When Storms and Stars Collide
by Andrea Robards

In a world divided by magic and fear, a human princess and an elven prince are destined to either heal the world—or break it beyond repair.

Princess Nyxara Solvaris carries the power of the stars within her veins. Feared by her own people and hunted by those who crave her celestial magic, she’s spent her life fighting to prove she’s more than a weapon. When betrayal drives her from her kingdom, she crosses paths with Prince Fenris Aerindor, the storm-wielding heir of the elven realm and the last person she should trust.

But fate has other plans. Their magic calls to each other—wild, undeniable, ancient. Bound by a power neither understands, Nyxara and Fenris find themselves at the heart of a rising rebellion, where loyalty is fragile, love is forbidden, and a darkness once thought forgotten stirs beneath the surface of their world.

As war brews and shadows rise, they must decide whether their bond will unite their fractured lands or become the very spark that consumes them all.

When Storms and Stars Collide is the spellbinding first installment of The Tempestara Series—a sweeping fantasy romance of soul-deep bonds, forbidden magic, and love powerful enough to reshape destiny itself.

Arc Review
I think I was very interested in the story and I can say the prologue had my attention. After that I felt the world building left me wanting more. The characters read a little as if this were the second book in a series and we had already met them instead of introducing who they really were. It felt a little long for what it was. Everyone enjoys different books so give it a try but I just don’t think this one was my cup of tea personally.

I felt so blessed to be asked by Andrea to give her brand new book a read & review.

This was my first fantasy read and I loved the basis of the story. It kept me hooked and I loved the love between the two of them and the fact it included celestial energies 🌙✨

In some scenes I could actually see this being made into a TV series.

I adored the familiars and the fact they could speak telepathically was a bonus and added a gorgeous connection between them.

When starting the book I felt like I had missed something though, whilst there is a brief detail of who is who in the kingdoms etc I felt it went straight into the storyline before introducing the characters and I feel like I’d of had a stronger connection to them if I had had a proper introduction to them. I had already created my image of them THEN it described how they looked.

I feel like there could have been a lot more descriptive peices throughout the book as I wanted to know exactly how the surroundings looked instead of totally relying on my imagination to create the scene surroundings.

I feel it could appeal more to teens than adults.

That being said I really enjoyed the book but I think it would be even stronger if the above had been included.

I would still recommend people to purchase on release and support new authors and I’m
Excited to see more about Tempestara 😍🫶

An Elven prince with a snow wolf familiar and storm magic… and a human princess with star magic and a shadow panther familiar.
If that line alone doesn’t hook you — it should.

The story opens with Nyaxara being hunted by Elven prince Fenris and a group of warborn assassins. Instead of enemies, these two end up soulmates, forming alliances and sparking a rebellion against a corrupt king as well as Vaelor an ancient mage.

I genuinely enjoyed this book — the action, the adventure, the banter, the magic, and the friendships (especially Lyra and Artimus). The world of Tempestara is rich, atmospheric, and full of charm.

My only critique:
I found myself wanting more backstory for the two main characters. A bit more depth there would’ve made the emotional beats land harder.

Overall, this was a fun, magical, high-fantasy escape with soulmates, rebellion, familiars, and adventure.
Thank you to Andrea Robards for the opportunity to read this advanced reader copy.

ARC Review

An Elven Prince and the Princess of Solvaris meet as kingdom enemies both running from the pressures of the crown. When threatened by a common enemy, will they fight together as one or will they continue to fight each other?

Hand in hand they have people from Solvaris, Aerindor, and the Warborn Territories put their hatred aside and stand together as one in trust.

I absolutely loved all these characters, especially Artemis. They come in abruptly and make you fall for them right off the bat… and the betrayal of one hurts just as much for the reader as it does the characters experiencing it.

The battles, the trials, the aftermath, all surrounded by found family and the trust of two (or four) beings.

This page turning fantasy will have you gripping onto what comes next while absolutely reveling each quirky quote or deep conversation. The characters are lovable for each of their own quirky personalities.

While I would have loved a bit more backstory before diving deep into the story, I don’t feel as if it took away from the overall story being told.

I’ll just be here patiently waiting for a second book, so I can get more of these characters and see what becomes of Tempestara next!

Absolutely loved this. Didn't think I would as i'm not always a fan of Fantasy but I was excited to recieve the ARC copy to read before it got released.

This book will keep you gripped and imagining the world's so vividly you will wish you were there, thanks to the way everything was so well written and descriptive. It kept me glued and wanting to read more every time I had to put the book down to go do adult things. 🙄

It is full of magic, a slow SLOW burn, heartache, familiars with their own little attitudes along side many characters who are.. characters to say the least.

Would recommend if you enjoy fantasy books that are well written. You can feel the passion through the writing from the author. 🥰

ARC Read: I would give this 3.5 stars
I liked the story, but I really wished for some backstory at the beginning. It felt like we started at the halfway point of the story. There are good details and the banter was nice, but I felt it needed a bit more history description of the different clans/powers.

I was lucky to be gifted the arc for this book but unfortunately I had to dnf. My head was spinning and so confused. Characters weren’t introduced and it made me so confused. Things were happening at such a fast rate my brain couldn’t catch up. I felt like the premise could be a great book and hopefully for some it is 🙂

This book surprised me in all the best ways. The world is rich, the tension is simmering, and the characters feel like they’ve been living full lives long before we meet them.

The Elven Prince and Solvaris Princess dynamic is sharp, emotional, and layered, but Artemis? Artemis owns this book. He bursts onto the page and immediately makes you care way too much, way too fast. Every betrayal, every victory, every quiet moment hits harder because of how connected the cast feels.

There were moments where I wanted a bit more backstory to ease into the world, but honestly, it didn’t slow me down. Once the story gets moving, it moves - battles, aftermath, found family moments, all of it beautifully woven.

If you love fantasy that’s character-driven with big emotional stakes and bonds forged under pressure, this one’s absolutely worth the read. I’m already itching for book two. *cough* Andrea *cough* *cough*

I loved the overall story of two “enemy” royals meeting and finding out that they are being pulled together. The whole storms and stars representing each of them was cool. I found that the writing itself was good, but there were some things I felt were missing from the story.

The book needed more backstory before jumping into the action. I wanted to know more about who Fenris and Nyxara were before they met. What were their lives like, who did they hang out with, what were their families like that brought them to this point where they were facing each other as enemies. I also felt that there was a lot of filler in the book between the first battle with Vaelor and the final battle at the end. I don’t know that there needed to be so much. In some ways the description was vast, but in other ways (like with the main characters) there was not enough.

I thoroughly enjoyed the whole premise of them overcoming their enemy status (and rather quickly) to become allies (and more?). There was a lot of action and learning about their place in their world that was very interesting. The main characters were very likable, as were the secondary characters, but probably the most interesting were the familiars. They definitely helped keep the story fun and entertaining.

I think this is a great start to a fantasy world series. It has action, creativity, humans and non humans, special abilities, familiars and a very PG romantic relationship. It could easily be marketed as young adult. I truly appreciate the opportunity to ready this book.

ARC review

I really think this book has so much potential, although i think it needs some work to get there. I loved the familiar aspect of the story, and there were som good banter between the characters. Also a lot of really good quotes i had to highlight.

Too me though it felt a bit fast paced, we were thrown into action before we even got to know the characters, their background and the world building. Because of this i didn't feel like there was as much depth to the romance aspect of the book either. It also felt a bit repetitive at times.

Really appreciated the opportunity to read this though.

well I believe that it takes a tremendous amount of courage to put yourself out there and write. I think that this book is not ready for release. I believe that there are a lot of story homes, the overly descriptive writing is tiresome. none of it makes a bit of sense. and I'm sorry to feel this way about the first arc that I've read for you. hopefully, you will consider editing the book and keeping the story. I think it's one that needs to be told it just needs some work.
