"Justice isn’t always black or white. Sometimes it’s cold and dark."

A Cold Dark Place (Winner of the New England Readers' Choice Award in Romantic Suspense. 2015 Holt Medallion Finalist).

Former CIA assassin Alex Parker works for The Gateway Project, a clandestine government organization hell-bent on taking out serial killers and pedophiles before they enter the justice system. Alex doesn’t enjoy killing, but he’s damn good at it. He’s good at dodging the law, too—until a beautiful rookie agent has him wondering what it might be like to get caught.

FBI Special Agent Mallory Rooney has spent years hunting the lowlife who abducted her identical twin sister eighteen years ago. Now, during an on-going serial killer investigation, Mallory begins to suspect there’s a vigilante operating outside the law. She has no choice but to take him down, because murder isn’t justice. Is it?

When Mallory starts asking questions, The Gateway Project management starts to sweat, and orders Alex to watch her. As soon as they meet, the two begin to fall in love. But the lies and betrayals that define Alex’s life threaten to destroy them both—especially when the man who stole her sister all those years ago makes Mallory his next target, and Alex must reveal his true identity to save the woman he loves.

Cold Pursuit (2015 Winner of National Excellence in Romance Fiction Award ~ for Romantic Suspense).

Single mom Vivi Vincent is thrust into her worst nightmare when she's trapped inside a mall during a terror attack along with her eight-year-old son. With the help of Jed Brennan, an FBI special agent on enforced leave, Vivi and her son survive the assault. But the danger is far from over.

Vivi's son may have witnessed critical details of the terrorists' future plans and is targeted for death, but he's mute, and he's traumatized. Still someone launches a strike against the FBI's safe house, and Jed fears the bad guys have an inside man. No longer knowing who to trust, he hides mother and son in a log cabin deep in the heart of the Wisconsin Northwoods. There Jed and Vivi try to figure out how to unlock the information inside her son's head. What they don't bargain for is the red-hot attraction that flares between them, or the extent of the sinister plot that threatens to rip apart not only any chance of happiness they might have together, but also the very fabric of American society.

Cold Light of Day (Winner 2015 Readers' Choice and Book Buyer's Best).

Physicist Scarlett Stone is the daughter of the man considered to be the most notorious Russian agent in FBI history. With her father dying in prison she’s determined to prove he’s innocent, but time is running out. Using a false identity, she gains access to the Russian ambassador’s Christmas party, searching for evidence of a set-up.

Former Navy SEAL, now FBI Special Agent, Matt Lazlo, is instantly attracted to Scarlett but life is too complicated to pursue a politician’s daughter. When he discovers she lied to him about her identity, he hunts her down with the ruthless efficiency he usually reserves for serial killers.

Not only does Scarlett’s scheme fail, it puts her in the sights of powerful people who reward unwanted curiosity with brutality. The FBI—and Matt—aren’t thrilled with her, either.

A Cold Dark Place:
4 stars
Wow, this story sure had its complex twisted moments! Its been a few since I've read an FBI romantic suspense thriller so this was a nice refresher. I loved how different this was especially with the hero's background. Loving the 3 pov's and the killer/kidnapper's is seriously creepy! Totally wasn't expecting the ending with Mallory's mom of her part. Eric did a good job narrating.

I received this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Cold Pursuit:

Talk about a scene opener! I wasn't expecting to happen in this book to happen as I went in blind. This is a good romantic suspense book though. This book is much different compared to book 1 A Cold Dark Place (each standalone in the series). I can only imagine they get a lot different throughout.
Eric G Dove did a great job with the narration including added accents.

I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Cold Light of Day:

This one was interesting on how Scarlett and Matt met. So many twist and turns.

Cold Justice Series Box Set
A Cold Dark Place
This was an exciting book, but broke my heart at times. Alex had gone into the CIA with the best of intentions and got caught up in something the CIA would never acknowledge. I can’t imagine the prison Alex was in and what he went through. I am sure when the Gateway Project came to him and told him he could get out if he gave them five years of his life. He was so far gone being captured he probably would have agreed to anything. He hated he had to kill serial killers and pediphiles before they were taken into custody. He ends up meeting Mallory who works for the FBI. My heart broke for her as her exact twin was kidnapped when she was nine years old and never found. This is why she went into the FBI so she could try and find her. Alex and Mallory have some of the same friends and meet each other. I was happy and sad that Alex and Mallory were attracted to each other. The story is so interesting with twists and turns that kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved the book and strongly encourage you to read it.

Cold Pursuit
I loved this book! It was exciting, action packed and had romance. I felt so bad for Vivi through most of the book. She has a horrible ex husband who degraded their son as he quit talking at age four. She doesn’t have a lot of self worth, mostly because of her ex husband. She loves her son and will do anything for him. She has taken her son Michael to numerous experts to try and determine what is wrong. Hence her reason to be in Minneapolis and taking her son to the large mall to ride the roller coaster. I can’t begin to imagine what she felt when shooting started in the mall, and people were dropping like flies. Luckily for her, FBI agent Jed was in the mall getting Christmas gifts. It was amazing how they got out. Unfortunately her son was hiding in a cupboard in the toy store where some of the terrorists were standing. It doesn't get better when the gun shots are over and Vivi and her son are interviewed on TV as her son can draw like an expert and the news lets this out along with how he was in the store with some of the terrorists. Now the terrorists are after Michael to kill him. It was so exciting how many times mother, son and Jed had to get away before being killed. All the alphabet agencies are trying to figure out why the terrorists are in the states and what they want. So of course there is interagency fighting going on. The book was so exciting and I loved it. I strongly encourage you to read it.

Cold Light of Day
This is another good book in this series. This book had espionage, suspense, traitors, romance and so much more. Scarlett was a super brave person to go with her best friend Angel to the Russian Embassy’s party to try and plant a bug. She is determined to prove her father was not the traitor he was put in prison for fourteen years ago. She messes up and makes her friend leave quickly where she meets FBI agent Matt who gives them a ride home. Unfortunately the cameras in the Russian embassy have Scarlett on camera trying to plant the bug. The story just keeps getting more exciting as it goes. At first no one at the FBI believes Scarlett that her father is innocent until others go after Scarlett to kill her that should have no reason to. It was an interesting and exciting story. I strongly encourage you to read the book.

•••I listened to the Audible Audio Edition of this book•••

Eric G. Dove is the only voice I could ever imagine for this series! He does better with every consecutive book even though his narration of the first was amazing. He knows the characters inside and out which allows him to convey they myriad emotions and personalities in a very entertaining and believable manner. Tue seamless transition from one book to the next makes it easy to get lost in the world created by his performance and the author's writing. I hope he continues with this series as I am sure he is the only one who can do it proper justice :) I can't wait to listen to more by this talented voice actor!

Patriotic Romantic Suspense

This series must be listened to (or read) in order. This contains the first three books in the series. I can't wait to listen to Cold Fear!

This series is filled with strong, independent characters who are driven to find the truth no matter the personal cost. Finding killers, righting wrongs, stopping terrorists, exposing cover-ups are all in a day's work! Humor keeps the stories from being too dark even though the horror and suspense are intense and disturbing. The characters eventually find what they are looking for in a partner and find their requisite HEA but not before an intense action packed thrill ride filled with intrigue and mysteries that are not easy to solve. It will keep you on the edge of you seat and constantly wanting more!

***This series is suitable for adult readers who enjoy romantic psychological thrillers with loads of suspense, intrigue, action, adventure, horror and a broken hero learning to live again with a few steamy sex scenes :)

A Cold Dark Place *****
Oh wow, this is an excellent story. I couldn't put it down.

Mallory is an agent and she's more determined than ever to find out who kidnapped her twin sister 18 years ago because she now feels that her twin is no longer alive. Alex used to be an agent but after being left to die in a foreign land, a secret government agency agreed to get him out if he became their assassin. The two meet by chance and are instantly attracted but fight it because on their "no dating" rule.

Alex almost gets caught at his next "job" and has to bug Mallorys life to make sure she isn't on to him but finds someone else already there sneaking into her place now he becomes tangled up in trying to protect her. He realizes he's in over his head but he can no longer resist her no more than she can resist him but she has no idea how deep her family is involved in his secret..
Cold Pursuit****
This time around the author chose a terrorist attack as the plot. Jed is an overworked agent on a forced vacation & just happens to be at the mall shopping when the attack occurs and ends up getting personally attached to single mom, Vivi & her special 8 year old son.

It's a very interesting tangled web of blackmail, deception, secrecy & even a shocking Gateway revelation of the true enemy. In the end this couple realize with each other to lean on, they can handle it all. This story wasn't quite as romantic as previous, (A Cold Dark Place) it's still a great read & it was also great to get an update on Alex & Mallory.

Cold Light of Day*****
Wow!! Absolutely loved it!

Scarlett is determined to clear her dying father's name, so she plans to plant one of her specialized bugs in the office of the Russian ambassador but her plan is unsuccessful & blows up in her face. Now she is stuck with FBI special agent, Matt, who doesn't believe in her father innocence but knows her plan has now put her life in danger.

As he plays bodyguard, he also looks into her fathers case & with the help of some other famous agents start digging which makes someone even more determined to not be discovered begin the final cover-up....

Cold Justice 1-3

Mallory and Alex.
Deranged serial killers. Mallory's twin sister was kidnapped as a child. At the anniversary of her kidnapping she had a one night stand with Alex. He gained access to her apartment and planted bugs. Alex is a killer and doesn't feel worthy of her. She works for the BAU. The man who kidnapped her sister is stalking her now
The relationship is growing fast. Mallory is pregnant. And they get a fresh start at loving each other forever
Twisted psychos. Dirty politicians. Evil cops. Assassins. Throw them in a tumble and see what happens. Oh what tangled webs we weave

Vivi and Jed
A terrorist attack on a mall has put Vivi and her son in the path of FBI agent Jed. They are hiding out in his cabin as the terrorists wants to kill her boy. They are fighting their attraction towards each other.
What kind of an asshole kills children, for the sake of his country. This story is so real I feel it in my bones. Happy ending for the lovers

Scarlet and Matt
Espionage.  Scarlett believes hef father is innocent. He was framed by the Russian Ambassador. She tried to plant a bug in the Russian's house and was caught on camera. Russians kidnapped her friend and tried to kill her. The FBI rescued her. The plot thickens. Matt hid her on his boat and they were nearly blown up with the boat. Now they're on the run.
Oh what tangled webs they wove. Double spies. Some Humans are rotten to the core.  How can you betray your country? And how can you deliver a girl to be raped. Sickos
Aah the get their happily ever after.
I really enjoyed this series. Thank you Toni Anderson

Hooked from Book one!

I binge read and listened to this box set all night long. I have to say not only were the books enjoyable but the narration by Eric G. Dove elevated them to a whole new level. His understanding of the complex and flawed characters meant he could convey their emotions and motivations in a very believable and highly entertaining manner.

This box set contains the first three books in the series. The series must be listened to (or read) in order for them to make sense as each book introduces characters and storylines that will be explored further in later books.

I just love good romantic psychological thrillers that are choc full of suspense, intrigue and action-packed romance and Toni Anderson's series did not disappoint me. The characters grabbed me from the get go and once I started I was well and truly hooked. Featuring ingenious plots, broken heroes and strong characters who are willing to go to hell and back to do the right thing. Stopping killers, righting wrongs, exposing cover-ups and thrawting terrorists is all in a days work for these FBI agents. Falling in love is not in the job description and our heroes are really put through the mill before they find their HEA.

Intense edge of the seat stories with extreme dark themes, some humour and a smattering of steamy love scenes make these books a must read for adults who love series like Criminal Minds and will leave you craving for more! I am off to binge listen to box set 2 tonight.

So Toni Anderson has been on my TBL list for a long time because I just knew I'd enjoy her books, and I've been collecting her audios. I finally dove in and I want to binge everything she has. Alex and Mallory's story stole my attention from the first words. Alex...well he is a damaged, good man that is my typical swoonworthy mold in romantic suspense. I was rooting hard for him to get the HEA he didn't believe he deserved. There were convoluted mysteries to be solved. Twists and turns galore and plenty of action, danger, and pulse pounding suspense to keep you on your toes. Narration was great.
Book 2: Vivi and Jed's story charges right out of the gate with gripping danger and suspense, captivating my attention. The way Jed treats Vivi's son Michael is so heartwarming. And Jed's family-I definitely want to see more of them as they seem so intriguing. Honestly, the schemes portrayed in this story by government officials is a little scary, as we all know nothing is far fetched in this day and age. Toni weaved a great story as this little family journeyed to their HEA through all the life threatening danger. I want to see more of Michael and his progress, and hope a future book checks back in with them. Narration is great at bringing the story to life.
Book 3: Wow...the secrets and schemes that still plague the FBI just keep growing. Scarlett is a fiesty woman who gets in over her head while trying to prove her father's innocence, but attracting the attention of the FBI was her saving grace as they fight to protect her, and begin to believe all isn't as it seems. Scarlett and Matt fall hard and fast for each other. The danger, action, suspense, and twists that just keep coming when you think the dust is finally settling keep you listening. Great narration.

It took the help of another before love arrived

A great trilogy of a search for the truth Alex was pulled into a programme he didn't want to be in, Agent Millroy Rooney as a twin but her sister was kidnapped 18 years earlier book one is the story the discovery the falling in love too. Book two, Viv and her son had been to the specialist he hadn't spoken a word for many years , as a treat she took him to the mall and a fair but then all hell let !lose as terrorists shot people left and right she hid her son and went to find a way out FBI Jed Brennan helped her her out and she made him promise to go get her son , the story is snorkelling them safe as the terrorist were after them an exciting story and love and trust. Book three Scarlet tries to buy a Russian ambassador s office to try to prove her dad was not a spy, Matt got the job to keep her safe fighting all the time his feeling s were growing, a great story of spies of fear and the who was the culprit to frame her father . I highly recommend this trilogy

Wow, just wow. This is a review of the 3rd book in this set "Cold Light of Day". I finished and reviewed the first two previously.

I'll say at the start, Toni Anderson just jumped into my top 5 favorite authors. Usually, a 3 book set has a Great, a Meh, and a Blah, but that was not the case here. 3 totally standalone stories (with characters intertwined in each) that were just fantastic. This story, like the first two, starts off fast and never lets up. It's hard to believe the events happened in just over a few days instead of weeks. Scarlett is trying to prove her father's innocence, instead, she re-opens a spy case that's been closed for 14 years. Matt's job is to keep her alive even if he doesn't believe her father is innocent. Oh, and he's not supposed to fall in lust or love with the spy's daughter.

Fast-moving spy thriller, lots of action, some sexy times, standalone, and HEA.

More than just romantic suspense. These books are masterfully crafted thrillers. Pulse pounding action and intrique with twists you'll never see coming!

Most romantic suspense books offer thin fluff as suspense, but Toni Anderson creates terrifying scenario's with mystery, danger and complex stories. They also have love, passion and sexy characters we can fantasize about. Strong alpha males and strong-willed women whose hearts are melted (and other places too) by genuine chemistry and attraction.
These tales are amongst the best this genre has to offer. If you like real suspense thrillers mixed with great love stories then anything by Toni Anderson will wet your whistle, somewhere!

Love, Love, LOVE
For fans of romantic suspense, this is a trifecta. Each of the three stories in this collection features strong alpha men with that delicious over-protective white knight syndrome and brilliant, driven women who offer strength in their unique ways. Several main characters are interconnected in the stories as they live and/or work together. But each story features a different couple, a completely different storyline, and different forms of antagonists.

Readers can expect terrific action at a page-turning pace, and steamy, toe-curling love scenes. They can also expect depth in the personalities and a rich storyline for each novel presented in the set. This is a great set for finding romantic suspense nirvana.

I read book 1 and really liked it. I decided I should save the rest of the series and only read one occasionally. That was dumb. Life's too short to save good books when you can read them now. So I binged, reading 9 books in 16 days. It was glorious. I especially enjoy how the main characters from book 1 become supporting characters in book 2, etc. It's a great way to have some of the continuity of a sequel without the boredom of typical sequels.

Life interfered once or twice, but other than that, I never put one of these down until I finished it.

Fear and reconciliation

This last book was a good one! I know very little about the FBI, or any of the alphabet organizations! This book gave insight into the FBI! Or the world if espionage and intrigue! The book took on human tones when the story line fell to an innocent young woman, trying to take the matter of her father’s conviction as a spy into her own hands! She had such faith in her Dad’s goodness and innocence and she learned to trust the love of a good man! Couldn’t ask for more in a book, or in a series!

Love Ms. Anderson style, her books are thrilling, big on suspense, hard to guess who did the crime and it is always a surprise. Adding the romance and a few hot scenes makes it appealing to the romantic in me. I recommend the series with 5 stars.

The voice of Mr. Dove was a great choice for this series, he makes the stories believable and enjoyable, the characters come to life. - 5 stars

Amazing series.

I loved this book. I already had the first two books and then I got this set. Each book kept me on edge. Loved feeling connected to each of the couples. There’s plenty of action, terrorist plots too. We get multiple points of view too. I read a book a day, it’s that good and I’m about to start the fourth one in this series. I highly recommend this book. I just discovered this author and I’m hooked.

Having three of Toni’s stories together is great idea. You can binge on a really great series. I listened to this on Audible and had book 2 in the series too so I could switch back and forth to keep my momentum going.

I really like these stories. Alex is my favorite character (spoiler alert: he keeps re-appearing!). The stories have the perfect mix of romance and suspense. I like how we occasionally have POV from the anti-hero and still don’t know who he/she is.

Great introduction to Toni Anderson...

This was a wonderful box set of the first 3 books in the Cold Justice series. They were all brilliant romantic suspense stories that reminded me of a more in depth romantic book version of Criminal Minds. I'll definitely be continuing on with the series.

I love this series so far!

These first 3 books were awesome. Out of the 3 so far, 2 is my favorite, but 1 is very close to being my favorite. I think I liked 2 more partially because I was reminded of Gibbs and Fornell with Brennan and the spooks dynamic and banter lol. I'm off to read 4 & 5 now. Maybe I'll end up with a new favorite! Great great series so far!

Great read! 👍

Toni Anderson has done it again. A great story, perfect settings and characters that you either love or hate. So much intrigue and suspense...just my cup of tea. Even though each book in this series is a stand alone story she has carried the best characters from book to book. I can't wait to continue reading other books in this series that I have not read yet. 💜

Read in one sitting!! I couldn’t stop.

It’s been a while since a romantic suspense series really captured and held my attention... I was totally hooked from the beginning in this one! It may be weird, but I loved the inside look at all the alphabet agencies. Darker than my normal romance picks, but absolutely worth it!

Even though there are three stories in this book, each one is packed with lots of action, secrets that provide surprises and twists and turns, plus hot, steaming, sizzling romance.
This is a not to be missed 3 book volume that is part of a not to be missed series. There was no way to put this down, it demanded reading, continued reading. So highly recommend.

The three first books of this series in one volume, and I just loved all of them. Some seemed a bit unrealistic to me, but hey! what do I know about how FBI and CIA etc actually work? Very likeable protagonists, and - especially likeable - strong women among them, good plots, and great storytelling make this a very enjoyable read. I want more of this series, definitely.

Awesome Series

While I love action/murder/romance stories I can usually solve them early on. Not so with this series. The twists and turns and hints don't give anything away. I love the characters that show up again and again in each of these stories...a major character in some, a minor character in another. Ill be reading the entire series. Good author!
