The first book was good this one kept the pages turning but the typos made me want to stop reading. There were way too many. Also I couldn't understand why some people weren't killed but others were - Vickie, pilot, Mark, Shantell, Kyle to name a few.
This was not a good book series at all. There were so many mistakes whether it misspellings, missing words, the wrong words used and forgetting what character they were talking about. Those things made a book that was already bad….worse. At the end of the previous book the author left an authors note and talked about how she just couldn’t make this series one book as if the book was gonna be worth it being split up. Sorry but it just didn’t give what she thought she was giving. This definitely could have been one book. Everything was so repetitive, no character growth, the storyline made no sense whatsoever. Apparently the FMC found she was pregnant a couple weeks after sex and the hat blew me is how everyone started talking about you could see a small bump. Huhh?!? It just felt like she was trying stuff as drama as she could into 200 pages. I’ve been wanting to read this book for the longest just based off the cover alone and sadly this was letdown.
Word of advice to authors whether you are signed to a major publishing company or independent the minimum get a good editor or at least proofread your work. This is a product you’re selling and no one would be satisfied with a book full of errors.
Theresa , you did your thing on the second book. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the whole book. All the plots and developing were great. Misa was always putting herself in a kidnapping situation. She was so hard head and didn't know how to take the lead from a man. A lot of women go through this. She experienced so much heartache from the time she was born until she finally delivered the baby. Kane was willing to save Misa from the time he met her in the first book. He couldn't see how he was taking advantage of. The plots that he kept being pulled in were crazy. From the person who he thought was his father and his mother. Kane's mother was a piece of work. I dont know if I could have walked away from her. She didn't want him to be happy. Kyle and Tracey came a long way. I thought Kane was going to get rid of them, too. I am glad they were able to survive and become Kane and Misa backbone. Theresa pen game was amazing, off the chain and over beyond what she did in the first book!!!!+ Keep doing what you are doing, Theresa!!!!! You took me on an adventure!!!!!
I’m gonna start off by saying everyone who got their comeuppance definitely deserved it esp Armon & Cynthia even Kev & Isaac. Misa got closure from both of her parents while going through turmoil and bs along the way even though it might not have been the way she wanted it. Kane was able to take care of those who wrong them while still taking care is Misa and Mekhi as well. I’m glad Tracey finally came around and saw that Kane was bad at all. Kane getting his second chance at having a family warmed my heart so much. The surprise Misa got was nothing short of amazing I was definitely crying tears of joy while I was reading. Cynthia’s actions pissed me all the way off not to mention her reasoning behind it smh. June did his big one in the end so he good in my book despite what was said. Kyle did his big one as a big brother every time bc I really thought I was gonna hate him I’m happy it turned out well and I love him and Tracey together bc that damn Isaac wasn’t worth a damn at all. This was a great finale to an even greater series. If y’all ain’t read this story hop skip and jump to Amazon right NEOOOW!!! Excellent job boo 😊😊
Kane was not playing about Misa, at all. Betrayal and deceit ran through this family like a bad gene, with secrets stacked sky-high. But the desire between Kane and Misa was dangerous, magnetic, and messy, like lighting a match in a room full of gasoline and calling it fate.
Kane is a different breed of unhinged. Calculated chaos, not reckless. The kind that moves with purpose. Plot twists came back to back, had my mind racing, trying to figure out what was real and what was a setup. And right in the middle of it all, money showed its ugly face, reminding us it’s still the root of all evil.
What really hit was the blessing of family and second chances. Not the soft kind, but the hard-earned ones that come through scars and survival. Fast-paced, well put together, and heavy with pressure, grace, and chaos. I enjoyed every minute of the madness.
Rating: 5 stars ⭐️ Came back with the action. Fast paced and back to the needy greedy. This was filled with toxicity, masculinity, family secrets, dark humor, banter, and all the drama an urban fiction is about. Having book 1 leave us on a cliffhanger, this picks right back up. Kane was back being his crazy self I actually enjoy his unhinged and toxic self.. the man is just all messed up! Misa is the perfect match for his craziness. She is toxic too. Yes she is just as crazy as him. Their relationship and personalities are too much at time. I’m all here for it. The ending was absolutely beautiful! I almost cried because I just knew how much it meant for Misa. Read the book folks Thanks for the arc!
Okay. OKAY. OKAYYYY! This was the conclusion I needed. Because when I tell y’all I needed Kane to get active? Baby… he absolutely clocked in and did what needed to be done.
Now listen...Misa? My girl STAY running. Track star behavior for real. 😭 But I can’t even be mad at her because there were way too many unanswered questions and way too much danger circling her. It got so bad at one point she couldn’t even step outside without somebody plotting on her just because of her connection to Kane.
And Kane finally had to check her like, “Why you always running? At this point you acting like the opps.” Sir was fed UP. It was very much “you’re either in this or you’re not,” and honestly? That conversation was overdue.
Now let’s talk about that best friend… because she had me giving MAJOR side-eye for most of this book. I was trying to figure out where all the weird energy and lowkey hater behavior was coming from. Like ma’am, isn’t this your day one? Why you treating her like a stranger?! That part had me stressed.
If you read Book 1, you have to read this one. Period. This book ties up the chaos, answers the questions, and shows you exactly how this saga ends. Misa and Kane went through HELLLL… but the real question is...can they survive it together?
A wild and crazy ride, she definitely meant it. All Misa wanted was to go out and possibly make a few extra dollars, and she got everything but that!!!! Misa was literally fighting for her life the entire series. Everybody wanted her and not in a good way. My girl had enemies coming from every direction, drama stayed popping up. Their families were beyond messy and full of lies!!! One thing that stayed consistent throughout the entire series is that Kane did not play about Misa. At all. This series was a wild ride from beginning to end, and honestly… I didn’t want to get off.
Ms. Reese the second installment was perfect all questions were answered. Karma was delivered to everyone. Misa couldn’t catch a break it just seemed the trauma was just going to be her story, but Im glad Kane was there to protect her even when she gave him grief and even when he couldn’t protect her from the one person who shouldn’t have to protect her from he had people in his life that actually wanted his happiness to assist in her safety!! Five stars Ms. Reese!!🥰
Theresa Reese, oh my lawd. These folk right here gave me a total breakdown. I loved the twist and turns though. Misa drove me crazy. I wasn't surprised by Cynthia at all. I knew it was more than met the eye with her. They know Kane is to love him. I actually enjoyed him so much. His character had some real crazy things going on. I would be crazy to if I had gone through half of what these two went through. Good read🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
This book was A LOT! Misa went through hell with her donors. Then Kane’s donors. I ain’t no killa, but don’t push me! I still don’t trust her “friend” and the book is over. May those people never find me or my family. Kane was 10 toes down for Misa, and still let his weirdo mama’s actions lead him back to that female. P*$$3d me awf! It was so much going on, like, all the time. I didn’t expect to see a happy ending at all.
I wanted to wait to complete this book before leaving a review and let me say I was not disappointed. I experienced so many emotions but it was well worth the roller coaster ride. The way Misa and Kane’s story unfolded was something else but I’m glad they got the ending they both deserved.
This story was all over the place. And he has seen her in the bar before that night? But did the editor decide to not edit? I understand a few mistakes but that amount in this book and book 1 took a star away. Maybe it’ll be tightened up and make one book and rereleased.
Why did she keep getting kidnapped? Why were there so many people after her behind? Why did she have such bad luck? Both main characters had messed up family dynamics. I felt like I was on a roller coaster ride. Everytime that I thought we had the root of the issue then another player came into focus!
The amount of times I wanted to throw my device is unheard of. Every time I thought things cooled down here comes something else this book was so messy and filled with drama. Not one person could be trusted for real. The worst ones were the parents. Man listen if you don’t mind a little hair pulling stress then this is definitely the book for you!
This book series was so good. I really loved it! I couldn’t put the book down. I know that the second book ended the series but I feel like I need more. I also wouldn’t mind a spinoff about Tracey and her life. Good job Theresa you definitely kept me locked into this series. I’m sad it’s over! Y’all go get you a copy! There were some typos but that didn’t take away from the story!
Kane and Misa had opps coming from every direction!! This finale was amazing!! Heck Im usually pretty good about figuring out who the snake is but Theresa had me stomped!! I didnt know who it was until I read it!! Great book with great details and a awesome ending!!
OMG!!! what a ride I have read this book in one day I am so glad that Kane and Misa had finally have sense because they are made for each other. I really enjoyed this reading and I am so proud of this author keep it up!!!
It was so good. All the theories I had did not measure up to the actual outcome. It was sooooo good. Kane is step daddy of the year. But lawd him & Misa couldn’t catch a break. Everybody was raggedy.
Anywhere not me giggling like a school girl knowing Damon well Kane & Misa are toxic af lol. Kane is so unhinged but also has a soft side especially for Miss. Every chapter gave plot twist after plot twist. This book was deff worth the wait.
They couldn’t catch a break! Every way they turned they was surrounded by the OPPs! Not even knowing who the true OPP was! This book was so worth the wait. And that plot twist was bananas
Ok so boom, this book gave what it was supposed to give I did feel like homegirl was getting kidnapped too much but hey its not my book!! Overall loved the ending and the coming together tying in the title!!!
You want to talk about family drama!? Baybee! When you think you know what is fitna happen you realize you didn't. Like bruh come on. This was so good. And that ending was so peak. I loved this series real bad. Great way to start my year.
This story had me shook because why this woman couldn’t just listen. kane is definitely a menace. These people parents need to be gone because they were not right at all. Trust no one.
I really enjoyed the storyline, but felt that the book should’ve been edited better. A lot of misspelling and grammar mistakes to the point it was a few in every chapter.
But I recommend reading it, a lot of drama and will have you sitting on the edge.
Kane was a certified menace about his. Misa gave me an headache real bad. She definitely stressed me out in both books. There were a lot of plot twists.
