Psycho Sitter

Rate this book
Like any other young person, 17-year-old Cassandra has a simple dream, and that is to become a therapist for troubled children. Little did she know that she’d soon need a little therapy herself…

Due to the nature of their jobs, Cassandra’s parents often took extended trips. One night, her father receives a call for him and his wife to come to Ghana, thousands of miles away. They couldn’t leave their teenage daughter and eight-year-old son alone for a week, and so they called the services of a sitter.

But when someone named Hunter arrived at their doorstep, Cassandra knew not to trust him. Something about him was not right, and this nagging suspicion gnawed at her. But would she and her brother be able to get out in time to figure out this stranger?
Or has he already set his eyes on the young and pure Cassandra, and was just waiting for the right moment?

My rating is one star. Do you wanna know why? It's because this book is abusive, and no one should read these stories much less write them. This book was about Harry Styles, if you didn't know...which you should because it has a picture of Harry Styles in the cover. Harry Styles is in One Direction, and he's nothing like an abusive jerk in this story, quite the opposite.
Harry, or Hunter, is abusive, both physically (hitting, kicking, etc.) and mentally (name calling, belittling, controlling, etc). He hits the girl, Cassandra, many times in the face. That is abuse. He calls her rude names, "bitch," and controls her. That is abuse. Do not romanticize it or dress it up. Abuse is still abuse and abuse is never okay. But nobody seems to care..? Oh, I know why. His behavior is excused because he has a mental condition. Okay, I guess that's quite okay. If I ever get into a relationship and he never seems to keep his hands off of me, I'll stay with him ONLY if he has a mental condition. ((sarcasm))
This story is on Wattpad, a website and an app, where young writers come together to create and explore and really encourage their creativity and writing skills. But if you inspect it, you'll see that the dominant genre is fanfiction that teenage girls wrote. Many include Harry Styles and Luke Hemmings. So, I wouldn't feel so proud about bragging to everyone you got published and it was all thanks to Wattpad.(I reported your story anyway and I'm waiting to get a reply from Wattpad.)
This is a miniature Anna Todd. Anna Todd is greedy and inconsiderate. She's not even a real fan seeing as she doesn't support the boys. Since when did fans in a fandom get their own fandom? Anna Todd thinks unhealthy relationships are entertaining! She describes After "Fifty Shades of Grey, add Harry Styles, minus the red room." After is a porn book. After After We Fell After We Collided After Ever Happy is abusive and unhealthy. Why is it so popular? I don't exactly know...
You're trying to cash in on money. You don't even care about Harry, do you? If you do, why would you publish it, knowing it could hurt him? You guys, with your abusive and unhealthy relationships, sicken me.
And then, if it wasn't abusive enough, you add domestic violence and rape. Like, who does that? If you were trying to make it realistic, then you failed.
Do you know what could happen? If a young girl, 16-, reads After, 5SOG, and this book, she's gonna grow up thinking that relationships like those are okay. She's gonna think it's okay and full of love, and she's gonna keep coming back to him because "he's sorry" and "he loves her." And who can forget, "I know I can change him"? (Women who read Fifty Shades of Grey, After , and other books that contain unhealthy and abusive relationships are more likely to end up with an abusive partner...)
In the end, the girl ends up with "Hunter." Falling in love with your abuser? Oh, okay, yeah, totally realistic. ((sarcasm again))
I would rate this zero stars if I could. I hope you realize what you have done and how disgusting this is.

Literally the worst book that I have ever picked up. Grammar mistakes left and right and there's no plot to it.

2.75 stars.

The story itself was interesting but I guess now I have read a lot of things like Psycho Sitter on Wattpad but it wasn't quite as satisfying as, for example, Baby Doll or Psychotic were for me. So, the only thing I probably liked was the idea of this book.

I was really irritated by the spelling errors and I felt like I was reading an ARC or something even less because well, there were quite a few issues with the editing of this story. I didn't feel as if it was in the hands of an editor at all nor I found any note of there being an editor. I get it though, the author is young - younger than I am - and I know the pain of writing and editing at the same time but at least she should've gone through the story very carefully before publishing it.

Also a lot of the backstories, like Lily's, were touched so briefly that it left a lot of questions hanging for me. I would've also liked to learn more about Hunter as well as Zach. It was just that the events happened too quickly in a row and I feel like there should've been more base to it, like Cassandra's parents being at home before leaving and a bit of her school life.

I feel like I'm being overly criticizing so I will stop because I don't mean any harm by writing this brief review. If Alex is reading this and feels offended, I'm sorry and I hope you understand. :)

I've read the book on Wattpad and one thing about the book is it will catch you with surprises every now and then.Harry's(Hunter's) character is great and I suggest you read the the book with your friends because you will need someone to pass a comment on Cassandra's Intelligence during the whole story ;P

And Andrea I hope the book will be the bestseller and becomes a movie with Harry being the main character!!!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. The narration was excellent, I thought the concept was interesting, the execution however sometimes made it hard to push forward with the book. I liked the book enough to finish it.

This book could've been better. But the author worked for this. I'm just saying , is making a more trashy book possible ?

Sometimes I like to delve into a good thriller. This was recommended to me, and I have to say, it had me from the first chapter. I was on the edge of my seat! Cassandra is left home with her younger brother, waiting for the sitter that will stay with them while their parents are in Australia. Who shows up? A sitter that they did not expect. Hunter takes these two and from there you will be entranced. Should you like Hunter? Is he crazy? Will these two survive? It has a very interesting plot, that will keep you guessing, all the way to the very end. There are unusual twists and turns, keeping you listening. I loved the complexity of the characters. Cassie is young, but is very intelligent. Her brother is resilient and Hunter had me wondering if I should love him or hate him! I love this kind of story, making me think and kept surprising me.

Narrated by Layla Smith, she had an insight to the story, bringing not only accents, but inflections that fit the each character. I found that she enhanced the suspense and really brought the story to life.

What a ride. So much happens in this book and you will be questioning things while listening. I even question a bit now that’s it’s over and have a bit of a book hangover. Definitely a good listen if you are looking for a thriller.
The narration on this book is by far the best choice for its reading.

One word...
AMAZING!
God! I am so thankful that my friend introduced me to this book! It's no ordinary book with those cliche shit. Reading this book is like eating bacon and eggs in the morning, just perfect, SICK and PERFECT.

I would read this every time I got a chance to,then my friends would tell me, "Man, you're sick!" but the truth is, they are missing a lot of things!

When I'm reading this, it's like an escape from reality. As if I'm having my own creepy, rambunctious adventure, a realm of pure, sick bliss.

This book is truly one of a kind!

This book is so good, when you've begun you want to keep on reading because it's extremely exciting. There are some parts that are nerve-wracking because you don't know what will happen, but thats an awesome feature of the book. It isn't predictable what keeps you reading.

I highly recommend this book to everyone.

This book was great. My friend told me about it at school, so I got home and read it. She had already spoiled the plot, but I was still surprised at all the twist and turns. This was so awesome, and it great to also share it with my friends so we could discuss it and get extremely excited for the release. I hope this book can go far, because it truly deserves it!

Psycho Sitter is probably one of the best I've ever read.
Alexandria writing is so unique, and God it's just perfect.
My favourite chapter has to be 46 especially towards the end when she used that poem by Robert Frost 'Nothing Gold Can Stay.' I love this story sooo much, and I do highlight recommend it.
