Although he claimed to love her with everything in him, his own problems made it hard for him to show his love without resorting to aggressive behavior or even using his fists at times. I have so much about this book! Let's start off by saying how much I hated everyone in this book. Jasmine Matthews AKA Sunshine is your normal naive, young girl that wants to date a " bad boy". Well, she definitely hit the jackpot with her man, Monsta. Monsta was the biggest piece of crap to ever exist. After Sunshine spills the news she's carrying his child, Monsta is elated, however, even with a baby on the way, he still treats and talks to Sunshine like crap. Physically, verbally,. and emotionally abusing her on a constant every day basis. When it wasn't that, it was him always harassing and forcing her to have sex.

Montez Caldwell AKA Monsta witnessed his father get murdered in front of him when he was young. To the present day, he carries the guilt of not paying attention that night and causing the demise of his father. Since that tragic day, Monsta hasn't been the same. Even his own mother sees it. Unfortunately, like many people in Monsta's life, Mrs. Caldwell has felt his wrath. She's convinced there's something wrong with him (well, duh!). How else can you describe someone who pulls a gun on his own mother and the mother of his unborn child, someone who kills people with no remorse, someone who betrays his girl on many occasions on top of that?

Love Scars is full of family drama, regular drama, and drama drama. It's messy, toxic, it will make you mad, it will make you cry, and it will make you want to throw the damn book against the wall.
Love Scars is very intense so please do read at your own discretion. I enjoyed it overall, but I will say the book had me pissed off from the first page to the very last. It's been a few years since I read an urban fiction book. Glad to see they still suck me in like the good ole High School/ College days.

The book was enjoyable; nice plot. i felt it moved just a bit too fast. I felt some things could have been a bit more detailed when it came to the characters
