Wrong Number

Rate this book
When a wrong number turns into a once-in-a-lifetime connection, one impulsive call changes everything.Emery never planned on answering calls meant for an escort named Olivia, but when one smooth-talking stranger mistakes her for someone else, curiosity wins. What starts as playful banter turns into a wild offer she can’t one night on the arm of billionaire winemaker Marco De Luca.

It’s supposed to be simple. Fake smiles, fancy dresses, no strings.

But under the Tuscan sun, simplicity turns into something far more complicated—chemistry that feels too real, half-truths that spiral out of control, and a love neither of them saw coming.

When pride, family expectations, and betrayal collide, Marco and Emery are forced to decide what’s real—and what’s worth fighting for.

A wrong number.

A fake relationship.

A love that refuses to stay a mistake.

Hey everyone, I'm LS Phoenix, and I live in a small town in New England. I’ve been with my high school sweetheart since I was 16, we married in our mid 20’s and had 3 amazing children who are now the best well rounded adults I know. They keep me on my toes and bring endless joy to my life. I’m not sure where I would be without any of them in my life.
Now, here's how I ended up in the world of writing. I’m an avid reader myself and one day as I was reading a book I thought, hmm, I can do this. I used to write when I was in school and I always loved it. I’m a very creative person, sometimes too creative. Is that a thing? Anyway, an idea pops into my head, and it gets stuck and won't go away until I write it all down. then it just spiraled from there and I kept writing. So yeah, I dove headfirst into a sea of words and emotions, all because my brain just wouldn't let it go, and I’m completely okay with that! I love writing!
I'm all about soaking in the beauty of the world and finding inspiration around me. Each character I create, every twist I write, is a reflection of the journey we call life. So I hope you’ll join me on this ride. I can't wait to share my stories and characters with you.

Happy Reading!

Almost 400 pages & you can read in one sitting, it is that good!!! I loved the balance of family to spice. Neither part was too much. Emery is such a sweet innocent girl and Marco holy moly Italian stallion. Yes please! Hahaha I loved this & cannot wait to read Ava’s story.

Wrong Number is one of those romances that sneaks up on you—in the best way. What starts as a simple mix‑up blossoms into a story packed with heart, vulnerability, and the kind of emotional payoff that makes you hug the book when you’re done.

L.S. Phoenix leans into the chaos of a mistaken connection, but what really makes this story shine is how grounded it feels. The characters aren’t perfect; they stumble, they misjudge, they make choices that hurt. And that’s exactly why their journey works. The mistakes aren’t just plot devices—they’re catalysts for growth, honesty, and some truly satisfying groveling that feels earned rather than performative.

The romance itself is tender and deep, built on genuine connection rather than insta‑love shortcuts. You feel the longing, the tension, the ache of wanting to do better for someone who suddenly matters more than you expected. By the time the love story settles into its final shape, it feels like something the characters fought for—and deserved.

If you love romances with emotional sincerity, imperfect people trying their best, and a love story that grows stronger through vulnerability, Wrong Number delivers beautifully. It’s heartfelt, a little messy, and ultimately full of the kind of deep love that lingers long after the last page.

Although the crossed-numbers/fake-dating cliché is well-known, L. S. Phoenix adds an entertaining twist that heightens the suspense and emotional impact of the narrative. Since their first encounter, there has been an obvious chemistry between the two MCs. It's somewhat predictable, but that's part of its appeal. Watching their relationship grow was enjoyable, and I laughed a few times at their light-hearted banter.

If you're looking for a light-hearted romance, this book is perfect. It works well as a palate cleanser, but people who like real romantic vibes with a fake dating twist will also find it appealing.

When you turn the last page of this charming, entertaining, and easy-to-fall-in-love-with romance, you will smile 💕.

This was a unique twist on a meet-cute with fake dating added in, and I really enjoyed watching it all unfold. It’s a fast-paced story, which worked well for me. The book delivers those warm, cozy vibes you love in a contemporary romance, with just the right amount of drama mixed in. Marco and Emery both have their own hang-ups to work through, and I loved seeing the family moments woven in as everything played out. Let’s talk about Marco, Mr. Delicious 😋 He definitely had some groveling to do, and I may have enjoyed that part a little extra 😉 Emery was just so entertaining in her own right→loved her. Everything wraps up with a happy ending, making this such a wonderful, feel-good read.

A very unique way to meet someone that was purely accidental. Marco was looking for a fake girlfriend to keep his family from bugging him about marriage. So, he ends up dialing Emery's number, which was posted in error on an escort site, and things got heated from the first meeting. They stage a fake relationship, but it soon begins to feel real for both of them. The chemistry is undeniable and the banter is very engaging. Marco is hesitant to give voice to his feelings which makes him less trustful of Emery. Then Marco's ex overhears a conversation between Emery and her best friend Ava and uses that to sabotage their connection. Marco's betrayal is very brutal and humiliating during a family dinner. Can he gain Emery's forgiveness and trust again?

I absolutely loved Marco and Emery. One wrong number turns into an exciting adventure with Marco and his family in Italy. Marco is gorgeous, charismatic, and sexy. Did I mention hot? When Emery’s number ends up on a call girls page to be contacted for a good time, she never expected her wrong number to turn out to be Mr. Right. Then chemistry is off the charts, Emery being him out of the shell he’s been in, makes him laugh and when they cross the line from fake dating to something more serious, there is always a jealous ex waiting somewhere to wreak havoc. I can’t wait for Enzo and Ava’s book next. Amazing read!!

Y'all - add this to TBR immediately!!

Marco and Emery had undeniable chemistry from the first moment they text. I think he fell for her the moment she got out of the Limo.

The dialog between Ava and Em is perfect - it is clear they are BFFs. Ava might be my spirit animal when she said “Come on. We’re going to Target. This meltdown is too big for the apartment, we need fluorescent lights and retail therapy.” I felt that in my bones.

Before Em heads out on her night with Marco - Ava drops this gem - “You’ve got this. Just remember, you’re not a hooker. You’re an expensive fantasy.”

This book has everything - a grumpy sunshine MMC and all the spice one could ask for. One thing L does great is tasteful spice! It is never too much and always just right. There is the buildup and the 3rd act breakup - and oh so much groveling by Marco!! I could go on and on - his family adores her - his ex is a first class B who can't mind her own business!

I hope you love it as much as I do!! I was both an alpha and ARC reader for Wrong Number - thank you L for trusting me!

This book hooked me from page 1 and never lost my interest. I quite literally read this in one sitting. I couldn’t put it down. There’s really great balance to the book. Wrong numbers/fake dating is a well loved trope in my library. But this author put a unique spin on it. This book has intrigue and growth that just keeps you saying one more chapter. Watching the relationship between the MCs go from fake (with obvious real chemistry) to what it ended as is both entertaining and endearing. And Marco understands how to grovel. Oooffff he’s too much, I love it. Emery is so sassy and the banter between them will make you giggle hard core. I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

Like always LS Phoenix makes an amazing book. This one was so cute, sweet, emotional, sexy, angry, happy, all of the feelings in one book. I loved how sassy the FMC is in this book but she also wears her heart on her sleeve. I would love to have a hot Italian MMC like Marco in this book. His character really brought the story together. This book has some spice but it’s not over done which was great as I needed a palate cleanser. I can say that I am looking forward to the next book as Ava was another of my favorite characters during this book.

This book was the perfect palate-cleanser for me🤌🏻😩🖤, especially since I’ve been reading a lot of romantasy lately. I was hooked from the very start ( U had me at fake dating), and I found myself unable to put it down (the writing style was so engaging nd easy). I absolutely luuuved the sass and playful banter between the MCs; their interactions kept me giggling throughout the whole book😳💖. Overall, if u want a steamy romance that's intense, messy, and emotional... u've found the right book!

First of I want to say thank you to LS Phoenix for the ARC opportunity.

“Funny how one wrong changed everything.”

I absolutely loved the banter and chemistry between the two main characters Emery and Marco. What started off as a job of fake dating turned into something real, until a twist of events happened.

If you want a romance that is steamy and emotional story this book is for you.

Holy crap this book had me in a vice. There was grovel, there was so much love, there were spicy scenes. There was drama! The writing made you feel for both characters. It made you feel all the heartache. There was a twist i didn't expect. I love that it enhanced the story and the love, but it wasn't the sole focus. I would 100% recommend this story!

All I can say is wow! This book gripped me and I couldn’t stop reading it. The author perfectly articulated the characters and how they enter acted with each other. And the drama! It was so gripping kind of like a soap opera but better! This is a must read!
