Pretty sure this is AI
I have heard about AI books but have never encountered them before.
So there have been a few times in the book where it was saying something and then followed with "as seen or heard from chapter 12".
Then one chapter left at a cliffhanger and the following chapter was a completely different scenario.
The book would have multiple different ways to phrase a sentence. Like the possible author couldn't decide which one sounded better.
So that made me investigate further.
So I tried looking at Amazon or good reads for reviews.
Then I couldn't find anything on the author. No socials.
Noticed that the author info on Amazon,they had multiple books from November 2025 to now.

Like the previous reviewer, I'm fairly certain this was AI generated. DNF after about 30%.
Plot points contradicted and there were references to previous events that never happened but that could be excused as mistakes and poor editing. However at the end of chapter 7, the main character hears someone approaching and is met by a suspicious person who threatens her a bit and puts her in a tense situation when the chapter ends. At the start of chapter 8, we are back to someone approaching and it's a different suspicious person with no mention of the previous events ever occurring. That's what really pushed it over the edge for me. I've certainly read poorly written books before as well as poorly edited ones but I think this is the first (suspected) AI generated one. Probably not the last though.

Guessed The Killer Early
It did not take me long to guess the killer. It was very obvious.
The FMC was likeable and very smart. However the book was just not that good.
