With her wedding only a few weeks away, all Ofelia Archer wants is to slide into happily ever after. Things won’t be quite that easy for her.
After a night of drinking with her family, screams draw Ofelia and her fiancé Zach Sully to an alley where a tourist is found dead. The autopsy results come back with strangulation as the cause of death. There are just two little problems.
The first is that whoever did the deed had abnormally long fingers. The second is that the victim’s blood has been somehow changed on a molecular level. So, what could possibly do that?
Ofelia’s future father-in-law has a theory. Frog shifters. Ofelia doesn’t believe they’re real, though, and digs deeper. Her investigation leads her from the depths of the bayou to the 9th Ward in an effort to uncover the truth.

I like all the books of this series. In fact, I’ve liked all Harper Hart’s paranormal reads. I will eventually read Hannah Hitchcock’s series. I think it’s Murder on the Rocks?
My favorite reads are those about witches with powers and the ones with ghosts, especially when someone can see the ghosts. And the ghosts help solve murder cases. Best.
This series does have witches, vampires, shifters, priestesses, etc, but it’s from Ofelia’s aka Fe’s POV. She’s a witch. A very powerful witch, at that. In fact, she’s said to be the most powerful one in New Orleans and probably Baton Rouge and all cities in the vicinity. She’ll kick your butt without a sweat. And she isn’t afraid to tell you when you’re being a butt. Ya, she’s bold and blunt.
Buuut… even though she is the most powerful and has helped take down every monster and unusual creature since book 1, she is still humble. She’s also said to be hot, but she doesn’t know it and that only makes her hotter.
Then there’s her fiancé, Sully. Sully is a panther shifter and a Detective for New Orleans PD. He’s hot, too, and all the girls want him. Thing about him is that he Does know he’s hot and although he lets that get to his head sometimes, he only has eyes for Ofelia. They share the same heart.
This ending with the creator being taken down was somewhat anticlimactic to me. There wasn’t a lot of build up in the takedown, but there was something different and that’s that Sully took the main culprit down. Usually it’s Fe that does that. So, three cheers to Sully. Hip hip hooray!

Paranormal power plays
Ofelia and Sully are reigning power couple and their paranormal community in N’Orleans is a fav. Both of them are hilarious banters, with sarcastic snark, and always provide action - with Sully as a paranormal police detective, it’s somewhat built in to the job, and Ofelia as a powerful witch leads in the magical battles where good battles evil. They don’t see it, but they’re are a true force for good in the N’Orleans community, human and magical alike.
The other draw is the community relationships, love, support and involvement as a group - and when they all band together, Dora the reigning magical shop owner, Pascal the vampire and foster father for Ofelia, are also part of the reading fun and of course both their crazy southern families, it’s pure entertainment. Always exciting when they take down evil and good wins the day, and an absolutely worthwhile read

It was pretty much the standard for the series. It's cute and a very quick read. Fe and Sully are very lovie-dovie and there is quite a bit of discussion about the wedding. I can not figure out how the name of the book corresponds to the content of the story. You'd assume based on the name that there is some aspect of the police presence. There is not. The Paranormal team does get involved at the end. Dora and Pascal are also involved at the end. Some discussion about bayou hoodoo magic and the Others in the swamp. Since the wedding is supposed to be in a couple weeks maybe it will FINALLY happen in the next book. A few storylines are presented but never really provided additional information. There is a 3-some of "Golden Gumshoes" that seemed to be setting up a spinoff of some sort. They were really frustrating to me. The killer is never apprehended either (Pascal leaves to take care of it) so a finale is not really achieved.

Loved
I get so excited when I find out another book in this series is being released. Ofelia and Sully are a cute and funny couple. This story was interesting. I liked that it took us to different locations in New Orleans. I enjoyed the cozy mystery. It was a fun read that I loved. I cannot wait for their wedding!

Great read
Great book. I like this Author a great deal. Her books never disappoint. The premise was interesting, and I read through it pretty quickly. I love the interaction between Ofelia and Sully. Also the dynamics with her family and his. It brings the characters to life more.

I absolutely love this series. Fe and Zach find themselves, as usual, trying to solve a case they don't even understand. I was overjoyed to see a new book to the series. I read it in one setting, and my attention never strayed. Definitely recommend reading the series and the new book.

Awesome story! The author's imagination is seriously out of bounds. I don't know how she keeps coming up with her ideas, but I'm very happy she does. I'm going to be very bummed when this series ends.

Ok this one had me confused and wondering if they are real. I know some people who act kinda froggy, lol! We are getting closer to the wedding, I can't wait. Oh and Marie needs to get over herself, its NOT HER WEDDING! on to the next adventure!💙💚😉

Fun!
Love Fe and Sully! Interesting story with a twist I didn’t expect. Hope we see more of Mambo in the future. I think Zeke is up to something that we will learn about later. Can’t wait for the wedding book!

Fun read...

Frogmen
Another fun read with Ophelia, Sully and Pascal. The grey gumshoes were a treat. The villain needed to be a fuller character. That part felt like an afterthought. All lead up and the conclusion was too quick. I still enjoy the series and look forward to the next book.

I so love all these stories by this author. She has such great characters and storyline in them all. With her multiple series in 2 names I can hardly wait for each to be released.

I will never look at frogs the same way again, although the "bad guy" is not amphibian in nature, the description provided left nothing to the imagination and always Lily Harper Hart left me wanting more.

Totally enjoyed it! This is a well written and has well developed characters. The story is catching and with the strong characters makes for a very enjoyable read. Great Reading Everyone!
