But, in the spirit of the Guinness Book of Records, there are so many other things we could compete on! Here are some suggestions. Please feel free to write in with corrections/additions, and I will update accordingly:
The highest rated book we can find with at least 1,000 ratings is The Complete Calvin and Hobbes (4.82 average rating on 31,496 ratings).
Book with lowest average rating
The lowest rated book we have found with at least 1,000 ratings is L. Ron Hubbard's Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health (2.32 average on 2,526 ratings). For purposes of comparison, Lani Sarem's Handbook for Mortals scores 1.29 on 557 ratings and Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf is currently running at 3.14 average on 26,520 ratings.
Longest review
The longest review we know of is Glenn's review of The Essential Epicurus (16,628 words), which is so long that it spills over into several posts in the comment thread.
The first real review posted on Goodreads appears to be Otis's review of A Short History of Nearly Everything (posted Sep 4 2006). It is listed as review #3; as far as I can see, review #1 doesn't exist and review #2, also by Otis, has no text.
The clear winner in this category was Veronica Roth's review of The Fault in Our Stars, which scored 2,215 votes for the single word "Fantastic". The review now however appears to have been removed.
2015 on Goodreads has 747 reviews despite never even having been announced as "forthcoming".
Most polarizing book
Standard deviation of the rating is a reasonable measure of how polarizing a book is: if the book got an equal number of 1s and 5s and nothing else, the standard deviation would be 2.0. A stand-out winner in this category is Donald Trump Jr's Triggered: How the Left Thrives on Hate and Wants to Silence Us whose 233 ratings have 103 5-stars and 111 1-stars, producing a near-perfect standard deviation of 1.93.
Out of books with at least 1,000 ratings, Ann Coulter is still in the lead with 1.47, for Godless (2,818 ratings). But I wonder for how long.
Chris Roberts has assigned one star to all 397 of the books he has rated. At one point he assigned five stars to Paradise Drive, but then corrected it.
According to his Goodreads home page, Adrian has -35 ratings. (No, we don't understand it either).
Multilingual reviewing
I have reviewed books written in English, French, Swedish, Norwegian, German, Spanish, Dutch, Danish, Japanese, Russian, Italian, Korean, Hawaiian Pidgin, Icelandic and Europanto, a total of 15 languages. Delighted to hear from people who can beat this.

When one thinks of GuinnessWorld Records, automatically 'extraordinary' and 'remarkable' comes to mind. So far me to win, i am truly honoured and delighted" ~Usain Bolt~
"Sudah berapa Little Womennya?" "Wah mau memecahkan rekor punya koleksi Little Women terbanyak ya?"
Berulang kali saya mendengar pertanyaan seperti itu. Sampai detik ini jawabannya saya masih TIDAK. Koleksi Little Women saya baru menyentuh anggka 130-an buah. Koleksi saya masih sangat jauh dengan koleksi mereka-mereka yang ada dalam buku Guinnes World Records 2015. Semangat mereka mengumpulkan sesuatu sungguh luar biasa.
I recommend this book to people .This book is great because it tells you all the records that have bin broken . And it is filled with crazy things .And it never gets boring .This book is great .I also recommend people to read the other guinness wold records because i know they are also great.
This is a great book, it helped me to solve my questions, like who has the longest human horns etc. It is really interesting and I can learn more things out of the boundary.I would recommend this book to people who really would like to know more about geometry, humanities etc.

I read this book in the matter of a few days so you can get through it pretty fast. The text is pretty small in the book so for some people it could be hard to read. I really enjoyed this book seeing all the different talents or records people can do or break. I would put this book into the non-fiction genre category.
I used to love these books when I was kid. Every year, I'd look forward to getting the newest edition and reading it cover to cover (yeah, I was huge nerd). Anyways, since I got a Jeopardy tryout coming up (this is what kids who read record books and almanacs for fun become; trivia buffs), I decided to pick up and edition to drill myself with things I may have forgotten, and things that may have changed.
It might just be me, but it certainly feels like the book is a lot less information dense now, and geared to advertise the records made and broken on its shows and road events. In short, lots of "Fastest time running a marathon backwards while juggling" and less stuff like "smallest coin in regular circulation" (does anyone know the answer to that one, by the way?).
Anyways, it wasn't a boring read. It just felt a lot less spectacular and grand, despite trying a lot harder to be spectacular and grand. And for the purposes I got it for, it suffices, I suppose.

Best part : A Mongolian dancer, Tsatsral Erdenebileg, has successfully set the new Guinness World Record for “Longest time to hold the Marinelli bend position”. She achieved the record in the theatre of the Circus Maximus in Budapest, Hungary by holding the position for two minutes and 34 seconds
interestingly the record was previously held by another Mongolian woman, Oyungerel Luvsandorj, who set the Guinness World Record for “Longest time to hold the Marinelli bend position” for 33 seconds, breaking the old world record by 11 seconds, in Great Britain in 2008. Oyungerel then updated her record to 50 seconds in Italy.
Assuming the reader has previously seen a GWR book, they know what to expect as to the format and style that the book follows. The facts and trivia that this years edition provided interested me, but it felt a bit flat and generic, and I felt that they could have made it a lot better. However, it was very enjoyable and my whole family enjoyed it as well so for any fans of the GWR series of yearly books and records, this is just another for the collection.
Personal Response- The new 2015 records are astonishing and I cant figure out why people would do half of them because its common sense that you could die. Some where amazing but others were gross and just odd.
Plot- There is no real plot to this book besides the main point which is to show people records. There are hundreds of awesome, amazing, and cool new records compared to last year.
Characterization- There are no main characters in this book although those records are awesome.
I think that this book is is great.I shows the different talents that people had.It also shows how people can do all of the different things that other people say is imposible. It is a cool book of people to read and see if you can do the same thing. There were different things in the book like animales or planets.
This book is one of a kind. This has lots of new records that are surprising, and also this book can show you things with the 3d app. I would recommend this book to people that like records and also, it tells you hoe you can break a record which if your, lucky you can make it into the next years book.
This book is one of a kind. This has lots of new records that are surprising and, also this book can show you things with the 3D app. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to be a record breaker. This book also shows the online website where you can sign up to break a record and if your lucky you can make it into next year's book.
It's not the best book ever but it's not the worst book ever. You'll like this book if you like skipping through pages until you find something that you like.
