Grey Messiah: Freedom by F. J. R. Halbertsma
This is book two in the series, and I was beyond excited to continue Iva and Azaleum’s journey—and it did not disappoint. I completely devoured this book and couldn’t put it down for a second. Their story is immersive, emotional, and utterly gripping. ✨ Chef’s kiss 🤌🏼 from start to finish.
The character development is phenomenal. Watching Iva and Azaleum grow, adapt, and fight through the harrowing trials they face as siblings was both powerful and deeply moving. Their bond, resilience, and evolution throughout the story add so much depth and heart to the narrative.
The world-building continues to expand beautifully, the plot is intense and purposeful, and every challenge feels meaningful and earned. This book kept me fully invested in their journey and left me craving more.
I highly recommend this series to anyone who loves rich storytelling, strong character arcs, and an emotionally charged adventure. I cannot wait to see where the story goes next! 📖

Holy Messiah!!
If you thought the final battle scene in TOG was intense and enjoyed it, well buckle up because you get all that plus more AND THIS IS ONLY BOOK TWO!?!?!?! Holy heck is really all I can say. With the number of twists, character development, new characters, POV and cliffhangers. Your brain will not let you put this book down.
The political manipulations and ploys remind of the way of Animal Farm, but at least you KNOW what Halbertsma is saying. And not trying to figure out the satire with a bunch of animals, like in Animal Farm (at least for me anyway). I could go on and on but then I would be giving spoilers, so I will stop here for now.
Regardless, this is a must read! Bare minimum a place on your TBR. Holy heck, I need book three and some answers now! Please and thank you! Happy Reading :)
