Twenty-SIX short stories.

Each one starts normal… and ends with a twist you won’t forget.

This anthology brings together everyday moments that slowly turn dark a phone that rings at the wrong time, a neighbor who watches too closely, a message that wasn’t meant for you, a door left slightly open.

Simple things. Small mistakes. Secrets people never meant to reveal.

Every story begins with something familiar, but none of them end the way you expect.

Inside these pages, you’ll

Fast, gripping stories you can read in one sitting

Real characters caught in sudden, life-changing moments

Twists and surprises that keep you turning the pages

A mix of suspense, emotion, and quiet unease that lingers long after you finish

Featuring stories like For Someone Else, She Told Me, Check the Door, The Live Stream, Under the Bed, and The List, this collection is perfect for readers who enjoy short, intense, and addictive fiction.

If you love stories that are easy to read but impossible to forget, this anthology is for you.

Disappointing

I really wanted to like this but it’s full of way to many errors and a crap load of inconsistencies. The author dos have potential but needs to stop rushing her writing.

Came upon zyn.tale on Threads and loved the short stories I found. They were a quick ready, with just the right amount of suspense and kept me a great company while waiting for a plane.

It’s a fast-paced, engaged read, although some stories felt a tad unfinished - bit more of a closure or explanation would be great, but all in all I definitely recommend it to all of the short stories lovers who long for the „scary stories” that were told late at night at every single sleepover!

Needs some polishing but has promise!

I love this author on threads, their stories are unique and haunting. So when I saw they dropped an anthology I was really excited! Unfortunately, these stories don’t tie together as anthologies typically do and most of the stories were available in full via threads. The way the chapters were written were very much identical to the way they’re written on Threads which I think is a mistake- you can keep the short story them while also expanding the story structure to fit that of a book versus a text limited app.
The author also needs to go back through and edit this more carefully- there are several formatting errors and duplicate pieces of text riddled throughout the book. Self-publishing is a remarkable feat and I don’t mean to take away from that- I would just love to see more attention to detail moving forward.

Came here via the author’s Substack. The stories in the book which had featured on Substack before were noticeably more polished than the others in this book - yet still riddled with errors and inconsistencies. Some of the stories were so inconsistent that they were nonsensical. It is quite sad because the author clearly has potential but it felt like most of these stories had been written in one draft with no proofreading whatsoever. Curiously, it also seems that wherever the author intends an em-dash, there is a double space instead. Finally, a lot of these stories are very similar, both tonally and in plot. This is less noticeable on Substack, but when grouped together, it becomes a bit much.

This was an interesting book. The stories were short and strange, but some were legitimately creepy and gripping. Others were somewhat fractured and scattered. The stories jumped around a bit and often seemed to assume you knew information that wasn't given. There were a LOT of typos and repeated lines of text. But the stories that were good were really quite good and made this short book well worth the read. I hope to see more from this new author, I am looking forward to watching their style and talent grow.

Don't read at night!

These short stories are brilliant, some of them genuinely gave me shivers and had me wanting to hide under the duvet!

There's a few editing errors in a couple of the stories, mostly repeated sentences or in the story with the car accident they leave early to go home and then a few sentences later they leave again to go home, not major issues but did make me do a double take.

Would still highly recommend this collection of short stories

I enjoyed the short stories, but some of them felt too incomplete. Some of them could be turned into complete stories. Maybe the short stories just aren’t for me because I wanted more from some of them!! Loved the ones I read on threads though!

great book

This was a good book but I feel like some of the stories left me hanging and a bit confused. I know she’s a new author and the stories were excellent but half of them i didn’t understand the ending. I’ll definitely be reading more from this author.

It's a self published book from someone that I saw on Threads. It's a compilation of short stories that end at a cliffhanger. They're *ok* a few gave me chills, some of them were a flop, and I don't think the last 25% or so was edited at all. It was ok.

mystery read

I read a short snippet of one of this author’s stories on TikTok and fell in love with it. I was hungry to read more. Found this book on kindle and downloaded it. I read each story and loved them.

Found this via short form stuff on threads. Honestly the ones on threads were creepier and more interesting but still cool to see a renaissance for super short creepypasta style flash horror.
