Yet, Allison O'Connor wants nothing more than to escape from its grasps. The infamous Kings Cross bores her. And in order to stay clear of the lifestyle that slowly chokes her, she decides it’s times to finally become an adult and move to Melbourne. It also means going after the one man that she can’t quite forget. But in doing so, Ally soon discovers that moving to Melbourne could spark the biggest fight she’s ever faced: The fight for Robert Moors’ reluctant heart.
Robert Moors has one thing on his mind: making the Australian National Rowing Team and with that, The Olympic Team. All he’s done is train and ensure no distractions get in the way of achieving his dream. However, Fate has other plans. And her name, Allison O’Connor. The young socialite’s all sorts of trouble that Rob and his image doesn't need. But staying away from her is a lot harder than he’s ever imagined. She’s everything he never knew he needed. And she’s everything that could obliterate his career and his chance at The Olympics.
They both have choices to make.
But with all choices comes consequences. And some consequences will destroy everything they worked hard to create and call theirs.
Avid English Breakfast tea sipper and romance author, Len Webster spends most of her days writing, saying good morning to her dogs with kisses or trying to explain how the internet renamed her to Leonard Webster.
The cities of the world might have inspired her, but her entire being is content and at home in a gorgeous, small pinned dot on the map of Melbourne, Australia where every beat, crack, and scar of her heart has influenced the way she tells her stories.
Away from the tea leaves and written words, Len can be found immersed in the food and culture of brand new cities on #TheLenFoodTour or forgetting that her framed Bachelor of Business and Commerce from Monash University still awaits its place on the hook on her wall—sorry, Mum!
Reviewed @ Confessions From Romaholics Review copy kindly provided by author in exchange for a honest review reviewAll We Have is the first book I have read by this author and wont’ be my last. There is a lot going with this story but all you need to know is this . Richly researched and a beautiful story. A perfect Australian new adult read released on the perfect day . As this book embodies the Australian spirit. Rob is a typical Aussie bloke who has a passion for sport. Ever since he was ten his dream has to be win a Gold Medal. Now he is twenty five and it is in his grasps. He missed London and now Rio is only a grasp away.
However his mind is elsewhere thanks to recent developments
Allison O’Conner who fate brought into his life at wrong time. However Rob isn’t too concerned as he is falling in love with her. Staying away is hard when fate and destiny is into play but Aliison is no ordinary woman.
She is a socialite with a media history that can damaged his career. A history that she trying to escape and is making choices in the hope of doing so . Until Rob enters her life and turns it upside down and makes it so complicated.
Choices have consequences, and All We Have explores this as two individuals face their future and the choices they make as they fall in love. Love is a tricky thing and this book shows it how can take you by surprise and force you to reconsider things. It is a simple story of two dreams, two very different people, one love story. But what makes it special is the characters and their stories, their resilience, their determined and their hope.
All We Have can be read as a standalone somewhat but for the full experience I would defintely recommend reading this series from the beginning as this book does reference to events in previous books from my understanding. Also the book is set the same time period as the second book?
Either way once you experience the beautiful prose of Webster you will become addicted to her words and writing. There is something lyrical about her words, instantly connecting you to her characters and their stories. I fell for Rob and Allison from the very first few pages and was addicted to their beautiful journey to happiness. As this a special journey that is filled with highs and lows and I can’t wait to see where she takes us next with the Thirty- Eight series.
I'm going to be completely honest with you here: for a good 70% of the book, I legitimately did not like Rob's actions. I wanted to punch him in the junk and give him a good hard shake. He infuriated me to no end. And this was completely conflicting for me because I truly did fall in love with his character. I read what was going through his mind and I even sympathized with his thought process. But then his actions... whew, it tested my patience like not many characters have. But you know what? That was the beauty of this story. It wasn't your typical romance. There was nothing cookie cutter about it. He was almost an anti-hero and in the end, I was okay with that. Because when I fell for him, I fell hard.
I loved Ally from page one. I loved that we got insight to what they were both going through; the road they both traveled to get them where they were that day. To the public they couldn't have been more different, but to their core they were perfect for each other. With each hurdle that Ally had to face, my heart broke a little bit more. Here was a girl who'd literally had everything handed to her on a silver platter yet she wanted none of it. Thrust into the spotlight for the benefit or her father's company and at the detriment to her own sanity and reputation, she just wanted to break free. There was no doubt, by the time this book ended, what made her the wonderful woman she was. I thoroughly enjoyed the friendship between her, Clara, Stevie and Julian. Julian was truly a shock for me in this story. For as much as I loved him in his own books, he brought a much needed humor to this one. Stevie's strength truly shines in this story and at times it brought tears to my eyes to read her loyalty and conflict.
I fell in love with Len's writings 4 books ago and All We Have only helped to solidify what I had already concluded; that she truly is a diamond in the rough. Do you ever find yourself reading books and wonder why everyone you know isn't raving about the author? Len is one of the very few of those for me. I read her books and feel like my soul has shifted on its axis. My heart feels heavy yet lighter; my spirit more free than it's ever been. She writes books that are complex in their simplicity, and you can tell they come from somewhere special. I highly suggest you check out her books and start from the beginning to get the full effect of these beautiful characters. There's angst, heartache, loss, love, pure beauty, forgiveness, acceptance, and connectivity. I implore you to check them out!
I can't even describe how beautifully written this story is. Len Webster has this insane ability to pull you so far into a story that once it's over, you have no idea what to do with life. This book can be read as a standalone, but I don't know why one would start here. Go back to Thirty-Eight Days and get the full effect.
ALL WE HAVE is the fourth book in the Thirty Series written by Len Webster. It is the first book I have read by this author and can be read as a stand alone, but I don't recommend it. I am definitely going to go back and catch up with the characters I have come to enjoy.
Robert Moors is working extremely hard and trying desperately to reach his dream and capture an Olympic gold medal in rowing. This dream was extra special because he promised this to his deceased mother. He thought that was all that mattered, that is until he met stunningly beautiful, Allison O'Connor, at his best friends rehearsal dinner. Rob knew at that very moment that she was special and would somehow complicate his life.
Allison O'Connor is an heiress, a millionaire, and an unwilling socialite for her parents business, O'Connor Investments. Her parents encourage her socialite behavior earning her an unwarranted reputation. This reputation would prove very detrimental to her health and also her love life. Allison is miserable and wants nothing more than to leave that life behind. Hopefully, with the help of her good friends, she will be able to move on from a world where people are fake and use each other for business and social opportunities.
Allison made a deal with her father that if she could make it on her own for six months, she would be released from her obligations to O'Connor Investments. She has a life threatening illness that no one, except Serge, her bodyguard, knows about, and this deal could threaten her life.
Allison returns to Melbourne to live with her friends, Stevie Appleton, and Julian Moors. And it just so happens that Julian is Rob's younger brother. Allison is so sweet and beautiful and Rob can't stay away. Their relationship is very complicated. Rob's aspirations of a gold medal threaten to keep him from exploring a relationship with Allison. His rowing coach and manager warn him that Allison's reputation could keep him from being chosen for the Olympics, so he tries to stay away.
"I've worked so hard for the Olympics and nothing would have made me want to give that up...until I met her. It's scary Noel. It's scary how much I want to give up my dreams to be with her. How much I want to give up everything to have her."
Will Ron and Allison be able to overcome the obstacles that threaten their relationship? Will they be able to have it all?
This series has become a nostalgic favourite for me. It's been almost two years since I first read Thirty-Eight Days, and now here we are at book 4. These stories have a tendency to break my heart and then mend them again. I love this sweet series for its emotion as well as the wonderful group of friends. They're a supportive and caring bunch, and so it's been a pleasure following their stories as they continue to make appearances. The Thirty-Eight series has taken us through this group of friends, and now here we are with Rob and Ally. Rob Moors is the serious bloke with Olympic aspirations. Ally O'Connor is the ex-socialite, tired of being thought of as little more than eye-candy.
As they explore what their feelings for each other means, there is this constant push-pull between Rob and Ally that is both heart wrenching and frustration, particularly when it comes to Rob. Alternating between pushing the possibility of Ally away and then desperately dragging her back again became almost dizzying and slowed the story down a little for me. Rob has two warring parts of him and is clearly ill-practised in the art of following his heart. He's very different to the other boys in the group that have held the spotlight. Those boys weren't afraid to wear their hearts on their sleeves, but Rob just isn't like that. Ally is a sweet girl with an unflattering reputation, and her ability to accept appalling behaviour from all around her had me both annoyed and desperate to give the poor girl a hug. She's the hero of the story to me. We've seen her mainly on the fringes of the group before, and now we find out exactly what's going on beneath the surface. Ally has a few secrets, and in a way she reminded me a lot of Stevie from the last book, who is also Ally's flatmate.
It was just awesome to see some old favourites return in this book, particularly Stevie and Julian from What You Left Behind who are pure gold. From Julian's boyishness to Stevie's steadfast loyalty and friendship, they helped give this angsty story some nice balance. I'm glad that the series is not yet over, and that we'll get to see all these characters back once more. I loved the story, and devoured it in pretty much one sitting. All We Have gets 4.5 stars for me.
I have never loved a Len Webster book more than I love the fourth instalment of the Thirty-Eight series: All We Have.
Whether it's the cover, the characters, the story-line, or the fact that the characters, and some of the situations are just so damned relatable, I won't ever be able to tell you; what I can tell you, is that if you purchase All We Have, you will not regret it for as long as you live!
All We Have is that book that you get a hangover after, where you kind of just sit there and think "Damn." because it's finished, and you can never go back and read it again for the first time. It's that book, where if you could go back and read it again for the first time, you would. At least, I would.
Len Webster never ceases to amaze me, and with All We Have, she blew me right out of the water. For the sake of those of you that are going off this review as to whether or not you'll buy Len's book, I won't post any spoilers, but what I will do, is tell you that you'll be sitting on the edge of your seat, and holding on tight right through the entire book. Personally, I tried to hold off as long as possible when it came to finishing the book, because I just didn't want it to end.
I am, and always will be Team Ally, because she's such an amazing, kindhearted character that you cannot help but love! She's so easy to relate to, and has the biggest heart! She's the character you would love to have as a best friend. All We Have is the book that made me fall in love with Robert Moors. Many readers of the previous books in the Thirty-Eight series may not agree with me when it comes to this particular character, because of the way he comes across, no spoilers, I promise, but All We Have shows you a completely different side of Rob that we never really got to see in the other books, and it's almost like we're special, and have been let see something nobody else gets to see when it comes to this side of Rob.
I'm most definitely Team Ally, Team Rob, and Team Len when it comes to All We Have. If you want to read an emotional romance that will have you smiling, pulling on the ends of your hair, and making noises that have you sounding like a baby dinosaur, or have you tearing up, this is definitely the book for you.
Book Four of the Thirty Eight Series and I absolutely loved it. I love everything that Len Webster writes and this book blew my mind and at the same time ripped my heart into pieces. 5 stars all the way to the Yarra River.
First this book is the story of Rob and Allison. Ally a socialite at Sydney, but the only thing she wants it to get out of that life. Since Rob was a little boy he fell in love with rowing and all he wanted was to become part of the Australian national team. Rowing was all he wanted and needed until he met Ally.
This book is phenomenal, A REAL PIECE OF ART. I must say the story has its up and downs, specially with Rob. In some parts of the story I just wanted to rip his head out, but as the story goes on we got to know him better and he is really an amazing guy.
On the other hand, Ally is the best. There are so many parts that I cried for her. She is really amazing and deserved the best she could have.
I love all of Len Webster books and I really enjoy the series. Although this is book four you can read this book as a standalone. I recommend you reading each and every one because the series are about interconnected characters. If you have read the other books of the series you will fall in love with Julian and Stevie (Book 3 of the series What you left behind) even more.
You need to read this book as soon as you can. Go buy it now.
Wow! Len has done it again. She has written yet another book that is heart wrenching, but so beautiful at the same time. It is just how she writes. No matter what the story will be, she will make you fall in love harder, with all the characters. I have been following the Thirty-Eight Days series from the start and we are here with book four: Rob and Ally's story.
Rob has always loved rowing and his dream has been to be on the Australian national team. Well, that's until he met Allison. Ally is an ex-socialite who has always been mistaken for being an eye-candy. Len shows us so much more of Allison that I couldn't help, but fall in love with her.
Beautifully written, this book will tug those strings of your heart which may seem like torture for a moment, but will fill you with warmth the next. All We Have is different from the previous books. The character of Rob is so much more different. While the guys from the previous books weren't afraid of love, or professing about it, Rob struggles. His dream has been rowing, but with Allison in picture, things change.
I have cried, had fun, fell in love: all at the same time. Len's books always have a deeper meaning, and that is what I like about her! I highly recommend this book.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 and they just get better and better!!! I'm totally in love with this Authors writing and books. I've been a book binge and they have all been Len Webster books. I'm down to the last of the series and I'm sad and excited to see them coming to an end.
"A heartbreaking story about finding your dreams and happily ever after!"
This is the third book I've read by Len, and god, can this woman pull out my heart anymore?
Rob and Ally's story was so full of angst and managed to pull heartstrings so bad, I don't think any amount of words can do justice as to how amazing this book is.
The Moors brothers were the main reason I wanted to read this book so bad! Both are so different, but both can make you fall in love with them - after each get a whack on the head, though. While Julian wasn't afraid to declare his feelings for Stevie, Robert always had a hard time. He had dreams to fulfill, and those dreams didn't involve Ally.
"Your dreams will never include me. My dreams consist of only you."
Time and again, heartbreak after heartbreak, we see how both Ally and Rob fight and strive to get their happily ever after. We see how Ally grows as a person and becomes a strong woman - even though she knows hat she may not have enough time.
But she will take All They Have.
All We Have is the perfect mix of light-hearted moments and intense, heartbreaking, gut wrenching moments as well. And if this is what Len has done in All We Have, I can't begin to imagine what will be next in store for us in Max's book.
All in all, 5 stars and beyond to you Len! You blew me away once again with your words. You are one very talented writer, and never give up on your dreams, too.
Because the feels and tears that come when reading your words are REAL. REAL!
Great job, Len! Can't wait to read more in this series!!
P.S Brownie points because of Julian 'Overlord' Moors, a.k.a, The Child.
P.P.S More points for that amazingly, gorgeous cover!!
Wow! How do you describe a book you just want to hug and keep forever? I am in love with anything Len Webster writes. This book was no different. The magic that the author delivers with each of her characters is something not everyone can do. Each are unique and awesome in their own way. I was not prepared to shed these many tears. I absolutely love Ally and Rob! They both have issues but I don't want to give out spoilers so you'll have to read it to find out ;) So happy that Ally and Rob get their HEA :) I was worried there for a minute.
To get a better understanding of Ally and Rob and I would definitely recommend starting with Thirty-eight days which is the first book in the series. I am ready for Max's book! Bring it on! :)
Won this arc in a giveaway in exchange for an honest review.
The thing that got me with this book was the ending with Rob’s truth and sacrifice he made out of his deep love for Ally. Up until that point there was a lot of going back and forth between Rob and Ally and really Rob’s insecurities. He pissed me off a lot with his back-and-forth BS towards Allison. It was like taking three steps forward two steps back during this entire story. This is just another one in this book series that starts off good, hits excessive boredom in the middle then culminates the story in the end. This one was very angsty and usually I can get on board with that but when it’s overdone I lose interest and that’s what happened here. The ending ended up being the best part of this book.
38 stars for this amazing novel in the Thirty-Eight Series because 5 stars just aren’t enough to show how amazing Len Webster’s writing is. With All We Have she outdid herself again. Her writing gets to you in a way no other does and she made me fall in love with the two main characters Allie and Rob and their sweet and heartbreaking story. All We Have can be read as a standalone but I recommend that you start with the first book in the series and get to know more about the other characters in the book series.
All We Have is another beautiful book written by Len Webster. There are so many emotions in this book. You will laugh, cry and get mad. You will love Rob and Ally. This book will quickly become a favorite in the Thirty Eight Series.
I love these books, even if Rob was more of an asshole in this book than his brother was in the last book. They are perfectly cliché and just the pick me up that I needed.
