This was a good read as you follow Sy the reporter but more like a rebel detective on the hunt for the serial killer known as the Slayer for her book.
She has a messy relationship with detective Adam for help. Sy as well is dealing with a stalker who is a bit delusional with their obsession of her.
Halfway through the plot twists twice throws Sy into situations that is similar to the movie Misery.

This thriller kept my attention, and had some good twists! I would have liked for the ending to be less abrupt. The author’s note at the end was interesting! 6.25/10.

Thank you very much to NetGalley and Thomas and Mercer for the advanced reader’s copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

While I can see it’s good for lovers of thrillers, I myself couldn’t get into it, I read about 12 chapters and it just didn’t grip me unfortunately. I’ll be reading this again at a later date though!
