Me vaatleme teisi enda ümber, otsime sihipärasust ja püüame konkreetses situatsioonis adekvaatselt reageerida.

Unlock Psychology in 10 Concise Chapters is exactly the kind of primer that feels both inviting and quietly clever — the sort of book you can dip into with a cup of tea and come away feeling as though you’ve opened a few new windows in your mind.
What struck me first is how clean and approachable it is. The chapters are short enough to absorb in one sitting, yet each one manages to distil a cornerstone of psychology without ever feeling rushed or simplified. Freud, Pavlov, behaviourism, cognitive theory — all the big names and ideas are here, but presented with a clarity that makes them feel newly accessible rather than academic hurdles to climb.
The full‑colour diagrams and infographics are genuinely helpful, not decorative. They give shape to concepts that can otherwise feel abstract, turning theories into something you can almost hold in your hands. It’s the kind of visual support that makes the subject feel less like a maze and more like a map.
What I enjoyed most is the tone: warm, steady, and never patronising. It reads like a gentle invitation into a field that can often seem intimidating from the outside. Whether you’re brushing up on old knowledge or stepping into psychology for the first time, this feels like a thoughtful place to begin — a foundation laid with care.
An engaging, beautifully clear introduction to the workings of the mind, perfect for curious readers who want substance without the heaviness. It leaves you with that quiet spark of wanting to learn more, which is exactly what an introductory guide should do.
With thanks to Emily Ralls, Tom Collins, the publisher and netgalley for the ARC

I received a review copy of this book from NetGalley and the publisher. This is a clear and accessible introduction to psychology, with short chapters covering key theories, experiments, and concepts, supported by diagrams and helpful vocabulary sections.
For me, it felt quite textbook in style, focusing more on summarising ideas than exploring them in depth. I found myself wanting a more reflective and nuanced approach as it felt dry to me.
That said, it’s very much a case of the right book for the right reader. Those looking for a concise, straightforward overview of psychology will likely find it useful; it just wasn’t quite the right fit for me.
