I'll have to fight through friendly monsters that want to eat me, insane Dark Elves, and a stereotypically evil empire led by a stereotypically evil God King just to get the heck to the surface—all that as a blob made out of purple goo.

Well, anyway, I'm starving. Is there anything to eat around here? Seriously, I could scarf down a whole village!

This was such a fun book! Tara Sands was a great narrator who kept me engaged the whole time. I'm very new to the Gamelit/LitRPG genre, and this was the first isekai story that I've read, but this book basically solidified my liking of this sub genre. The only things I disliked about this were the meme references and the fact that one of the characters was 5. Years from now, when someone reads the book, will they recognize the memes? Probably not. And I feel like that'll take away from enjoying the story. And the one character being 5 didn't feel right. The way she talked and acted was more like a 7 or 8 year old, in my opinion. Overall, this book was hilarious! Every encounter the main characters had with enemies had me laughing. It was a nice pallet cleanser. And even though it was something that's pretty silly, so you don't have to take it too seriously, you still find yourself growing attached to the characters. I can't wait for the next one!
