Broken Wynn #4

Secrets of Elyrion

Rate this book
She fled to find help. She found the gods. But when the price of protection is freedom itself, will she still ask?

Nyrnn Ashall is alone and running out of time. She begs the stonetych to carry her where she can find answers about the Stonebound threatening Nubrai and the power stirring inside her. It carries her to the ruins of another ancient city. For days she searches its broken streets, her hope unravelling as quickly as her strength.

Exhausted and ill, Nyrnn is found by a band of fighters. One offers help. He fastens a leather cuff with a glowing symbol to her wrist. As she travels with them, she glimpses Elyrion beyond the mist, a city where living gods rule by law, only to learn that the wynn are forbidden to enter. Then a thunderous voice stirs in her mind. It knows where she is.

Meanwhile, Gryff races across Draihan to save a dying friend. Nord is drawn once more towards the Great Mother. And in Midel, a ruthless queen marshals armies and seeks a weapon that could permanently shift the balance of power.

As gods and mortals collide, Nyrnn must face the cost of asking for divine help and what happens when they answer.

Secrets of Elyrion continues the Broken Wynn series with character-driven epic fantasy, living gods who have their own agenda, dangerous magic, and a world that’s never quite what it seems.

Amazed that this series is not reviewed as much as it should be!

Well written, immersive reading and wonderful storytelling. Loved the concept of magic and different magical strengths. And how the gods were portrayed. Happy to hear that there’s one more book planned.
