Premonition
Its Spring Break & Elena Gilbert is very excited to be going to Italy with all of her friends!
The night before the gang takes off, she has a terrifying dream that she can't even put into words, but it seems like a warning; to be weary of the darkness.
Elena gets to Italy where the airport is locked down, a body has been found & her boyfriend Matt's sister has gone missing.
On her way out of the airport Elena stumbles into a mysterious sexy man who calls her Katherine; and this is the beginning of a riveting tale.
The man begins stalking Elena and promising a "gift" for Katherine, but after Elena and Bonnie meet at the graveyard as Bonnie goes into a trance- Elena is injured and Damon finally realizes that she is not Katherine.
Stefan Salvatore arrives in town and warns Elena that Damon is dangerous but she can't turn her feelings for him off, even when Matt comes home.
Elena and Stefan grow closer after he saves her from Damon's ruthless attempt at turning Elena and he tells her the truth.. Changing everything.
Elena wonders who she really is and what world she belongs in as the book winds to a close, her life is forever changed after Matt wrecks his truck over old Wickery Bridge, and its Stefan and not Damon, who rides to her rescue.
