Wow this book really took dessert to the next level 😳 Raspberries, butter, cream..they all have so many alternative uses that I’ve never considered before! This ridiculously smutty little snack was eye opening, utterly filthy and had a barely-there but rather sweet storyline that was pretty well paced, all things considered. It’s somewhat historical, features 3 MMC’s looking for love and has some very questionable food safety standards.

𓂃★3 ᵎᵎ I guess I'm reading them all because I keep coming back. This was book 3 of the Kinky ABC Anthology. This one was based around cum play, but in addition to that there was food play, feltching, and a few other things. It's also MMM!
Louis, Jean, and Hessou are all little freaks in the best way...but this author is also good at making sure there's more to the story than just that. They really get right into it, unlike the first 2 books this one starts off freaky and then the plot gets more drastic.
Like I said in my last two reviews, this is fun and freaky and I'm definitely entertained. I'm definitely going to read the last one, and most likely end up reading the rest of this series as they come out.

DNF at 35%. I couldn't get into it at all; it’s just overwritten with pretentious prose. The author is trying way too hard to sound poetic—I mean, seriously? For a PWP? 😓 It completely undermines the buildup to the smut, making me wonder what is even wrong with these characters.
That said, I do appreciate how this series is built around specific kinks, even if some parts definitely pushed the boundaries a bit too far.
On a positive note, compared to the earlier instalments, there is a massive improvement in the fourth book Bro Doll. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye on their future work.

This note at the beginning of the book made me giggle and after reading the book, I’d agree don’t try this at home 🫣🤭🤭🤭

This is the level of greatness that all smutty books should aspire to. The writing is immaculate. And you might think it doesn't matter when we're talking smut, but it absolutely does. (And if you're reading spicy books that are written poorly, get your ish together. You deserve better.)
The storyline is intriguing throughout, the characters are fully developed, the spice is decadent. Our MCs are depraved, unnerving in their desire and glorious.
I don't want to give anything away. But I will say, have you ever had a crush lick honey off their finger while staring you in the eyes? This book is that feeling in the pit of your stomach as you watch.
AND it’s part of a standalone spicy series. I can’t wait to dive in for more.

Enjoyed that more than I thought.
Didn't think I would, considering this never particularly appealed to me, but I admit the author has a very interesting style, and the characters, the plotline and the period make this my favourite book so far in this series.

I was kinda uncertain how to rate this, cuz it definitely made me uncomfortable 🫣 yup it is cum play and daaamn if they were playing. Filthy. Just the amount of times the word “obscene” is used is ridiculous and also “indecent”. It’s so much it’s noticeable.
At the same time it was so very atmospheric and layered. Also there was this feeling of the time (as it’s happening in between the great wars. It’s super French 😀 you can expect Louis - patessiere maker, obsessed with the one unique flavor. Hesaou - parfumerist, rich kinda snobbish and also black. It’s important in the concept of history and French colonialism.
And we have Jean who is just pure sunshine. No background, just farm boy, very build, very tall farm boy.
“I know,” Hessou says gently, his hand brushing Jean’s forearm. “You’re not the problem. The problem is older than all of us and smells like old church pews.”.. or
“Jean stares. Not shocked—not that much, at least—but stunned, like a boy walking into a cathedral built just for sins he never knew had altars.”
“He does look beautiful. Glowing, even under the haze. Face flushed, pink mouth, collar loose, tie askew. There’s a softness to his expression now that wasn’t there when we walked in.”
There was this soft, glowing emotion in this book that I liked very much.
What I didn’t like was the oysters, hard pass, that scene was just ewww, also Hessou having to marry a woman (even if I understood the era and the meaning-nothing is shown between them and the lady is bi from what I gather)

I didn’t like this installment. I wasn’t a huge fan of the first novel, tbh, but people led me to believe this one would be better. It wasn’t.
Being French, I’m kind of offended by books that use French but don’t get the spelling or grammar right. This book is so full of clichés about France—or, more specifically, Paris—that it’s borderline offensive. Even the names and the stereotypical French surnames of the characters felt like too much.
Honestly, I hated pretty much everything about it. Not the kink per se—I knew what I was getting into—but the execution of all of it was just horrible. The metaphor-heavy writing style, the attempts at “poetry” and prose that often came across as badly written, and the lack of any coherent plot… Even for a book that is very much smut-forward, I need there to be some kind of story.
Ironically, I thought Book 1 had a much better plot and better progression, even though it’s also supposed to be a smut-forward book. That says a lot about how little I connected with this one.
It’s not that deep, and obviously this just wasn’t my cup of tea, but I’m honestly annoyed that I spent my time on it.

The Perfect Ingredient is the third book in J. De Saint’s Kinky ABC Anthology, and in this case C stands for c*m play. Like the other books in the series, it is a quick, self-contained standalone with a very direct focus on the MMM relationship dynamic.
This one features three people in France—Louis (the baker, although pâtissier might be more appropriate), Jean (the farmboy), and Hessou (the parfumier)—and while we do not get a great deal of backstory about any of them, their dynamic is interesting enough to carry the short length. The book is very spicy, as expected, but there is also a surprising sweetness to it that keeps it from feeling purely provocative. Louis is trying to find the "perfect" ingredient for his pastries.
Jean is sweet, shy, and somewhat reserved at the beginning, and it was satisfying to see him gradually come out of his shell as the relationship developed. Louis and Hessou already had some sort of relationship before Jean, but they integrated him seamlessly, without any weird jealousy-type dynamics.
The ending lands in a very definite win-win-win HEA, which fits the tone of the story well. A short, spicy, and unexpectedly sweet entry in the series.

I’ve read MM & MMM that I’ve liked and I’ve read novellas that are all smut no plot that I’ve liked. This one was definitely not for me and it’s not because of the type of kink, it’s the way it was written. It felt like a wattpad story written by a high schooler with fantasies. I feel like also for it being such a short book already, it really dragged on

This was EVERYTHING. The tension, the spice, the romance, all of it was *chef's kiss*

I’ve read lots of reviews going on about the “pretentious prose” and the novella being snobby and too big for its boots. About it being too filthy.
Respectfully I disagree with all of this.
It’s marketed as a short MMM novella, so firstly, you should know exactly what kind of story it’s going to be.
I think people have missed the fact that it’s not set in our time period perhaps. It’s set late 1800’s, early 1900’s I’d guess.
It was a particularly pretentious time in history. Paris was decadent, life was slower and far more about experiences than the day to day, especially for the wealthy.
I think the book actually went above and beyond with this. It captures it all perfectly.
It was luxurious, decadent, filthy and also, just a story about three men who met in a time and place that they could indulge in their lust and love for each other.
There. End of story.
It’s also fine if it wasn’t for you. But there’s no need to bash a book that states what it is, clearly, and you don’t heed the warnings or appreciate how it was meant to be enjoyed.

I wanted something smutty and fast to get me out of my overthinking-everything stage I seem to be stuck in. And tbh, it worked for the duration.
The cover pisses me off, though. They look like they're wearing very modern clothing, and the book is set around the 1930s. Not only that, but they are very descriptive about what each of them is wearing... and it's not that at all!
My only rec is that you read about this series before you go into this book. This is the Kinky ABCs, and this is C for c*m play, and let me tell you... There's sooooo much. Like, everywhere.
