Snuł już historie o marzeniach (Wielkie marzenia), o jamniku (Anastazy), o pannie mrówce (Mrówka wychodzi za mąż), o trudnych pytaniach (Czy można dotknąć tęczy?) i o wesołej krówce (Lukrecja). A ponieważ głowę ma zawsze pełną nowych pomysłów, już niedługo pojawią się nowe!"

Little Owl is only awake during the night, and Little Rabbit is only awake during the day, so the two have never met. But they long to become friends, and one moonlit night they meet at last. Little Rabbit stays up late, and Little Owl gets up early, and they have a lovely time playing together. But they aren't able to meet very often, and they wish on a shooting star that they could spend more time together.

This is such a cute book! I love the sweet friendship between Little Owl and Little Rabbit. They are so different, but they find ways to play and connect. They discover that they have a lot in common after all.

The illustrations are so beautiful! The art work is full of magic and enchantment. The moon shines little bits of sparkle down onto the oak tree where the friends live. Every page is warm with autumn leaves and berries. I love the cute designs for the animals too!

Изумявам се от начина, по който успява да пресъздаде наглед изключително трудни неща като джунгла и нощно небе, при това да го направи толкова живо и приказно.

Чудесна книга на тандема Пшемислав Вехтерович (автор) и Емилия Джиубак (рисунки). Единственото, което ме озадачи, бе написването на история, в която дивите зайци са дневни, а не нощни животни. Това е важно за самата история и е отбелязано с бележка под линия за родителите, които четат тази книга на децата си. Въпреки това не разбирам защо не е било възможно да се избере животно, което наистина е активно през деня.
Препоръчвам.

O čom to je?
V lese sa narodí malá sova a malý zajac/králik. Od rodičov sa dozvedia jeden o druhom a sú nadšení. Problém je, že sa nemôžu stretnúť. Jeden žije cez deň, druhý v noci. Raz sa im však pri splne mesiaca predsa len podarí stretnúť, tešia sa zo seba a budujú priateľstvo. Aby o sebe vedeli, nechávajú si odkazy. Obaja však cítia, že to cez odkazy nie je ono. Nakoniec sa pri ďalšom splne mesiaca niečo stane a odvtedy oboch naháňa tieň toho druhého, aby boli akože spolu.
Ako to hodnotím?
Čo ja viem, môjmu synovi sa páčili slová, ktoré knižka používa, mne sa páčia ilustrácie, ale ten príbeh? Jednak je trochu úsmevné, že zajac je tu ako denné zviera a pritom autorka doplnila poznámku pod čiarou, že to tak naozaj v prírode nie je...a teda, že v prírode by zajac a sova mohli byť kamoši, lebo obaja sú nočné zvery...keby sovy nelovili zajace, všakže. Ale za mňa je problém inde - jednak v tom, ako sa ich priateľstvo začína bez toho, aby sa stretli (nie že by to bol problém, ale ono to skôr vyzerá ako zaľúbenie) a jednak v tom, ako to celé vyeskaluje v akejsi zvláštnej ezo rodinnej seánse a vyrieši sa to zámenou tieňov. A vlastne sa to nevyrieši - nie je to ozajstné priateľstvo, pretože nič spolu týmto riešením aj tak nezažijú a nevykonajú. Len ich naháňajú tiene toho druhého. Čo tým chcel autor povedať?

En résumé rapide, c'est l'histoire d'un bébé lièvre et d'un bébé hibou qui habitent dans le même arbre mais ne peuvent pas se croiser car l'un vit le jour, l'autre la nuit. Pourtant un jour ils se rencontrent et deviennent rapidement copains.

Alors ils se laissent quelques marques d'attention. Mais ils se manquent l'un à l'autre car leur amitié est un peu impossible par la force des choses.

Mais la magie vient un jour à leur secours pour exaucer leur vœux le plus cher, ne jamais se séparer.
Magie qui intervient, et le lièvre a pour ombre le hibou et vice-versa.

Une magnifique histoire sur l'amitié, tout tendre, tout beau, tout mignon.

Les illustrations sont magnifiques. La tendresse est partout, l'amour, l'amitié aussi.

C'est vraiment un livre magique en soit, et la magie dans cette histoire rend l'amitié tout simplement craquante.

In a tall oak tree, two families live. Newborn Little Owl lives high in the branches of the tree. Little Rabbit, also newborn, lives underground in its roots. Both wish they could meet. Little Owl and Little Rabbit's mothers kindly explain the reason: Owl sleeps days and soars the skies at night. Little Rabbit sleeps at night and hops on the ground by day. Then one day a big moon causes a chance meeting and the two are fast friends with just the briefest of time to play and build a friendship ~~ the time before Little Owl's dinner and Little Rabbit's bedtime.

Little Owl and Little Rabbit live in the same tree, but have never met because Little Owl is awake during the night and Little Rabbit is awake during the day. Will the two creatures be able to play together, even with different sleepy times?

This is the sweetest picture book featuring animals I have read to date! The writing is beautiful and the plot is simple, yet heartwarming.

The ending is perfect! And can we talk about the illustrations?! They are the cutest! I love all of the facial expressions Little Owl and Little Rabbit make throughout the book!

In a big beautiful leafy forest tree lives two family. An owl family lives amongst its branches; a rabbit family lives in a burrow underneath it.
In the Spring each family has a new baby, but they haven't met. Owl only comes out to play at night, and baby bunny only comes out to play during the day.
One beautiful night owl and bunny meet and have so much fun playing. Despite not being able to meet very often they become best friends. A wonderful lesson for children that despite differences with compassion and understanding you can still be friends with someone despite your differences.

Pekné ilustrácie, ale neviem sa zbaviť pocitu, že sa autor totálne pomýlil, začal robiť príbeh o sove - nočný tvor a zajacovi - denný tvor, aby mu niekto po dotvorení povedal - ale veď zajac je tiež nočný tvor. Tak tam šupol poznámku pod text (áno, naozaj poznámka pod čiarou), že zajac je síce nočný tvor, ale autor sa rozhodol pre účel knihy že je denný. Deťom je to samozrejme jedno, len potom máme ľudia presne také predstavy o prírode - že ježkov máme kŕmiť jabĺčkami a spasíme tým svet.

A whimsical, heart warming tail of the diurnal baby rabbit and his nocturnal companion, baby owl, who don’t get to play together much. It’s a bit cutesy-wootsie if you know that rabbit is one of owls’ favorite food sources in real life, but it’s a sweet story for kids who may be dealing with long-distance friendships. I loved the warm, richly-colored, woodsy illustrations, brimming with cute acorns, mushrooms and berries to look at.

This picture book tells the story of two different young animals, one who is nocturnal and one who is diurnal. The lesson or theme throughout is that differences should be appreciated and that there are ways to connect with others even if they are different from you. The illustrations are unique and interesting and help tell the story. The story is well written and will draw in young readers. thanks to netgalley and the publisher for giving me the chance to read and review this book.

Úchvatná ilustrovaná detská kniha o sile priateľstva pri prekonávaní zdanlivo neprekonateľných prekážok. Sovička a králiček chcú byť kamaráti, ale kvôli svojim rozdielnym spôsobom života sa im to zdá nemožné. No ako to už býva, veľké priateľstvo si nájde svoju cestu a kto veľmi chce, tomu aj vesmír trochu pomôže.

3.5 stars. an owl family lives in the top part of a tree, and a squirrel family lives in the bottom. Little owl and little rabbit meet one night when owl gets up early and rabbit stays up late. I loved the illustrations and the yellow color. I don't think I quite understood the ending, though.

Heart warming book about friendship between little rabbit and little owl. Exquisitely detailed illustrations make the shooting star and moon beam out of the pages. Great story for bedtime!
