Rate this book
As a foreign exchange student at the University of Cologne, Noelle Nielsen befriends Swen, her assigned international liaison- fluent in both English and German. Unfortunately, this wasn't what Brett, her boyfriend back home in the states, had in mind when she signed up to study abroad last semester at the University of Chicago.

Amid taking classes, managing homework, learning a new language and culture, Noelle must safeguard the secrets hidden within the Keeper's Codex in order to preserve her past and future. If this wasn't enough to make Noelle lose her mind, her best friend is missing, and the Grotesques are after her again.

Fortunately, Noelle isn't alone. She has the support of the Guardians and Archbishop to get her through the most direr of situations in Keep Safe- Book II of the Dust to Flesh Series.

I reside in the quaint town of Plainwell, MI with my husband and three little princesses. As a wife and mother, I keep myself busy with carpooling, volunteering, cleaning, cooking, teaching, and watching the Disney Channel way more than I ever imagined. In my spare time, I work out, write, garden, teach Sunday School, read, swim, and research genealogy.

As a YA writer, my goal is to rouse booklovers everywhere to read and write. I believe writing is advantageous and therapeutic for all ages. Whether it is penning fiction or nonfiction, great things WILL blossom! This is why I choose to write. I want to teach, inspire, challenge, and encourage those around me and generations to come.

My future writing plan includes: Finishing Keep Safe and Unleashed (Book II and III of the Dust to Flesh Series), starting a military memoir (based off my husband’s experiences overseas), an autobiography, and a historical romance that transcends time and race.

Keep Safe is the middle book of a trilogy, and it definitely helped to have read Dust to Flesh first. Our heroine Noelle continues to balance being a normal college student and also being part of an ancient struggle between good and evil. At times, I disliked Noelle due to her being self-centered (probably quite normal for her age) but she is never boring. Once again RL Stoll provides a detailed setting for her story, this time the German city of Cologne. Her descriptions of the city make me want to visit it, and wish the book had pictures of the attractions. The fantasy aspects of the story are more detailed than in the first book, but still leave plenty open for the sequel

It was a very good read. It kept my attention and I didn't want to put it down once I started reading it. My only disappointment was Noelle giving into her temptation involving Brett. Otherwise, I enjoyed everything else about it.
