Just finished the book, Becoming Good Men by Donnie Griggs. This book was loaned to me by the athletic Director of Gramercy Christian School, a young man with influence over many young men. My biggest takeaway is that Becoming Good Men is a process. Donnie Griggs says, “Finishing well is not something that will happen by default or accident.” It is a process that requires intentional direction towards answering the question, “what kind of man do you want to be?” The author provides ample examples and recommendations towards becoming good men. Moving with intentional direction involves prioritizing daily habits, engaging with a community of like-minded brothers, and receiving and providing mentorship. The author presents many modern-day challenges for men and conveys biblical examples and direction for living towards becoming good men. I highly recommend this book loaded with many shared personal stories by the author of his own shortcomings, challenges, and lessons learned as a man striving to become a good man.
