Judgement Day is the 3rd book in the A Town Called Fury. It tells the story of a group of tough settlers in Arizona, who defend Fury, against Apache's and are led by it's Sheriff Jason Fury.

The towns named after Jedediah Fury, the late trail boss who died leading them West to California, and settled in Arizona instead, along a creek. It's well written, one of several started, but unfinished books by the late legendary Western author William W. Johnstone, it's a series that I liked a lot, one that easily could have been continued and built into an epic series like Smoke, Preacher or Frank Morgan.

Sadly it's just four books, of which I've re-read books 1 thru3 and shortly will read the last in the series, Redemption. If you ever wonder what life was like for settlers heading West in wagon trains, definitely this series, A Town Called Fury will give you a pretty authentic perspective to what it was like and the struggle to build a town.

Plus Jason Fury, a tough likable character, much like Smoke Jensen, Preacher, Frank Morgan, Matt Bodine, Sam Two Wolves, Jamie, Falcon or Duff MacCallister, always seem to defend the ones who can't protect them self's, and all are brought too life by William's writing.

I know I always impatiently would eagerly await the next installment in his Western series, he aways put you right their, in the pages, and riding along with which ever series you were reading.

Highly recommend anything written by the late William W. Johnstone, bear in mind that his estate continued publishing his books, some of them are as close to his writing as you get, they honor the brand and others are just plain bad.

Lastly just wish that they would give the ghost writer credit, by putting their name on the book and at least let the reader decide whether to purchase it or not. For example, the defunct Ralph Compton Westerns did this, it enabled you to know by who wrote it to purchase it or skip it.

Really this is more like 2.5 stars for me. I just didn't like it as well as the first 2 books. It seems odd for hit and run types like Apaches to basically attempt a siege. The way they had Saul act at the beginning of the story just seemed a real stretch and didn't ring true and for the most part was just forgotten for the remainder of the book.

It started out slow and then it finally got up to it's normal rhythm like the other books after chapter 3. Still a great book, but not as thrilling and suspenseful as the second book. It did ,however; have some shocking moment and actually made me get goosebumps while reading, i will give it that.

Plenty of action as the town of Fury, Arizona is seemly under endless attacks by Apaches. The Sheriff has to be everywhere at once trying to protect the town and prompt it’s citizens to remain vigilant.

Jason Fury has little desire to be sheriff in a town named after his father, but the town disagrees. Fury is an out of the way town for pretty much everyone but Apaches. They had almost destroyed the town once but the town fold built back even better. It is a good thing too, because this time the Apache attack in force.

Third instalment of the town of Fury saga. With the town well established things never seem to settle down. Indian attacks force the town to fight for their lives once again. Maim characters taking arrows and fighting for their live. Love blossoms and falls apart on some fronts. Lots of action.

Another great read. This series just grabs hold of you and keeps you turning the pages. It is fast moving and the characters are rich and interesting. Looking forward to book four.

Legend Jedediah Fury and his son take a wagon train headed toward California, but a band of bloodthirsty Comanche's attack the train, killing some, including the legend. The son, Jason, takes over and nothing goes as planned and some inside of the group are on the verge of making a loud protest.
