Chestnut Mountain #2

The Lucky List

Rate this book
Sometimes, luck isn’t found—it finds you.

Lucy

I’m a single mom to two boys, fiercely independent, and painfully familiar with things going wrong. Luck has never been on my side, so I’ve learned to rely on myself—and expect nothing from anyone else.

Then a series of embarrassingly unlucky run-ins throws me right into the path of Chestnut Mountain’s ridiculously hot Irish firefighter. When my resolve finally cracks, I agree to one reckless deal: friends with benefits—and a chance to put myself first for once.

Mike
I don’t believe in coincidences. Especially not when the woman I can’t stop thinking about keeps crashing into my life. She swears she’s unlucky, but I see a woman who’s strong, stubborn, and already has everything that matters… including two boys who steal my heart.

What starts as casual quickly turns into something deeper. I fall for all of them, hard. But the closer we get, the more she pushes me away, determined to keep it casual. She doesn’t trust luck—or love.

Too bad I’m Irish, relentless, and very good at tempting fate. This St. Patrick’s Day, I’m not leaving things to chance—I’m finishing The Lucky List.

A holiday rom com about a single mom, a hot firefighter, St Patrick's Day fun, and what it means to be lucky in love.

I absolutely loved and devoured this book. Lucy and her two rambunctious boys were instantly relatable, and Mike, the Chestnut Mountain firefighter with a filthy mouth and Irish charm, completely stole my heart. What starts as a friends with benefits arrangement to help Lucy check off her “get lucky” list quickly turns into something so much sweeter as Mike falls hard for both Lucy and her boys. Mya More absolutely nails the humor, especially the mom jokes, and I connected with Lucy immediately as a parent.

Mike is the perfect match for her. He is fun, foul mouthed in the best way, and completely all in. Watching him fall in love with Lucy’s kids was just as swoony as watching him fall for her. The spicy scenes absolutely delivered, and honestly, you might need to ask Mike for a ladder to reach these new heights.

The only thing I found myself wishing for was a bit more of Mike's backstory and how he ended up, well, doing things, but that did not take away from how much I loved this book. Overall, this was fantastic and might be my all time favorite from Mya More. It is going to be very hard to top this one.

Recommended for readers who love rom-coms, single parent romance, found family, and an Irish firefighter who knows exactly what he is doing.

Thank you to Mya More for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I read this entire book in one sitting. Oh. My. Lanta. Everything about this book was absolutely amazing. This is in the same town as The Santa Rules, which you do not HAVE to read but I highly recommend it. Lucy is a single mom of two crazy high energy and lovable boys. Mike is a super hot firefighter that is looking for the one. Welllll, the two of them run into each other multiple times and clearly feel nothing but sparks. This leads to them working through a lucky list full of delicious and spicy bucket items. I love everything about this book and found myself laughing out loud and telling my husband all about it because I just found it so cute and wholesome. I can’t wait for the next book in this town!

*I was fortunate to have received this book as an ARC - all opinions are my own*

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐.5

I absolutely DEVOURED this book. This is my first book by Mya Moore, but I will definitely be reading more!

As a mom to 3 young boys myself (2 of which being the same ages and Micha and Levi), I really loved the bits thrown in where you literally have to do everything you can to keep from laughing and still end up laughing anyway (iykyk 🤣).

This book was funny, sweet, and spicy - what more could you want?? Seeing Lucy's community rally around her to help a single mom get back out there again was such a sweet story to read and seeing how Mike fit right in, in more ways than one, was so sweet - especially with the crazy plot twist sent in towards the end 🫣

Mike and Lucy are everything. She is an incredible single mom with the best group of girlfriends anyone could ever dream of and he is a dreamy Irish firefighter. Two wild boys who love poop and fart jokes really add to the humor throughout the book!

I absolutely love Myas writing. If she writes it, I'm going to read it. You can tell she puts everything into her books because they are full of love, banter, found families, jokes, and she can really bring a story to life. She leaves no stone unturned when it comes to the families in her books!

Her writing always make me feel all the feelings and I love that it does!!!

And if you are not reading her books you are missing out because she always fills them with the best tropes and microtropes

I need to start this by saying: this book was so cute… but also hot, chaotic, emotional, and unexpectedly soft in all the right places.
The Lucky List follows Lucy, a single mom of two boys in Chestnut Mountain, whose love life is an actual disaster. We open with her going on what might be the worst date in romance history — a cockroach-coffee conspiracy theorist who forgets his wallet and then turns out to be the state trooper who pulls her over. The humiliation? Elite. The secondhand embarrassment? Painful. I was cringing and laughing at the same time.
Lucy is exhausted. She’s juggling teaching second grade, raising two wild little boys, surviving mom guilt, and battling intense body image struggles and intrusive thoughts that feel painfully real. Her internal monologue about motherhood hit hard:
“I don’t want my boys to get attached to someone that isn’t going to stick around… When I’m not worrying about fucking my kids up for life, I’m thinking about what an awful mother I am…”
As a mom, that part gutted me. Letting someone into your life when you have kids is terrifying. You’re not just risking your own heart — you’re risking theirs.
And then there’s Mike.
Irish firefighter. Calendar model. Gym-built menace with a heart of gold.
From the moment he and Lucy keep literally crashing into each other, the chemistry is insane. The pinky touch? The subtle teasing? Him saying “a chroí” in that accent? I was DONE.
And then.
THE LIST.
Lucy makes a private “Get Lucky” list — basically a sex bucket list — and accidentally drops it. Guess who finds it?
Mike.
Instead of embarrassing her or teasing her publicly, he annotates it. Boldly. Confidently. Flirtatiously.
“Tie someone up – I have plenty of rope.”
“Sit on someone’s face – I volunteer as tribute.”
“Hook up with a guy with an accent – Your wish is my command.”
Sir.
EXCUSE ME.
The firehouse scene? When he offers to let her tie him up? I would have GASPED out loud. That dynamic shift — him giving her control because he senses her insecurity about her body in the mirrors — was such a subtle but powerful move. It wasn’t just spicy. It was thoughtful.
And when Lucy opens up her dominant side?
“Such a good boy for me, aren’t you? So eager for anything I give you.”
“Yes, ma’am.”
HOTTTT. The spice in this book is always 100%.
And I absolutely have to include my favorite line:
“A hiss escapes me as I silently plead with her to pull down my boxers so she can see the pot of gold at the end of my rainbow.”
I SCREAMED. The Irish metaphor? Illegal.
But what truly elevated this book for me wasn’t just the spice — it was Mike cleaning her house while she put the boys to bed. The quiet domestic moment. The way he lines up the toy trucks. Washes dishes. Thinks about belonging to something bigger than himself.
That scene softened me more than any dirty talk could.
He doesn’t just want Lucy.
He wants the boys.
He wants family.
He wants legacy.
And as a single mom reading this? That hit differently.
The twist toward the end was so cute and genuinely surprised me in the best way. It didn’t feel forced — it felt earned. Watching Lucy slowly allow herself to want something more than just sex was beautiful. Watching her fight her insecurities about her body and motherhood while still being wildly desirable? That mattered.
This book balances:
Small-town chaos
Single-mom vulnerability
Irish firefighter spice
Accidental sex list hijinks
Deep internal struggles
And laugh-out-loud disasters
Was it angsty? Not really.
Was it emotionally devastating? No.
But it was FUN. It was sexy. It was comforting. It felt like messy, real-life romance with heat.
If you love:
✔️ Single mom x firefighter
✔️ Irish accent MMC
✔️ Accidental exposure of a sex bucket list
✔️ Dominant heroine moments
✔️ Found family vibes
✔️ High spice with humor
Then this is absolutely for you.

A hot, Irish-accented, firefighter MMC and a plus-sized FMC that fall in love during the lead up to St. Patrick’s Day? Yes, please! I saw this opportunity for an Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) and decided I wanted to express my interest. I’m so glad I did. The Lucky List by Mya More was a fun, little palate cleanser of a rom-com. Was it predictable? Absolutely. But did that make it and its 7+ steamy chapters any less fun? Absolutely not. It was a solid book for an easy reading good time but I’m unlikely to pick it up again and again so it’s a very respectable 3* “I liked it” read with a 3 pepper rating for fun, spicy scenes.

We meet Lucy, our FMC, in the quaint little town of Chestnut Mountain with her bathroom talk-obsessed little boys, Micah and Levi. Originally I thought they were a bit younger than they are, but it becomes obvious throughout the story that they are around 4 and 6 years old. Lucy is a single mom and is encouraged to write a list about all the bedroom adventures she’d like to have and to go on a blind date with a distant familial connection of her besties. Mike is our MMC who comes to Micah’s rescue at school after he breaks his arm and Micah, described as being uncomfortable around men, latches on to Mike immediately.

What I loved about this story is Mike. He’s a solid main character with some flaws, but overall a good heart and kind way about him. He’s much more likeable, in my opinion, than our other main character. The “lucky list” as it becomes known between Mike and Lucy gets updates and the spicy chapters (which are helpfully identified at the beginning) are fun to read. But it’s Mike’s playful attitude and attentive nature that give this book the heart it needs for the “rom,” and Lucy’s little boys and Mike give the “com” with their constant bathroom jokes that any parent or person who works with small children will identify with, if not also appreciate. Lovers of Bluey and dinosaur nugget landscapes for dinner will also be pleased about this version of a real, messy life for a single mom and her attempts at dating while not giving her heart away.

The theme of being unlucky both in life and in love is a constant throughout the story. On the one hand this is to be expected in a St. Patty’s Day-themed rom-com, but it takes up a lot of time on the page that’s maybe not needed. This is particularly true of Lucy. She’s not quite a “black cat” to his “golden retriever", but she’s just prickly - despite Mike describing her as strong, kind, putting everyone first, etc. I didn’t see that on the page very clearly so I didn’t resonate with her character, although single moms may see themselves in her. I appreciated a full-figured FMC that wasn’t just “curvy in all the right places” but actually had body fat and body shape changes that come with motherhood and aging. But overall, I didn’t see a lot of real character development in her that would’ve made Mike so smitten, so I’d like to have seen that fleshed out on the page a bit more. I think it’s this that made it a “like it” instead of “love it” for me but it’s a good choice for a fun, spicy, little read if you’re in the mood to get lucky this St. Patrick’s Day.

I know going into every Mya More book that I'm gonna fall for her characters and have a good time with them, and The Lucky List is no exception! Lucy is a single mom who’s convinced she’s chronically unlucky in love. She keeps running into Mike, who is an Irish firefighter who seems determined to prove her wrong. What starts as a no-strings attached, friends-with-benefits deal to help her “get lucky” slowly turns into something neither of them can ignore.

Lucy is the kind of FMC I would want to be friends with IRL. She’s a single mom to two wild little boys, exhausted but holding it all together, and fully convinced that luck just isn’t her thing. She’s independent to a fault and very used to doing everything on her own, which I could totally relate to. You can feel how guarded she is, especially when it comes to love. And then there’s Mike, the Irish firefighter who is a total green flag. The man is just solid. He knows what he wants, and what he wants is Lucy and her boys. That’s what really got me. He doesn’t treat her kids like an obstacle- he genuinely falls for all of them. The way he shows up, helps out, and just makes her life easier without making her feel incapable was so lovely.

Their friends-with-benefits starts out fun and very spicy, but it turns into something way sweeter than either of them planned. Their banter is so flirty, teasing, and sometimes a little intense. And the boys remind me so much of my nephews! If you’ve ever been around little kids who think fart jokes are comedy gold, you’ll feel right at home.

The small-town vibes and the friend group make everything feel all warm and cozy. And by the end, I just felt happy. This book is honestly funny and just a really good time. If you love single mom romances, black cat/golden retriever energy, and a firefighter who is all in from day one, this one’s soooo good! Makes me want to get lucky! 🍀

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book, I read the first in the series around Christmas and I loved that too. So I was so surprised and excited when I stumbled upon an ARC sign up for this one.

Our MMC Mike is a giant walking green flag with an Irish accent. He’s a firefighter who cares so much for everyone else, a constant for the people he loves, and also a silly dude who loves to joke. And I absolutely fell in love with him, his character is literally a single mom’s dream. Big, hot, helpful, patient, kind, and worships the ground his woman walks on. Big guy had me 🥵🥵🥵.

Onto our FMC, Lucy is a teacher and a single mom of two boys. She is overworked, exhausted, and self proclaimed “unlucky”, especially in love. After her son breaks his arm she meets our big beautiful Irishman. After multiple awkward meet cutes, they decide on a little FWB situation.

Now the boys, Micah and Levi are spot on little boy comedy gold. They are silly and rambunctious and I just adored them. They love a good fart joke, and the way they talk just made me laugh so much.

This book was seriously everything I didn’t know I needed. It was sweet, silly, and pulled at all of my heartstrings. The twist near the end had me squealing! I did not in any way see it coming. I laughed, I cried, I swooned, and I loved every minute of it. I can genuinely say I how there are more books in this series in the future. I love the writing style and the way they make me feel and will read every single one.

Lucky!

"The Lucky List" is the second book in the Chestnut Mountain series. As a proud boy mom, I can completely relate to Lucy and her two mischievous boys. However, I can't relate to the part where a hot, sexy, dirty-talking Irish fireman desires me. But that's okay—Lucy's extraordinary love story with Mike is captivating.

Their first meeting at the hospital is truly a charming “meet-cute,” and their connection is palpable. It seems like fate keeps bringing them together. When Lucy's famous list accidentally drops out of her purse and lands in Mike's hands for him to make some revisions, that’s when the sparks between them really start to fly.

Everything begins to change as Mike is determined to show that he wants more from life, and that includes Lucy and her boys. Lucy, in turn, slowly opens up to the idea of letting others in, not just Mike.

Mya has once again outdone herself by crafting this amazing world. While Mike and Lucy are a standalone couple with a beautiful connection, the supportive found family and friend group around them adds depth to the story.

The writing is easy to read, and I couldn’t put it down. Lucy and Mike's playful, flirty banter had me laughing throughout. The boys are mischievous geniuses, and I miss that age with my son, who is now a teenager. One thing I’ve learned as a boy mom is that boys love their moms no matter their age, and they are always protective.

So, I needed a palate cleanser after a string of reeeal dark romances when I came across the ARC signup for The Lucky List. The first thing that caught my eye was "fart and poop jokes" on the trigger list and I was sold. 😂

This book was so. stinkin. cute! And funny. And spicy. And swoony sweet. And 100% relatable as a mom - even if you're not a single mom like our FMC, Lucy.

The story revolves around Lucy, an absolutely burnt out teacher & single mom of 2 incredibly adorable and rambunctious little boys. Her love life is a disaster and her self esteem is in the dumpster. On a whim, she creates what is essentially a sexy bucket list - which may or may not involve a local hot Irish firefighter. 👀

Lucy crashes (literally) into Mike, said local hot Irish firefighter, and drops her purse, which causes her list to fall out & lo and behold... Mike finds it. 👏🏻 And he is EXCITED about this list. He writes some cute & sexy notes and then gives it back to her, while offering to help her knock everything off her list.

Mike and Lucy together are just... swoon. He fits in so perfectly with her and her boys, and does everything he can to make life easier for her without overstepping, while also building up her confidence at the same time. He's funny and absolutely adores her boys. The banter and the chemistry are 100% top notch. The entire vibe for this book is just cozy and fun and green flags all around - perfect for rom com lovers or if you just need a sweet & easy read between more angsty reads. 🖤

Every time I open a Mya More book I know I'm going to get relatable characters that I'm going to love and The Lucky List is just the most recent on the list. Mike, Lucy, and the boys felt like real people that could have been my neighbors or even my own family in the past. The heartwarming way they care for each other is so wonderful and I loved the Pokemon references and general boy humor throughout.

As a mom, I felt so much of what Lucy was going through from her struggles with her self-image to the pure exhaustion that is raising tiny humans. There were so many moments throughout this story where the kids would do something and Lucy was trying so hard not to laugh and I felt those moments and they brought out so much nostalgia for years past that I couldn't help but smile and just feel a soul-deep connection to her.

Mike, goodness gracious. Talk about a man whose whole goal is to make his woman's life easier and you'll get Mike. He was flirty, fun, filthy, and the perfect missing piece of the puzzle for this family. The way he jumped in to connect with the kids, to make Lucy's life easier, and to just be what she needed was so perfect and so powerful. I loved the way their relationship developed and how he showed Lucy time and time again that he was all in for her and the kids. This book was just excellent from start to finish.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - ARC Review

The Lucky List by Mya More was absolutely amazing! This book had everything my reading heart needed, moments that made me laugh out loud, dirty-mouth banter, sexy scenes, and real-life mom moments that we as mothers all go through.

Mya did a great job writing Lucy as a single mom of two young boys. It was SO relatable. I truly felt like Lucy while reading this book. Now, Mike… ummm, yummy! Who doesn’t love a hot Irish firefighter??!! Mya did a GREAT job writing Mike as well, his Irish accent was written so well that I could hear it perfectly in my head.

Lucy is a single mom of two young boys, Micah and Levi. She feels like luck is never on her side when it comes to men, they always turn out the same…that is, until Mr. March comes along.

Mike is an Irish firefighter who enters Lucy’s world like a firetruck… unexpected and on fire. He cares for the boys instantly and steps into a father figure role they truly need. Mike is undoubtedly the ultimate golden retriever boyfriend.

Definitely give this book a read, it’s wonderfully done! I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This started off so funny, Lucy, a single mom to two boys, and her chaotic, supportive friend group are absolute 10/10. Summer’s “buy a house vs. find Mr. Right” comparison had me laughing out loud.

Mike… can this man be any more perfect? Irish, firefighter, loves to cook, wants a family, and somehow wins over her skeptical son Micah before even officially meeting her. Mike is honest and vulnerable from the start, sharing his family struggles, and respects Lucy’s boundaries while still being attentive and loving. The way he includes her kids in dates and even counts solo babysitting as a date shows just how thoughtful he is.

Her friends suggested for her to write a bucket list and she makes a sexy bucket list, and of course he finds it...and then adds to it. YAAAAAAS!!!

The intimacy happens on Lucy’s terms, and their chemistry is undeniable. The friend group continues to be one of the highlights, supportive, funny, and always there when someone needs them.

Love Raven, I can’t wait for her story! I knew there would be a connection between Mike and one of the kids, and it was just perfect. My heart melted seeing how Lucy became a mom and how she reclaimed her empowerment. This book is full of humor, swoon-worthy romance, and heartfelt moments. A rom-com I absolutely loved!

Once again, Mya More gave us such a cute book with the sweetest little family!! I just loved all of this one!! Lucy was everything I feel as a mom every day, and I loved seeing her internal struggle to ask for help or even allow her most trusted circle to see her struggles! She was such a raw, real character and I loved her so much, especially as we got to see her open herself up to help and support and love! And Mike was just absolutely incredible, with how he seamlessly came in and molded himself into Lucy's life and the boys' lives, not necessarily without asking, but with being able to see and understand what things might help take pieces of the burden off Lucy! I loved seeing him come in and be open, honest, and unapologetically himself while showing Lucy how steady he is for her and her family! These two were so wonderful together and getting to watch all the sweet little meet-cutes they got to have together were absolutely wonderful! And as with any Mya More, the spice was just impeccable!! And getting all the side characters in this one was a blast and a half!! I loved this one, and just can't wait to be able to revisit Chestnut Mountain and this crazy crew again!! 4.5 stars; 3.75 chili peppers

Relatable Mom Life with the Perfect Amount of Spice

As a single mom who is way too hard on herself, I didn’t even get past the dedication before I knew this book was going to hit. It just felt personal right away.

As a mom to a 4 year old who may be a girl but absolutely matches the energy of a house full of wild boys, I was laughing so much reading Lucy’s scenes with her kids. The chaos, the exhaustion, the trying to keep it together while they’re doing something ridiculous. It felt so real. There were so many moments where I thought, yep, that’s exactly what it’s like.

Lucy was so relatable in the way she struggles with her self-image and just carrying the weight of everything. Watching the people around her show up and support her gave me all the found family feels. And Mike stepping into her world so naturally? I loved that. The banter between them was playful and flirty, and it never felt forced. It just flowed.

This was such a fun, quick read, but it still had depth. And the little twist at the end completely caught me off guard. I genuinely didn’t see it coming and I adored how it played out.

This was my first book by Mya More, and now I want to go back for more. If her stories are always this full of heart, humor, realistic spice, and that messy beautiful family dynamic, I’m absolutely in.

✨Laugh-out-loud funny
💕Super sweet romance
🔥Spice for daaaays

The Lucky List by Mya More feels like a little sprinkle of luck wrapped in laughter, love, and just the right amount of heat.

Lucy is the kind of heroine you can’t help but root for – messy, real, doing her absolute best, and loving her kids with her whole heart. She’s not trying to be perfect…just trying to make it through the day (honestly, same). Enter Mike – aka Mr. March from the firefighter calendar – he falls fast, hard, and without hesitation…and not just for Lucy but for her boys too.

But Lucy? She takes her time. Her heart’s been through it, and that hesitation felt so real and so earned. Watching Mike gently, consistently show up for her and her boys? Heart = melted.

And that twist?!? I did not see that coming…but it made my heart swell in the best, happiest way. Truly perfection.

The subtle little shift in chapter titles was such a charming touch – like a wink from the author as her story unfolds.

This whole book is basically a lucky charm of #Goals:
✨Relationship Goals
✨Friendship Goals
✨Parenting Goals

With this story, May More delivers something cozy, heartfelt, hilarious, and oh-so-relatable. It’s romantic, a little spicy, and full of joy. Absolutely worth the read. 💚🍀

💜: Fvck you, Lady Luck. I’m off to make my own luck and get the man of my dreams.

“Every inch of ya.” He resumes fvck!ng me with more force. “Every”—thrust—“fvck!ng”—thrust—“inch”—thrust—“of”—thrust—“ya.”

Lucy & Mike are just the cutest. The moments these two share feel imperfectly perfect in a way that makes them so easy to love in these chapters. Lucy is our selfless supermom, carrying old wounds while keeping the walls around her heart firmly in place to protect it. And Mike, aka the hot, delicious firefighter. He’s immediately smitten with Lucy and her boys, and he’s all about being and doing whatever she needs. But let’s not forget that dirty mouth… and that piercing. Well, enough said there.

I can’t stop remembering and giggling at some of the lines Mya wrote into this story. “Swipe the card” had me deceased. Lol. I will never get that out of my brain, along with a few other moments that are just going to pop up at random and make me smile.

Which just proves this was such a great story to get lost in and escape reality for a bit. And um, hello to that little curveball you added in there, which gave us a great chaotic & happily ever after!

ARC Review
Sometimes, luck does not strike. Sometimes it shows up as a ridiculously hot Irish firefighter and refuses to leave.

The Lucky List by Mya More is a steamy, laugh out loud funny holiday rom com with so much heart. Lucy is a fiercely independent single mom who believes luck is not for her, and Mike is relentless, charming, and absolutely convinced she is wrong. Their accidental run ins and friends with benefits deal had me hooked from the start.

The chemistry is on fire. This book is spicy, playful, and full of tension, but it also delivers emotional depth and genuine tenderness. Mike falling first and falling hard not just for Lucy but for her boys was everything. The black cat x golden retriever dynamic shines, and the found family element adds so much warmth to the story.

I loved the small town setting, the St. Patrick’s Day vibes, the plus size representation, and the perfect balance of humor and heat. This book made me laugh, swoon, and fan myself more than once.

If you love single mom romances, firefighter heroes, steamy friends with benefits, and rom coms that actually feel funny, this one belongs on your TBR.

I sure do love a holiday-themed book, and a St. Patrick's Day one is even better! If you are looking for a small town romance with a friend with benefits working on a spicy list with a little Irish flair - this is the one to try!

Lucy (FMC) is a very independent single mom of two rambunctious boys, who is convinced she has the worst luck in love and in general. After a few embarrassing run-ins with the HOT Irish firefighter, she gives in to the draw of him and agrees to a friends-with-benefits arrangement. Mike (MMC) is convinced that the ongoing run-ins with Lucy mean something and are not mere coincidence. What was supposed to be “just fun” turns into Mike falling hard for Lucy and her two boys. The girl who thinks she is so unlucky has met her match in the Irish Firefighter who doesn’t believe in leaving things to chance. Mike makes it his mission to prove to Lucy that she can be lucky in love.

Gah, this was my first read from Mya More and it will not be my last. I was fortunate enough to receive a ARC of this from Luna Literary and I am so happy that I was able to read this!

This story features Lucy, a serial unlucky single mom and Mike, Mr. March, who unexpectedly connects with her kids. They start a friends with benefits after Mike discovers Lucy's "to-do" list and convinces her that he can help her with it, all while falling madly in love with her. Lucy must contend with her own past and realize that maybe she isn't so unlucky after all.

The two boys in this are just the topping on the cake in this story. I'm not a mom so I did confirm with an expert (my friend with 3 kids)- 4 year olds do in fact talk about poop and farts just as much as Levi. I commend the excellent research that was put into both Levi and Micah. Everytime either one of them was on page, I could not contain a smile!

Overall I would highly recommend this one. The romance is top notch, but the found family in this one was just to die for.

This series is so damn hilarious! As a Mom that has once had tornado little boys. I hold this book close to my heart and remember how badly they stunk…and no I do not miss those years because they NEVER grew out of it. Still.
Lucky is a single mom to 2 rambunctious little boys and she’s in the thick of motherhood and having on by a thread. She has her besties and her kiddos and that’s all she really needs.
Mike is a firefighter in Chestnut Mountain, with a dirty mouth and a wicked Irish accent. He can’t keep his mind off the beautiful woman that life keeps throwing in his direction. He also doesn’t believe in coincidences.
Oh.my.goodness these 2 have off the charts chemistry. Although Lucky refuses to admit it’s anything more than that. But Mike fights for her and keeps showing up for her and her kiddos. I’m absolutely in love with how well Mike steps up! The definition of if he wanted to he would. And oh man he DOES 🤤😏😩 ooooohhff the mouth on that man! I’m so obsessed with how hilarious this series depicts motherhood and how freaking true it all is!!

Read the entire book in 3 hours, couldn’t put it down!

I loved The Santa Rules, so I was excited for this & it didn’t disappoint.

Lucy is a single mum to two rambunctious boys. She has a tough time letting anyone into her inner circle after being let down by so many people. As a plus size woman, she’s also struggling with her confidence since having her boys - not to mention the douchey ex that made comments.

Mike is the one she never saw coming. He’s obsessed with her - kids, curves & all. When he discovers her “lucky list” (which happens to mention him!) he bites the bullet & offers himself as a willing sacrifice 😂

It takes a while for Lucy to see Mike for all he is, to begin to build the trust & let her walls down. She even manages to share a very uncomfortable truth with him despite being terrified it would be a dealbreaker.

But as secrets come out of the woodwork, it brings them closer & fulfils everything they both wanted.

How many 5⭐️ does it take to be a Stan account for an author??

Thank you thank you thank you to Luna Literary and Mya for this advanced copy, I couldn’t put it down!

As a mom of two that never did “bounce back” as they say, Lucy was so many of my own thoughts. She’s a superwoman raising two young boys as a single mom.

Mike, a big burly Irish Mr March firefighter, I don’t think I need to say anything more.

I would consider this series truly romcom. Yes they’re realistic characters in the sense that they don’t feel great in their own skin at times, they wonder if they should’ve settled down earlier, but most of the arc is just light hearted and funny.

There’s no third act breakup, I’m alllll about smexy lists right now, and the text chats were top notch (I know I just can’t help but swoon).

Now that I’ve caught up on Mya’s books I will impatiently stalk her socials to find out when she is ready to release the next Broken book.

Once again this author managed to have me laughing hysterically and then almost immediately fanning myself!
The way this author writes and entwines these characters with such ease.
I loved seeing familiar faces from the previous book and also meeting some new ones!
This FMC, she’s a total goddess and sweetheart that has two very special little boys.
The MMC, is a tall drink of Irish firefighter…
Mr. March to be precise. He’s as loyal as they come and a total teddy bear.
These two not only have incredible chemistry but they also have a two very special little someones that keep them on their toes.
This read had the perfect amount of sweet and spicy!
The spice… lawd have mercy these two were burning the place down with their chemistry! ( you see what I did there?!)
Seriously the little plot twist…
I was squealing like a fool from the excitement!
If you love small town romcoms this series is a must read!

Single mom Romance with tons of laughs

Lucy is an overwhelmed mom of two rambunctious boys, Micah and Levi. She has been giving them her all for years and is finally pushed by her friends to take stock and try to put herself and her wants first. Mike enters her life at just the right time to try to help her out a little with her boys and her list of things to try for herself.

Lucy takes some time to relax and open up her life to the possibility of someone who might stick around and be a good fit for her family. I loved watching her come to terms with her commitment issues and learn to lean on Mike. Her group of friends are the girlfriends we all wish we had to call on when we need them.

Mike is such a good fit for Lucy as he brings more laughter and joy as well as stability. And he cooks. Which, to me makes him a 12.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of single moms and firefighters. You will laugh and swoon, maybe at the same time.

Hot cinnamon roll Irish firefighter with a dirty mouth? Sign me up! This book was a joy to read.

Mya is an expert at writing relatable characters. As with Bella in the first book in this series, Lucy is the frazzled mom of two boys any parent can relate to.

I just love the camaraderie and support amongst all the ladies in this book. It takes a village, and these four women are the village. Mike is the ultimate book boyfriend. He’s kind and supportive, and that’s filthy mouth of his would have any lady swooning. But he only has eyes for Lucy. And Micah and Levi steal every scene they’re in.

Let’s talk about that plot twist. I can’t divulge anything without giving spoilers, but let’s just say it’s epic and you don’t see it coming.

I can’t wait for their next book in the Chestnut Mountain series!

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ 4.5 stars

This book kept me invested the whole time!
I have to admit that when I saw the warning about poop and fart humor, I was NOT excited, but the plot sound so good that I decided to give it a try and once I started reading I didn't even care.

The story is fun, the romance just work, and it has a nice mix of sweet moments and spice! Lucy and Mike make a really good mix, and their connection feels natural and easy to enjoy.

It was spicy! However sometimes I wanted a little more "carnita" between the spicy moments. That might be one of the reason this is not a full five stars for me.

The overall vibe was good, light and entertaining. I had a good time reading it, and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a fun romance with a little heat!😍

Thank to the author/publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
