Veteran F1 journalist Mark Hughes unearths the true foundations that have enabled Lewis Hamilton, a personable and down-to-earth 22-year-old, from a sleepy village in Hertfordshire to achieve the most successful start to a career the sport has ever seen.
This is a fan's book. It is not objective; phrases such as 'The guy is a phenomenon' don't give a balanced view. Reading this you could be led to believe Hamilton is the greatest racing driver the world has ever seen. The author certainly never misses an opportunity to heap praise on him, and even compared him to Jesus among his disciples. I can't argue that Hamilton is not a good driver but I do not believe he's God's gift to F1 as this author clearly does.
5/5. I wish it was longer. Nothing but respect for Lewis Hamilton and his father and this book made me respect him even more. You do not have to be the biggest fan of F1 to enjoy the book. If you enjoy real strories of people from low income family making it in their life despite all the challenges and discrimination, then this book is for you
