Princess Flame
I am not happy that I have to rearrange my schedule to meet my friend at a restaurant to listen to her lament about her self-imposed heartbreak. In the middle of her embarrassing report, a girl walks over to our table and takes a seat because someone dares her to do it. I cannot understand what makes her look at me and still decides to take the risk. Most people can feel my energy of resistance and stay clear, but this young woman's vision is clouded by what she claims is an instant crush and gladly accepts a very stupid challenge that leads her right into my wrath.
I waste no time in letting her know that I have no patience or interest in her little game. I am an adult with adult responsibilities, and I do not believe in crushes and frolics. My friend finds humor in the intrusion and she invites the girl to join us. I happily bid them goodbye and leave the restaurant, taking with me the images of Julia’s beautiful blue eyes and a smile that could melt any heart - except mine. I am not led by emotions. I am serious about life, and there is no room in my world for her pigtails, her baggy pants, or her silly games.
Everyone understands their place outside of the walls I have built, so how the hell did this girl find her way behind them? I know how to keep everyone out, but I have no idea what to do about someone who is already on the inside.
