Secret Relations

Rate this book
Business and pleasure don’t mix…until emotion enters the scene. Women in Hollywood, Book 1 Charlotte Richards didn’t get to be one of Hollywood’s top talent managers by dating her clients. When it comes to her career, her heart is not part of the contract—no matter how enticing the star. From the moment she steps into Sean Maxwell’s fabulous home, though, the cool, professional persona she’s worked so hard to build threatens to melt in desire hotter than Sean’s sexy R&B lyrics. Sean’s attraction to Charlotte is nothing new, at least not to him. He fell for her the moment he spotted her at a celebrity gala years ago. Now, with his old manager kicked to the curb, it’s the perfect time to bring her into his life. The sparks between them blow Sean’s plan to take things slow right off the charts. And his determination to win her runs into overtime when the ghosts of his past threaten to destroy their one chance at love. Contains a reformed playboy determined to do things right this time, and a career woman equally determined to keep her eyes off his sexy-as-sin body. Oh well, their intentions were honorable…

It's been a minute since I've read anything from Ms. Goss...and I was CAUGHT UP once again in the first book of her Women in Hollywood series...Sean was a man who knew who and what he wanted...the who was Charlotte his new PR manager...but does she want the same thing...does she TRUST Sean w/her heart and her business after what she went through w/her ex-boyfriend/client...Charlotte gave Sean a run for his money w/her STUBBORNNESS and her strong independent WILL...can he get her to leave the past behind and look to the present and a future w/him...a GOOD romance w/little mystery surrounding this couple and their journey to a H-E-A...looking forward to the next book in this series.

This was a great story. Shelia Goss has a wonderful way of writing a story and drawing you in from the beginning. When reading her books, you can actually feel what the character is feeling. I am looking forward to reading more books by her.

Holy hotness, Batman! This was a very hot book.
Charlotte is one of the top talent managers in Hollywood, and she didn’t get to the top by being literally on top of her clients. She doesn’t date her clients, and she doesn’t give her heart over to anyone. But, as soon as she meets R&B singer Sean Maxwell, she feels her control slipping. The chemistry between them is explosive, but for Sean it’s not new. He noticed her at a party year before and now that he’s in the market for a new manager, he sees his chance to bring Charlotte into his world as more than just his manager. Can they make love work when she’s resistant and he has a past that could threaten their future?
Well…wowza. The plot of this story is fun and easy to read but what really sealed the deal for me is the chemistry and sexy time between the characters. I mean, this is what a reader wants in an erotic romance story. Build up, chemistry, romance and a very hot man with a killer body and voice. It’s the stuff that dreams are made of. And fantasies.
I thought that this story was told well and it had all the elements of a good overall story. The characters were solid and even though the plot wasn’t entirely original, it wasn’t tired. I was interested in where it was going and how they were going to get to the happily ever after.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and I would recommend it. 4 stars.

This was a 3.5 read for me

Goss has written a sweet and soulful romance of two strong-minded professionals learning how to come out on top in both life and love. Charlotte is a spitfire heroine whose stubbornness, holding on to her past almost crippled her from the man she desires. There were times when I just wanted to shake Charlotte to see how perfect Sean would be for her and just wanted some of that astuteness she showed in business relationships to apply to her personal life. Sean lives up to his role as a dreamy hero. I enjoyed his romantic wooing to win Charlotte over and often wondered when his patience would run out. Sean’s growing maturity and understanding his respect and love for Charlotte was unfolded in a realistic manner. While the chemistry between the couples at times seems lacking their journey of personal revelations and professional success will hold the hearts and attention of readers.

SECRET RELATIONS is the first book in the Women in Hollywood series and Goss neatly introduced readers to the scenery, politics, and secrets that are as fundamental to the premise of the series as any of the characters. Charlotte and her two girlfriends make up a strong loving support network and I look forward to reading their stories.

I recommend SECRET RELATIONS to readers looking for a romantic and entertaining storyline.
