Gotta say I’m enjoying this trip down those Dark Lanes 🤭
Jessica isn’t playing his game anymore, though Kane does pull her into some by making it a challenge and naturally Jessica can’t resist trying to win! They are still getting to know one another, but there are secrets that Kane keeps close to his chest. Jessica finds out he’s paid her mother’s medical bills and soon realises he’s becoming much more to her than she wanted to believe but he feels the same way about her. Though Kane’s father still has a tight hold on the reins by means of holding those close to him to ransom, if you will. Their relationship moves further than just their caranal pleasures but will it all come to a head? Can their love withstand the divide of their lives?

Another great book in the Dark Lanes series, picking straight up from where book 1 ended.
With more Jessica and her stubbornness and Kane with his filthy mouth. I love how their budding relationship grows bit by bit as they allow themselves to be vulnerable with each other. Also Kane being possessive as hell is so hot 🥵

This book was fast paced with plenty of drama and I just knew there was going to be some some of cliffhanger but Harleigh you're killing me with that ending!!
I need the next book immediately, I am ready for some revenge!!

Midnight chase book 2
Wow, this book took me on a full emotional roller coaster. I was giggling one minute, feral the next, then hit with anger, and sadness.
Kane's obsession with Jessica is equal parts terrifying and swoon worthy, and honestly I'm obsessed right along with him. I love how Kane takes what he wants and expects Jessica to do the same.
Jessica is fierce, bratty, and unapologetic, and I loved everything about her.
I also desperately wanted to jump into the pages and unalive both MCs' fathers... and maybe Chris a little too.
The story drops just enough hints that clearly set things up for future books, and I'm already guessing how it's all going to unfold. And that ending!!! Why do authors insist on cliffhangers like that?! Low key love it.
Bring on Dark Pursuit!

I should probably wait to write this so my heart can recover but I don’t want to forget a thing.
Midnight Chase picks up where Fatal Collision leaves off and I love that.
Their relationship blossoms in this part and all the little pieces that build between them just make you root for these star crossed lovers even more.
Their lives and families just keep trying to tear them apart and I was anxious for the last 10% knowing something was going to happen.
It did. It sucks. And it really freaking hurts.
But it just makes me all the more excited for what’s going to happen in book three. Because a woman scorned is a woman to be weary of and man I can’t wait to see that unfold.
Also… keep an eye on the side characters because you’ll want those breadcrumbs for what’s coming down the line.

Phew… What a rollercoaster of a book that was!!
Harleigh Beck continues to blow my mind with the latest book in the series.
You know that feeling you get when you’re scared or on a ride, that feeling of adrenaline and anticipation? Well I have just finished reading Midnight Chase and that feeling still hasn’t left me, I have a ball of anticipation sitting in my stomach and I’m not entirely sure it will disappear, well at least not until I read the next book.
Calling this book good would be a massive understatement, the truth is that this book has it all. There’s the obvious story of Kane Ravencourt and Jessica Holt Two people from the opposite sides of the tracks and their ever growing love for one another. But underneath what should be a sweet, butterfly inducing connection you have all the danger of Kane’s abusive, secret society dwelling, ass of a father, the scheming and conniving senators wife who has her vile sights set directly on Kane, as well as the every day life obstacles that are between them like Jessica’s somewhat overbearing brother who makes his disapproval of their relationship clear from the minute he finds out about them, as well as the mounting medical bills from their mothers illness, plus there is the very clear wealth divide that stands between them, a divide that may just be the thing that breaks them.
Something else I liked about this book in particular (besides the obvious entertainment) was the way it showcased that although they came from vastly different backgrounds, they still faced similar hardships. With many of them almost seeming to mirror each other.
I can’t really explain that one though without giving spoilers so all I will say is that this was definitely one of the best books I’ve read in a while, not only is it well written and entertaining but the story is written in such a way that it grips you from the very first page right through to the last one, will Kane and Jessica ever get their HEA? Will they overcome the obstacles in their way? Will they stand together in the face of the danger that follows them or will they break and be forced into heartbreak?
I can honestly say that I quite literally can’t wait to see what happens next fingers crossed we wont have long to wait!!

Midnight Chase is book 2 in the Dark Lanes series and picks up right where book 1 left off.
A good way to describe this particular storyline is Romeo and Juliet meets Fast and the Furious. It's a contemporary, darkish romance about 2 people living on the "opposite side of the tracks" from each other.
The MMC, Kane, is the son of a "founding family" in the affluent side of town. I love his character, which offers a dark back story and lots of dirty secrets and twisted activities. There's a lot of trauma, both past and present, that is slowly being uncovered and I think it makes him someone to root for.
The FMC, Jessica, grew up on the poor side of town. Supported mainly by her brother, she and her siblings struggle through a daily grind all whilst trying to keep their dying mother comfortable and a largely absentee, alcoholic father in the back of their minds.
A lot of the plot revolves around her initial break in that occurred in book 1. But there is also a lot of bonding and banter between the two, as well as a metric ton of smut.
I especially enjoyed how Kane's twin brother, Cash came into play a few times. It added a lot of zest to an already spicy situation.
Can't wait for the story to continue with book 3 because this had a major cliffy that can't be ignored.

What did I just read. I feel like I was just thrown into emotional turmoil and scrambled like nothing.
Book 1 grabbed me by throat and held me to the point I needed more.
Now book 2? It started off so good. The way they blossomed and their love grew and it was beautiful. It happened quick but it was beautiful and it felt so right like despite it all they were going to be end game. Like they were made for each other. I was here for it all.
Then enters controlling daddy dearest. That man is a piece of work and not in a good way. He disgusts me. When you read you’ll see. How a father and husband can do the things he’s doing just sickens me. He’s wrong on sooooo many levels.
This girls mom is literally dying, her brother is a jerk, she’s not fully there for her sister and I mean I get it she’s dealing with a lot and he was the only light in the bullsh—- life she’s dealing with.
But then I believe it was chapter 22. His sperm donor literally just did the unthinkable. And lets his sin get dru-g— and -aped. Basically sold him. And then he gets threatened by this predator.
What really broke me more than anything? She goes with her friends to look for him and he’s with another chick and doesn’t bat an eye, that hurt. It’s like you fall for someone, give them everything you can and every piece of you. And then you feel betrayed like how can you do that. My heart is breaking because I can relate to that feeling.
Yes it’s another cliffhanger and yes I need more because I need to know it’s going to get better and certain people will get removed!

If you guys thought that Kane was obsessed in Fatal Collision you are in for a treat. This man’s mouth is so filthy and he is so cocky that he’s boarderline psychotic😏.. Say it with me A 🍆 WITH A PERSONALITY.
The banter between Jessica and Kane made me so giddy and I was literally kicking my feet while beta-reading! THIS BOOK IS PERFECTION. I need every side character in this book to have their own book, especially Malice🫥👀.
But let’s not forget the trauma Kane & his twin brother Cash endure at the hands of their father. Kane’s father aka head of The Ravencourts is one of the founding families, secret society and all of that and he expects that Kane will one day take over. Okay wow. What did I just read and why am I emotionally unwell about it.
This book picks up and does not let you breathe. The tension, the drama, the obsession, the chemistry… all of it had me glued to the pages like I physically could not stop. Jessica is DONE playing games and Kane absolutely lives for pushing her buttons, challenging her, pulling her deeper even when she knows she should probably run. Okay wow. What did I just read and why am I emotionally unwell about it.
This book picks up and does not let you breathe. The tension, the drama, the obsession, the chemistry… all of it had me glued to the pages like I physically could not stop. Jessica is DONE playing games and Kane absolutely lives for pushing her buttons, challenging her, pulling her deeper even when she knows she should probably run. holy crap the cliffhanger was CRIMINAL!!!!!
midnight chase perfectly expanded upon the already steaming hot connection between Kane and Jessica. the longing, pining, and pure obsession with each other led to them beginning to tear down their walls to let each other in and show their true selves, darkest fears, and desires. & my heart shattered when Kane tried to do whatever he could to help with Jessica’s mom’s cancer treatments and paying off her family’s debt. he didn’t have to, but he chose to.
my heart also broke when we saw more into the secret society and schemes of Kane’s father. everything Kane does is to protect his loved ones which is the polar opposite of his father who uses those loved ones as leverage to get what he wants. I love Kane so much it hurts watching him have to hurt Jessica to protect her from the darkness.
with how this story ended, I am gutted but not surprised at Kane’s actions. I will note, his brother having such a visceral reaction has me on high alert. I cannot wait to see how their story evolves in dark pursuit!
side note. . I wonder how Kane will react when he learns that Jessica has the dagger, I really thought we’d get that scene in this book and I’m on the edge of my seat in anticipation.

Another amazing book in the Dark Lanes series, continues right where the first book, Fatal Collision ended.
The dynamic between Kane and Jessica continued to be great and I really enjoyed their relationship development. I loved how even though their upbringings are completely different and they’re from different worlds, there’s still some similarities in their lives and pasts and I think those helped them to really understand each other more and better.
Like the first book in the series, this one was also fast paced and full of action. And that ending!! I need the next book like right now!

I was so excited to get back into Kane & Jessica’s world. The Dark Lane series has easily become a favorite and this dark romance is addictive and spicy as hell.
The banter between these two is my favorite. I found myself grinning like a damn fool reading this. Kane is just something else entirely and I am head over heels. The MOUTH on that man is insane.
I LOVE the power dynamic between Kane & Jessica and how they balance each other out even though they have so many obstacles in their way. The connection between them is instant and electric and you just can’t look away. It’s so fucking addictive.
The plot is thickening and page after page my heart was racing. The little plot turns & twists and that ENDING.
There were so many moments of Midnight Chase where I was laughing, crying or fanning myself off. Harleigh you never fail to create such amazing stories and characters. I am so damn excited to see how this continues. I am utterly OBSESSED with this series.

The story is intense and emotionally charged, focusing on a dangerous, all-consuming romance where Kane, the MMC, is willing to defy everyone. His father, his friends, and even the Jessica's (FMC) family to keep her. The book has dark tones and is passionate. The chemistry between the Kane and Jessica is electric, and the plot is driven by their willingness to burn every rule and boundary to stay together.
This book is full with tension. I especially loved that scene with Kane's twin brother Chase, where they are all in the same room. (you will know what scene I mean when you get there).
Kane and Jessica are both as stubborn as mules and Kane can be a real number. They are a great pair together.
The last part of the book has some scenes that left me speechless and makes that this book ends inconclusive so I'm quite sure there will be another book in this series.

I seriously cant thank her team enough for letting me read the second book early. I was literally stuck in the world she created from the first book and NEEDED to find out what happens next. Harleigh's writing and her worlds and storyline are just so engaging! Her characters are raw and real.

Kane and Jessica’s story is has me in a complete chokehold right now. I NEED BOOK 3 RIGHT NOW. That ending is killing meeee. I need to know how this is all going to play out for my baby Kane 😭 the way that his heart has started to open up for Jessica and how much he cares for her.. he is such a layered MMC and I love him so much. Jessica is so relatable for how she feels and thinks about herself.
While reading i kept feeling like i was getting gut punched over and over again. 😖 please Harleigh, don’t keep me waiting long for book 3!!!!

I love the dual POV and how each character feels like you're actually looking through a different person's perspective. Sometimes with a dual POV, it doesn't always feel like the characters are truly different and Harleigh did such a good job on this one!
Kane and Jessica put me together, broke me apart, put me back together, only to wreck me again. Something about Kane's experience throughout this series is just heartbreaking and I want to punch his dad.

Was so ready to dive into this after book one. Was hooked from the start. Loved Kane even more in this one. The spice was spicing but loved getting to see more of Kane and Jessica develop and their background stories. Loathe Mr. Ravencourt. Can't wait to see what happens in Book three. Definitely worth the read.

What a wild ride. Book 2 is even more deep and depraved. The filthy words that Kane says have me drooling. In this book we get a deeper connection between Jessica and Kane and get to experience them. They learn who they are and what shapes them and all the kinks they are into. Loved it so much. The ending…… ☠️

I could not wait to arc read this and was so excited and honoured to be chosen-i cannot wait for more of these guys story to unfold and im desperate for certain characters to get what i hope is coming to them. Ahhh! I never want this trilogy to end! Jessica and Kane are everything and this dark romance is exactly what I needed in my life. Book 3 needs to come out asap!
