An online chat room brought them together. Growing up, starting careers and half a globe of distance kept them from ever meeting. Fifteen years and a calendar reminder later, Elizabeth and Marcus have a date set to meet face-to-face in paradise.
Holidays can do curious things to a person. The heat of the sun, the burn of the golden sand underfoot, and the salt on the breeze make inhibitions float away. A week in the lap of luxury could be all it takes to make or break their friendship.
Will Elizabeth acknowledge the truth about her feelings towards Marcus?
Can Marcus toe the line and stay true to his vow to always put their friendship first?
This story is just so beautifully written, and the friendship between our main characters, Elizabeth and Marcus is true to life and full of small moments and an ease of dialogue that feels real. But it's the backdrop of a tropical island, the 'yolo' attitude of being on holidays and the sensation that consequences don't matter and what happens on holiday, stays on holiday that makes this book so immersive. KB McNair knows how to write a romance!
Elizabeth and Marcus have been friends since they met in a chat room as teens, and even though they lived on opposite sides of the world to the other, their friendship bond formed quick, strong and for life. Though Marcus may harbour more feelings for the girl who saved him from a dark place in his younger years.
A drunken text, a promise to fly and meet 'in the middle' for a tropical holiday one day is the catalyst for the beginning of their first meet up.
And what a meet up.
Sparks fly as Elizabeth's fun and vibrant personality meet Marcus's deadpan humour and within seconds they both struggle to keep things... friendly.
I loved the banter, I loved the pining (for a novella it's jam packed) and I loved how beautiful their romance unfolds. I'm ready for my holiday now!

Meet Me in the Middle by K.B. McNair is a fun and emotional vacation romance that explores what happens when a long-distance friendship finally becomes real.
Elizabeth and Marcus have spent fifteen years building a connection online, but life, distance, and timing have always kept them apart. When they finally decide to meet in person in paradise, the anticipation alone makes for such an engaging start. I loved the idea of two people who know each other so well emotionally, yet are navigating the nerves and excitement of meeting face-to-face for the first time.
The holiday setting adds a dreamy, escapist vibe to the story. Sun, sand, luxury, and the freedom that comes with being away from everyday life create the perfect backdrop for feelings that have been simmering for years to finally come to the surface.
Marcus and Elizabeth’s dynamic was interesting, especially as they both try to protect their long-standing friendship while quietly battling the feelings that have grown between them. There’s definitely tension in the “what if this changes everything?” sense, which kept me turning the pages.
Overall, this was an enjoyable read with a unique premise, emotional moments, and plenty of chemistry. If you enjoy friends-to-lovers, vacation romances, and relationships that have been years in the making, this one is definitely worth picking up.

Meet Me in the Middle is a fun, fast-paced, spicy hidden-billionaire romance that makes for an easy, engaging read.
Elizabeth steps into a new professional opportunity just as she’s preparing for a long-awaited overseas trip to finally meet one of her closest friends, Marcus, face to face. When they do meet, the emotional shift between friendship and something more begins to surface, and the chemistry between them moves quickly from warm to intense.
Because their connection is already established, the story moves at a rapid pace. The romance ignites quickly and the attraction is immediate, creating a dynamic that feels fated in its own way. The spice level definitely delivers, and the story wraps up with a conclusion that feels satisfying and heartfelt.
As a debut novella, this book offers a clear introduction to K.B. McNair’s writing voice. While I found the story fun and accessible, I did find myself wanting more depth around the characters’ shared history. I would have loved to spend more time immersed in how their friendship formed, how their lives unfolded in parallel, and to feel that emotional tension build on page rather than being recounted in retrospect.
Overall, this is a strong starting point, and I’m genuinely interested to see how this author’s voice and storytelling style continue to develop.
I received this book as an ARC, however, this review reflects my honest thoughts and feelings, shared voluntarily.

Buddy reading this with @enchanted_book_duo was such a great experience. We were laughing, squealing, giggling and just loved this from start to finish. This was my first KB McNair book but definitely won’t be my last.
I loved the way the characters met and had a long term friendship before they finally met face to face where everything changed for them. The ending was everything.
Words that linger: ☀️ “Coffee should not elicit those sorts of noises from anyone, Elizabeth. Sort yourself out.”
☀️ “If you say my name like that again, like it’s a prayer and I am your god, I don’t think I’ll be able to continue walking the very fine line I’m on.”
☀️ “I’m going to show you what it means for me to be your f ucking god, Elizabeth.”
☀️ “I need a clear and concise yes, Elizabeth. We won’t just be crossing a line. We will be decimating it.”
☀️ “You can’t use the fact you’re rich to justify breaking all the furniture in your home, Marcus!”

Friends To Lovers Vacation Romance He Falls First One Bed Dual POV
An online chat room. Fifteen years of friendship. One calendar reminder. One tropical meet-up that could change everything.
Elizabeth and Marcus have grown up together through screens — late-night messages, life updates, career milestones etc — all while living half a world apart.
This is friends-to-lovers with history. The kind where they know each other’s fears and flaws. That emotional foundation made every lingering look, every almost-touch, every “we shouldn’t cross this line” moment hit harder.
There’s a constant push-pull between protecting the friendship and risking it all for something deeper. And the spice? Chef’s kiss.

I highlighted so many parts of this book it was written so well. The love that Elizabeth and Marcus had developed over such a long time with no face to face contact came through so well on the page. I was swooning and cheering for this couple the whole book.

Elizabeth and Marcus have an online friendship that has spanned years and they finally take the chance to meet on a holiday and it doesn't take long for it to turn into a holiday romance.
The jokes, the fun and the adventure made it a good read. There wasn't really an awkwardness, the friendship was at the core and the relationship developed from there. Once the sparks started flying it was on, with Elizabeth seeing Marcus in a new light and she wasn't put off by his dominance. Enjoyed the read. Thank you.
As someone who doesn't read a lot of romance, this book was a breath of fresh air! It is a quick read, but it still packs a punch, especially with the development of romance between the two main characters. It doesn't feel rushed, but rather tender and realistic. The friendship between Marcus and Elizabeth is sweet and endearing, definitely one of those "kick your feet" kind of books. Overall, it was a wonderful read that gave me all the good feels! Highly recommend.
I really enjoyed this novella, I can’t wait to see if some of the other characters like Imogen, Jaeger, Felix & Antony get some time in print, if so sign me up. I thought this was delicious, it had enough spice to add excitement. After reading this I will be looking up more books from this author, the writing style is effortless and moves along at a nice pace.
This was a quick, enjoyable read. Elizabeth and Marcus finally meet after years of being online friends, and their chemistry takes off pretty much instantly. The ending was perfect for their love story. Cant wait to see what the author does next!
very cute and quick story. Long term internet friends FINALLY meet after 15 years and realise 1. They both horny and 2. They actually have some feeling for eachother.
A quick escape wrapped in sun, sparks, and just enough chaos to keep things interesting. This novella-sized holiday romance delivers flirty banter, swoony moments, and that “one trip changes everything” energy — short, sweet, and perfect for a one-sitting getaway read!

Elizabeth and Marcus’s holiday romance is one to remember, and let me tell you, you will want a Marcus in your life! I mean, who wouldn’t want a billionaire pining over you. If you want a holiday romance where he falls first, this one is for you! It was a nice, quick enjoyable read.
