Pitstop #8

Saved by His Halo

Rate this book
My Halo saved me twice. Once in my car.
Then in every other part of my life.

I thought my life was over when my career in F1 ended. I thought the day of the crash would be the last time I’d be surrounded by the glamorous world of Formula One. I thought when I went into hiding in Australia that I’d never have to think about the pain and trauma of that day.

But he needed me, so he pulled me right back into the sport I love, even though I thought I couldn’t bear to be anywhere near it as anything but a driver.

Asher “Halo” Henderson is everything I thought I could never have again after my ex-boyfriend cheated on me and broke any ability inside me to trust another person with my heart. And when he told me he needed me to come back to Monaco with him and mentor his little sister in her first year as a Formula One driver for Hawke Racing, I couldn’t say no.

No part of me can deny him anything he wants.

As much as I tried to keep him at arm’s length, to shut him out of my heart because of how long it took me to pick up the broken pieces of it, he’s stealing it anyway. There is a pull between us that neither one of us can deny, and the playboy doesn’t seem to want only a night with me. He wants more, and I’d be lying to myself if I said I didn’t want more too.

But my life is a mess. My trauma haunts me, my family threatens to destroy me, and I still don’t know how to trust fully. No matter how deeply he cares for me, I may break us apart in my pursuit to right everything that has gone wrong in the past year.

Including getting my seat back.

Where do I even begin in starting this review, because if I start then I have to finish it and that means that one of my fav sports romance series is finished.

Saved by his Halo has to be one of my fav reads of 2025 and there have been a few top reads, but this is definitely one right at the top.

Cam and Halo, Mi Luz and Handsome - you boys have my whole heart.
This whole book had me screaming, crying, kicking my feet and staring at the page in astonishment at times.

Everything about this book was just perfect, and when I say everything I mean everything. Cam and Halo healed not only each other but me at the same time.

Asher 'Halo' - you are one incredible human and everyday you were there for Cam made me love you more, you would move mountains for him.

Cam - the heartbreak and soul shattering you went through in this book is so similar to my own story so I resonated a lot with how you were feeling.

Bridget just knows how to create a world where you never want to leave, all her characters are relatable and you can identify with a lot of their scenarios.
If you want to read about 'real life' characters and fall in love with each one of them and their coupling - give the Pitstop Series a go...

Thank you to Bridget for entrusting them with me, I am eternally grateful to you 💕
It was difficult to choose a fav quite, but this dedication is one of the best - read this book based in the dedication alone
'This book is dedicated to everyone who has been told they aren’t good enough. A soul as special as yours should never be made to feel like you aren’t enough, not when you’re so much more than that. You’re unique, strong, beautiful, and capable of everything you want to achieve.  Let Cameron remind you of that. Let Halo prove it to you. And to everyone who has been with me from the start, since the first book in this series, this one is for you, too. Thank you for allowing me to tell my stories and sticking by my side, always'

It is so difficult to write a review knowing that my fav character's stories are finished - at least I can always reread - this is important.

I think it has been established that whatever Bridget L Rose touches, I will read.
I knew what I was going into when I sat down to read the book and....Wow! Just...wow! You know a book is beautiful when you're either grinning like an idiot or crying like it pays your bills. Cameron and Halo have broken and mended my heart in the most beautiful way a heart can be broken and mended.

I truly feel like Bridget gave us an alternate universe where we see Danny Ric step out of the world of F1 the way he deserved to. And I'm glad I trusted Bridget and her abilities as a writer to give us that ending, albeit fictional. This is how it should've been, this is how it was supposed to be. And I'm glad I had Saved By His Halo to give me some semblance of that perfect ending. Everyone who knows me will know I'm a sucker for happy endings. And if you are too, read this book. Read this book when life gets too hard, read it when you need to remember you just have to keep trying, read it when you need a happy ending and read it when you miss the Honey Badger who won our hearts hard and fast.

"Actually, I don’t know one fucking thing in this wonderful gift called life, or whatever the hell people call it. All I can do is hope."- Cameron Kion.

I was kindly given again the opportunity to read this gem early and it was absolutely worth the wait. This was the one that made me tear up, and honestly speaking I am so attached to Cameron and Halo that all I wanted to do was give them one massive hug and just give them the happy ending they deserve.

This was truly a love letter to the prince who never became the king, the driver that should have at least one championship under his belt, and most of all the honey badger of the grid. The small symbolism of our honey badger throughout the book truly tug every little heartstring. This book had my heart breaking and then had it stitched up all together.

One of my favourite aspects of the book is the pacing in terms of the character arcs, for example, when it came to trust, dealing with mental health, and most of all going into a relationship. Personally, Bridget nailed it with the pacing, she made it realistic as possible, there isn't a happily ever after or 'suddenly everything fix itself', like no! This book truly pushed the boundaries of not just one but both of the characters.

Now one of the greatest aspects about Bridget's books is the representation of powerful women in the motorsport field, and Bridget does just that. She made it realistic aka we are allowed to show vulnerability but it isn't seen as a weakness which is clear with Halo's sister (again I adore!).

This book made me laugh, cry, was in my feels with those spicy bangers (pun not intended), and truly healed.

It truly gave me the butterflies !

to say i absolutely devoured this book is an understatement. bridget has a way of pulling you in & making you fall in love with her characters, her backstories, this world & the found family within it.

cameron & halo are to be protected at all costs, their love story, their tension, their chemistry. everything, as always when it comes to the couples bridget writes, was top tier.

the LGBTQIA+ representation was absolutely on point as always, the insight to the everyday backlash people experience was perfect.

i loved seeing the couples of the former books pop up through this book, see where they are at in their lives.

so much more to come with my thoughts as we grow closer to release day but just know, bridget has done it again & i will forever read anything she puts out.

This was such a fun romance, Cam and Halo are SO cute together !!!

Saved by His Halo was my first book by Bridget L. Rose but I absolutely adored the whole cast of characters and I can't wait to go back and read the rest of the series so I can learn how they all became this oh so lovely found family 🥰

I also loved how present the sport of F1 is, you can really tell the author is a fan and it hit the excitement of race weekends perfectly! 🏁

I personally am not a fan of third act conflicts and felt it wasn't necessary for the story, but it wasn't that big a deal :)

Thank you so much to the author for the opportunity to read this ARC. Saved by His Halo comes out on December 20th, 2025.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Heart-Grabbing, Heavenly Romance

Cameron & Asher have stolen my heart and no I do not want it back. I honestly didn't think anyone would steal the top spot from Adrian (reserved and diffuse) but in walked Cameron. I could relate to Cameron on a personal level with everything he was battling mentally 💚

Thank you so much Bridget for allowing me to read this book early. It was such a beautiful read.

Saved by His Halo by Bridget L. Rose is an absolute gem. It's a beautifully crafted blend of emotion, tension and swoon worthy romance that had me hooked from the very first chapter. Rose’s writing is warm and immersive, pulling you into a world where love, fate, and hope intertwine in the most unexpected ways.

The characters are wonderfully developed, each with real depth and vulnerability. The chemistry between the leads is electric yet tender, and the emotional stakes feel genuine without being overdone. Characters from the previous books in the series were still amazing. I want to be apart of their little family so much 🥹

This book made me smile, ache and root for the characters all the way through. Some parts had me sobbing, both happy and sad tears. Bridget L. Rose delivers a story that’s uplifting, addictive and beautifully told.

Highly recommend! Will forever be in Bridget's corner cheering them on 🌟

woah…halo and cameron’s story was one that sucked me in and made me feel all the emotions.

the f1 details in this series is just chefs kiss. the action, the politics, the found family.

halo and cameron have this instant connection, one that’s always been there but it’s always been pushed down and locked away.

halo is experiencing love for the first time and cameron is letting someone into his heart again..so you’re experiencing all these emotions and being inside each of their povs helps develop their connection and relationship.

then EMOTIONAL CONNECTION in this book is what made me love it so much!

so lovely of bridget to let me beta read another one of her books 💕

Saved By His Halo is the 8th book in the Pitstop series and it takes us back to the world of Formula 1, mixed with a dose of broken hearts.

After a horrible crash in F1 and a messy break up, Cameron was done with it all.
Enter Asher (Halo) to the story, the guy who is determined to get a job in F1.

Halo needs Camerons help to get his sister into the F1 world, but what he really offers is a second chance at everything. 🥺

Saved By His Halo is a slow burn formula 1 romance built on shared trauma, trust issues, healing and second chances.

This was potentially rhe most bittersweet book I have read on the best way. I was introduced to the world of the Pit Stop Series when I received an arc for Reserved, and now coming to the end of this series, felt like an emotional rollercoaster.

I’ve been trying to think about how to put this into the right words, Saved by His Halo is Bridget at the very top of her game. Everything about this book is so masterful I can’t do it justice, and can’t explain enough how much this book in particular means to me. This is one of those books that I both want everyone to read and also want to hold it close and protect it.

Saved by HIs Halo is the final book in the Pit Stop Series. It follows Cameron, Formula One driver who after suffering a near fatal crash is struggling to come to terms with the fact that his career might be over, and his past trauma with his ex isn’t making things any easier for him. Asher ‘Halo’ Henderson doesn’t plan on letting him hide away, not when he needs Cam the most. But the more time they spend together, the harder it is for either of them to deny their feelings for each other. But can either of them let their pasts stay in the past and move forward to find their place in the world together?

I have loved the characters from this series for so long and so much, adn Cam and Halo are no different. If anything, I love them more. Their story is so sweet and it just tugged on my heartstrings. Those first two chapters with the first interaction between them was electric from the very start, and I had to remind myself ugh Cameron has a boyfriend. I love the way their relationship evolves, and how even as they get to know each other more and the way their relationship develops, it doesn’t change who they are and how they are together.

Seeing Cameron through the eyes of Halo and vice versa was so amazing, because these are characters that have been introduced throughout the series, and always seemed a little more on the outside of what was going on, and to have the spotlight on them, and see how the found family dynamic, which is potentially the most important theme throughout the series as a whole, made me so happy. I loved how they were exactly what the other needed, the constant reassurance, and the steady thought of I’m here, whatever you need gave me all the warm fuzzy feelings. The pining was absolute top tier. I wanted to scream at them to kiss multiple times before they did, and when

Chellie was potentially one of my favourite new characters to be introduced to. She gave such powerhouse vibes and I was all for it, but to see the vulnerable side of her reminded me a lot of when I read Chase and Rush with Valentina, and I loved seeing how Valentina being a trailblazer really helps shapes Nellie’s advancement without taking all the hard work away from her and the achievements she makes.

I love the chapters where the family does things together, they are my favourite chapters because you really feel how they all support each other, and seeing everyone interact with one another. This found family is my favourite found family and there’s always a sense of safety with them. One of the best things about the series as a whole that’s really explored in this book is that the characters are the same people no matter who views them, which POV we are reading, which has always made the whole cast feel authentic. Adrian showing Val a picture of his daughter when everyone is stressed and upset is very Adrien and its something thats really genuine. I’m just gonna pause here to say girl dad Adrian is my favourite Adrian, because him saying ‘I think she’ll be safer here’, is one of the most swoon worthy things I have ever read (which is you have ever read anything else from Bridget you know that it is a long list when it comes to her writing.)

Grief is a really strong aspect in a lot of the Pit Stop Series but in this book in particular its such a different type of grief to explore. To mourn for the future you thought you would have both with a partner, and in your career. The pain that is woven through Cameron is so potent, and honestly reading it took grief that I’ve been through and although its not the same thing, put it into words that I haven’t been able to vocalise for a lot of years. It’s heavy and it sits on you, and even when you don’t think it does, it influences you, and the way it’s explore through these characters felt so personal, it was so cathartic and put words to something that is universal and yet so personal. The beauty in the line ‘find hobbies, convince yourself it’s for the best, but its happening, and its going to make itself known’ genuinely took my breath away when I first read it.

One thing that is absolutely masterful is how well it parallels the world of F1 we all know and (mostly) love without it being alienating to anyone who maybe doesn’t watch the sport is perfection. The chapter in Brazil, reminded me so much of 24, when my heart was in my throat and Bearman was saying he was just trying not to die. The repetition of disposable and replacement is so incredible and as a fan of the sport it’s such a mirror to what happens when we look at recent years. Daniel Riccardo, Logan Sargeant being dropped, Liam Lawson being demoted, and Jack Doohan being pushed out. If you aren’t good enough, even if it’s your rookie season, they quickly determine that’s it. It happens before our eyes, and it’s almost framed as shock entertainment, but for the people it’s their livelihoods and their legacies. Formula 1 personally is my most favourite sport in the world, but it’s brutal even off track.

I loved that it wasn’t a straightforward reaction to Nachelle taking the Hawke seat, because there would always be that thought of can he be around her. It really gives credence to the idea of how do you act with good grace? The whole unjustified resentment was hitting the nail on the head. Anxiety is something that has been explored a lot throughout the series, and the focus on whether or not you’re good enough and the implication if you’re not was expertly done.

I could gush on for a million more hours, and not do this any kind of justice. Just know that this was a very bittersweet moment finishing this series and realising that it’s finished had me shedding tears. It is without a doubt the best book I’ve read this year, and the best book Bridget has written…so far.

Gosh, like any other Bridget book this one really tugged on my heart strings! I absolutely love how she makes you feel all the emotions with her characters 🥹

Cameron, really had a tough time in this book and I feel like Bridget really wrote his experience with trauma so so well. It really felt so raw and realistic. I will always applaud Bridget for how much work and research she puts in her books. One thing that I really loved about Cam was how selfless he was. He lost so much and he still remained so selfless. It was honestly so inspiring. Halo, was such a cute mmc. He grew on me so quickly and he honestly was the perfect match for Cam. I love how supportive he was of Cam.

This book was such a rollercoaster of emotions. I can’t believe that this is the last book in the Pitstop series. Like I don’t know what I’m going to do with myself now 😭

Thank you so much Bridget for this amazing e-arc, and for just writing such an amazing inclusive series.🥹 Just know you make so many of us out there feel seen.🫶

Heartbreak and swoon. The best two words to describe this book. It’s the perfect story to end the series, although I’ll still be crying that it’s over. Everyone else step aside (sorry!) but Halo and Cam are my absolute favourites. And this book takes top spot for me in the series! (I didn't think it'd be possible to top TIOAR or Reserved but here we are).

This book ripped my heart to shreds and put it back together. It was raw, and gritty. Cam was dealing with so much, and Halo was learning how to exist in a relationship. Their dynamic was so refreshingly wholesome and pure. Their interactions and hobbies are fun! Cam making Halo a perfume that smells a little like him, how freaking cute. And Halo knits!!

Absolutely loved seeing the whole crew again! Adrian as a dad was so great. Him not wanting Cameron to hold Seraphina was hilarious. Cam's dynamic with Chellie is incredible.

And the full circle moment of the title?! That had me sobbing all over again.

Thank you so much Bridget L Rose for the ARC copy. All opinions are entirely my own.

tysm to bridget for letting me arc read this book! I’m so sad that the Pitstop series is over but this was such a perfect final book and I’m so glad we got to see Cam & Asher’s story. I’ve been waiting for Asher’s story since The Inside of a Rainbow and I loved his story so much. They were so cute together and I loved their dynamic. The rollercoaster of emotions this book put me through was insane - I was heartbroken and laughing, all in the same book. I’m sad this series is over but I can’t wait to see what else Bridget writes.

tropes:
celebrity romance
hurt/comfort
yearning
f1 driver
3rd act conflict
angst

I love both F1 and LGBTQIA+ romances, so I had a feeling this would be my kind of book. And it was!

This was such a fun romance. Asher is a total sweetheart, and he and Cam are genuinely adorable together. I found myself not only rooting for them as a couple but also cheering for Cam as he worked to reclaim the parts of himself he thought he’d lost.

A heartfelt, enjoyable read. Thank you so much for this ARC!

I absolutely enjoyed reading this book. Halo and Cameron are the MMCs. Their journey through the entire book was of reluctance. I felt an emotional connection to them both. With the challenges of losing his seat in F1 to the mess with the family’s ranch, I felt the portrayal was incredible. My favorite character was Halo.. aka Asher. I was happy for them both 🫶🏾

kinda forgot to post my review so here it is🙈

release day: 10 december 2025 🫧

ok but does it actually surprise anyone that this book was a 5☆??? i've been waiting for cam's book and it did not disappoint. i think this book (alongside the reserved & diffuse books) is my favorite in the series!! i had the chance to beta read this one too and get an arc, but reading it for a second time just made me love cam & halo even more 🥹

this book made me feel so many emotions, it had me screaming and giggles and even crying at some parts. cam and halo's story was so well written, the pacing was good, and i can't just not mention all the characters coming back (and baby seraphina too).

at the beginning of the book cam is struggling to trust anyone with his heart again (understandable after what happened to him) but halo stays with him all along, letting him take his time to get there. the way cam remembers every little detail of things that halo mentioned long ago, and halo will just drop everything to get to cam when he needs it, their relationship truly is one of my favorite ❤️‍🩹

i love how bridgets' books are always so diverse and with so many representations, whether it's physically or even mentally and emotionally. the way she writes about women in motorsports and mental health especially, is something i love in her books, and something i don't see in a lot of other books.

anyways, this was one of the best books i read this year, and cam & halo are my babies and need to be protected at all costs😭🤍
