Payton Vaughn’s trip to Puerto Vallarta for her friend's wedding was her big escape from her ridiculously overbearing mother–oh, and that little matter with her cheating fiancé. Now, her flight's been cancelled, and she's crammed into a tiny car with the gorgeous-but-irritating best man.
Viva la road trip from hell...
Cruz Sorensen doesn't have time to babysit some spoiled socialite, even if she is the future daughter-in-law of the man who could change the fortune of his family's company. He has no business getting to know her better—not even for all the tequila in Mexico...until they wake up with grande-sized hangovers as man and wife.
Now Payton and Cruz must decide if they've reached the end of their journey...or the beginning of a new adventure.
Ashlee Mallory is a USA Today Bestselling author of Sweet Contemporary Romance, Romantic Comedy, Suspense, and Thrillers.
A recovering attorney, she currently resides in Utah with her husband and two kids. She aspires to one day include running, hiking and traveling to exotic destinations in her list of things she enjoys, but currently settles for enjoying a good book and a glass of wine from the comfort of her couch.
After her fiance cancels his travel plans at the last minute because of work, Payton has to travel to her best friends wedding in Mexico alone. Her best friend Kate asks her future brother-in-law Cruz to delay his trip a day and travel with Payton. Payton's trip doesn't start out anything like she thought, after she tries to video chat with her fiance and instead sees Boobalicious and realizes he's cheating on her, their flight has problems and then they are forced to travel through Mexico in a tiny car. Being trapped in a small car with Cruz Sorensen might just turn out to be the best thing that ever happened to Payton.
I really enjoyed this story. It was a little more angsty than I was expecting and I got a little frustrated with the characters at times but I really liked the chemistry between them. The supporting characters were fun and I loved the Sorensen family. There were a few tiny little things I didn't like but overall I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more by this author!
I. LOVED. This. Book!! I'm not even sure why I love it so much. But, isn't that the sign of a great story. It just made me happy and stays with me. Yes, there is great writing and Payton and Cruz were incredible characters yet it was the entirety of the book that sucked me in and had me glued to the pages with a silly smile on my face. This one has an unexpected road trip, a little white lie, and a whole lot of tequila! Always a combination for disaster. In the case of Payton and Cruz, it may be the best worst thing that ever happened to them!!
This sweet opposites attract romance is the story of Cruz and Payton. En route to Cruz’s brother Dominic’s (and Payton’s best friend Kate’s) Puerto Vallarta wedding , they end up stranded at the airport with no flights heading to their destination. Despite their mutual dislike of each other (from a previous meeting where Cruz’s assumptions of Payton as a spoiled socialite colored their first meeting when she overheard him speaking ill of her), the only way to get to the wedding on time is to rent a car and travel together. Having just discovered that her fiance is cheating on her and breaking off the engagement, sitting in a car for hours on end with her nemesis is definitely not her idea of a good time, but Payton will do anything to get to her friend’s wedding on time. Something happens along the way though, and when a little too much tequila and sexual tension results in a case of ‘we did what?!’ , Payton and Cruz find themselves married before they even get to the wedding they are supposed to attend! Dissolving their unintended union should be easy, but disentangling their emotions and hearts might prove to be a little more complicated – will they figure out what they really want before it’s too late?
I don’t often read sweet romances (ones with closed door bedroom scenes) but there are a few authors I make exceptions for, and Ashlee Mallory is one of them. I thoroughly enjoyed Dominic and Kate’s story in Her Backup Boyfriend, where both Payton and Cruz were introduced and I was hoping I would find this one as interesting. Lucky for me, it held up just as well as the first one in the series.
Cruz is a serious, solid guy, a businessman who is working hard to provide for his family by ensuring that their small construction company gets some good solid contracts. All he does is work, and now being stuck with Payton, a woman who he was initially attracted to when they met anonymously in a flower shop but whose subsequent meeting went all sorts of downhill when he found out who she really was (affianced, and a high society type) is putting a damper on his current negotiation – not the least of which is because it’s her former potential father-in-law whose business he’s trying to align with. This makes for all sorts of added complications for Cruz. And most assuredly, his attraction to her despite everything is inconvenient and annoying.
Payton is a young woman who for her whole life has tried to live up to the expectations of her mother – a controlling woman who has influenced all of Payton’s decisions, including putting off going to law school when her grandmother died and she was forced into helping out with all the society functions her family was involved with. Her life seemed to be planned out for her, including marrying a man from a good family who she was friends with and would be compatible as a partner. Discovering his infidelity throws Payton into disarray – her whole future that had been mapped out for her can be changed, and the first step is to get out from under her mother’s thumb. I really liked Payton, and her realization that with her own marriage plans gone, her future could include anything that she wanted.
When Cruz realizes how wrong he’s been about Payton, that she isn’t just a mindless society girl, his opinion of her changes, and along with it his unwanted attraction to her suddenly isn’t so unwanted anymore. There is a great deal of sexual tension between them, and it’s no surprise really that when they end up stranded in Mexico waiting for a car repair, a little too much tequila and a partying group of square dancers (and that was a hoot!) lead them down the path to a wedding – their own, and one Payton doesn’t really remember much of in the morning (unlike Cruz, who is quite aware of what’s happened including that he could have said no to Payton’s impromptu proposal and didn’t). There are lots of laughs in the story despite some more serious scenes, and the banter between Cruz and Payton as they travel made for a delightful read. But I really liked that Payton wasn’t willing to compromise on what she would need from Cruz in order to move forward in their relationship – wedded or not. Cruz’s business might be important to him, but she’s not willing to be second choice anymore, something she’s lived with her whole life, and she makes that clear to him. So it’s not all sunshine and roses to get to their happy ending, but one where serious decisions must be made about what will ensure a bright and loving future for them. It was a thoroughly entertaining story, with lots of laughs and a sweet romance. 4.5 stars.

It has been quite some time since this NetGalley reviewer has read such an engaging, refreshingly romantic tale with heart-melting but not overly descriptive, steamy scenes. This one, my romance book-loving friends, is focused on real emotions and romance. It is the unfolding love story of a betrayed, rich socialite and a handsome, committed to his family/business Latino who thinks he is not good enough for her. This author proves you don’t need a lot of dirty talk to speak the language of love. With witty banter, great chemistry, and a wonderful cast of believable secondary characters, you won’t want this mildly angst-filled story to end. Rating: 5 stars
P.S. Book 1, Her Backup Boyfriend, is the HEA of Payton’s best friend, Kate, and Cruz’s brother, Dominic.
Title: Her Accidental Husband, Series: The Sorensen Family (Book 2), Author: Ashlee Mallory, stand-alone, no cheating, HEA, romantic, not overly steamy.

Wow, this is a great book with wonderful characters and an emotionally charged story line. Cruz is a great hero and really came through at the end. Can't wait to read more of the Sorensen family. ☺reading 📚!

No spoilers, just my honest opinion. :-)
Payton and Cruz. I'm not quite sure what to make of those two or this story. Did I like them as characters? They were ok, but I didn't have any warm or fuzzy feeling about them, especially not Cruz. I thought Cruz was a but stiff and quite frankly a bore to me. I get he wanted be the best, but I feel he was a bit obsessed with it. Almost to the point where he almost lost what should had been important to him. Or so he claimed. I was also pretty mad for what he almost did to Payton to get his business deal. Luckily he didn't lie when Payton sort of figured it out. He felt bad and vowed never to do that again. I believed him but that was still pretty shitty of him.
Payton on the other hand I actually liked. She was filthy rich but I don't think that changed her as a person. She still had feelings and wasn't a snob or anything like that. I think she handled her unfortunate situation well. She put on her big girl panties and did what she had to do. Her mom was a nightmare and so was she father. Through all that, she seemed to have turned out to be a pretty decent person.
I guess what bothered me with this book is that I didn't really feel any chemistry between Payton and Cruz. Like nothing. So how am I supposed to believe their love? The steam level was a no go too. But that wasn't a huge problem. With all that being said, this was a ok light read. 3 stars for me.
Her Accidental Husband, the second book in the Sorensen Family series is a standalone read. It brings together Cruz Sorensen and Paige Vaughn, who have a love-hate relationship. The two initially met in the first book, Her Backup Boyfriend, when Cruz unknowingly insulted Payton, resulting in her hitting him in the head with a vase. Now, the two are thrown together when they are forced to travel together from Texas to Puerto Vallarta via car to attend the wedding of Cruz’s brother Dominic and Payton’s best friend Kate.
Cruz is a workaholic who is driven to make his father and family proud. He wants to put Sorensen Construction, started by his father, on the national map. He’s thoughtful and meticulous, and isn’t one for fun and games. After having his seventeen-year-old heart crushed when a girl left him for a guy with more money, he’s not big on relationships.
Payton, as an only child, grew up rich and privileged. While she functions just fine in that world, she’s probably more comfortable with regular everyday people. Payton is something of a free-spirit. She’s fun, energetic, and outgoing. Up until this point in her life, she has allowed her society driven mother to push her to do what she’s wanted her to do. Be it going to the right college, dating and becoming engaged to the right guy, becoming part of the right charitable endeavors or whatever to make the Vaughns look good. Payton is just weeks away from her wedding when she makes a horrible discovery.
As if her day couldn’t get any worse, Payton finds herself on the same plane headed to Puerto Vallarta as Cruz. Hours into the flight, the plane has an emergency, forcing it to land in Laredo, Texas, with no flights to Mexico. Cruz who promised Kate and Dom he would look after Payton, convinces her to agree to drive with him south.
Over the course of their two and a half day trip, the two make surprising discoveries about each other. Cruz learns that Payton isn’t as bad as he thought she was and Payton realizes it’s even more fun to poke Cruz than she thought. They also realize their attraction to one another. Payton’s fun and games become more than she bargained for when she tells people she and Cruz are planning to get married in Mexico. When a fake engagement becomes a real marriage, the two have to decide what they really want.
Immediately, picking up Her Accidental Husband reminded me why I was so excited to discover Ashlee Mallory earlier this year. My reading enjoyment continued and I was smiling throughout the book. I was even able to deal with Payton's snobby, holier than thou mother. I definitely wasn't expecting a character surprise. Even then, I could work with things. The book was simply fantastic and I found myself ranking Ashlee up there with one of my favorite authors.
My issue with the story is that I felt like it dragged out just a little too long. The constant misunderstandings and timing of Cruz and Payton close to the end took away from the book for me. I get there has to be conflict in romance but I just wish I could knock some sense into Cruz.
Even with my frustration with single minded Cruz, I still loved this story. I love that Payton discovered her self worth and what she wanted out of life. I love that Cruz discovered that he needed more out of life than just his rabid determination to be successful in business.
Cruz has two sisters who are in need of finding their own happy ever after stories. I can’t wait to see what Ashlee has in store for them.

Going to a "destination" wedding is more difficult than Payton and Cruz imagined it would be. Going to Kate (Paytons best friend) and Dominics (Cruzs' brother) wedding.
Cruz was asked to accompany (read: babysit) Payton on the flight to Puerto Vallarta, a flight that did not end,er land where expected. Forced to endure a road trip that included broken down rental cars, not-enough-room-in-the-inn situations (read: shared rooms), an engagement (Cruz and Paytons) misunderstanding and an "accidental" marriage...
Well, Payton lived up to her reputation as a magnet for trouble but it seems Cruz is not as immune to her and her "free-spiritedness" after all.
Engaging, entertaining and karma-licious....cute and fun read perfect for the beach...or on the plane to somewhere...
First, she recognizes Cruz, the brother of Kate's fiancé, a cold man whose judgment of her oozes from him almost as intensely as his hotness. Payton knows that Cruz's appearance on her flight is purposeful; she is being babysat. Payton has a (well-earned) reputation for being "free spirited," which seems to attract all manner of trouble. Payton doesn't disavow this, and she does realize that she might be a wee tad more susceptible for trouble now that she's decided that her own engagement needs to end.
For his part, Cruz is undeniably attracted to Payton, even as he views her as annoying, snobby, and attention-seeking. Worse, she's engaged to a guy Cruz thinks is a complete tool, but this fiancé also happens to be the son of a man with whom Cruz is trying to do business.
And then things go horribly, hilariously awry. Planes are forced to land, rental cars break down, hotel rooms can't accommodate two separate rooms, American tourists celebrate Cruz and Payton's "engagement," and Puerto Vallarta seems to be getting further and further away.
The one thing that goes wrong in a right way is that Cruz and Payton wind up married. To each other.
Of course this is going to cause problems, not the least of which is the way Cruz and Payton are beginning to feel about each other.
This is a fun, frothy little romance that makes you laugh and maybe squeeze your thighs together. Ashlee Mallory helps you get to know Cruz and Payton and what motivates them. Cruz is determined to take care of his family, financially at least, and make his father proud. Payton, on the other hand, has become little more than an adoring ornament for her family, and she knows that to not marry her fiancé is to disappoint her father and bring scandal to her family.
There are a few spicy scenes, some funny scenes, and some sweet scenes. As chick lit romances go, this is a good choice if you want to escape for a few hours.
Her Accidental Husband is the second in a series; the first focused on Payton's friend Kate and her romance with Dominic (who happens to be Cruz's brother). The books are standalone, but you might want to check out Her Backup Boyfriend to get to know Kate and Dominic better.
I love road trip plots, especially when they involve two polar opposites thrown together via circumstances and the entertaining chaos that inevitably follows; Her Accidental Husband was all of the above. Cruz and Payton’s tequila and chocolate fueled adventures were hilarious good fun. However there was a bit too much drama and lack of communication between them that bogged down the romance. It didn’t help that their chemistry was on the meh side. .
Okay so now that the Sorensen brothers got their HEAs, I need their sisters’ stories asap!
Just as good as book one, this time we get to see Cruz and Payton fall for each other after having rubbed each other the wrong way on their first meeting. It's fun to see their dynamic. It's not fully enemies to lovers, but there is a fun antagonism that keeps things edgy until they realize they're gone for each other. The conflict was natural and it was easy to understand why they would both pull back when things seemed to fall apart. The side characters are still great, and the road trip aspect added a lot of character to the story.
This was just as sweet and fun to read as the first one in the series. I'm kind of enjoying this Mexican family showing the snooty, entitled peeps how it's done and what's important.
Payton Vaughn is in need of a little escape from reality, she is really looking forward to her little getaway to Puerto Vallarta for her friend Kate's wedding. This trip is not just an opportunity for some fun in the sun, but also a chance to escape the clutches of her overbearing mother. Her mother has certain expectations for her, and how she should live her life, including choosing the perfect mate for her daughter to marry. And while her fiance may look good on paper, he is actually a two time cheating dog that doesn't deserve Payton. When her fiance bails on their trip for work, and her flight is cancelled, Payton is about to bail on the trip all together. That is until her best friend Kate intervenes, and lines up a alternate travel plan for her, a road trip with Kate's brother-in-law Cruz. Payton isn't looking forward to a long car ride with Cruz, but she gives in and does it for the sake of friendship...
Cruz Sorensen begrudgingly postpones his trip for a day, so that Payton can ride along with him to the wedding destination. He is not real thrilled about being trapped in the car with her and has reservations about it from the very beginning, but gives in and does it for the sake of family.
When these two sworn enemies decide sharing a few drinks together may loosen up this tense situation and possibly make things for them a little bearable for them, it ends up going a little better than they thought...especially when they wake up married to one another the next morning. Now they must decide if they can make a go of this marriage, or chalk it up to very bad drunken mistake..
This was my first encounter with this author's work and I have to say that I enjoyed it, so much so, I plan to read more of her books in the very near future. This story was fun and very entertaining, and had me smiling and laughing the whole way through! Most definitely a refreshing change of pace for me, and good NetGalley find!

1.5 stars rounded to 2. (Please, Goodreads, let us leave half star ratings...)
I'll keep this short since I'm a little annoyed at how this book ended. I didn't like the H. He didn't grow on me. He was rude and mean to the h, made many assumptions about her, and had a huge chip on his shoulder that just wouldn't go away. There was a point in the story where I thought the MCs were going to wise up and figure things out like adults, but no. It was just a tease. Then there's the ending. It was abrupt, didn't answer any questions (did he hook up with someone else during their separation?), and the h was too easy on the H. He needed to grovel and prove something instead of just saying it. Overall, I enjoyed the dual povs, told in the third person narrative, but I didn't like this story.
This was a sweet, fun and emotional read. I enjoyed watching Payton and Cruz relationship develop. They both were fun and likable characters and they had amazing chemistry. This was a quick and enjoyable read with a little drama thrown in. Payton and Cruz had to work through some personal issues to be able to give their hearts unconditionally to each other.
Thank you Entangled Bliss via NetGalley for the advance copy.
When I rate a book 3-stars = so-so book, has good parts, maybe great parts but lacking somewhere.
This book was on its way to being added to my favorites shelf. It had a likeable hero and heroine, people that are worthy where the reader is pulling for their HEA. It had a few unlikable characters doing some unlikable things (not evil) that makes the reader feel good about not liking them. It had obstacles to overcome, situational humor, an opportunity for a fake relationship that enabled the hero and heroine to get together. Even had a great locale.
About the 80% mark, the hero does something that forfeits his Best Book Boyfriend status. What made this action worse is the hero and heroine do not discuss it. At. All. There is no mention of it in the ending or epilogue.
Let’s just say this ruptured my happy feeling bubble that I get when I read a light, airy, satisfying romance. If there had been any kind of status update about this action, I could have recouped some of that bliss feeling. Nope. None.
Basic Summary: Peyton (heroine) is traveling to Mexico to attend her best friend’s wedding sans the fiancée (Brad), who cancelled last minute. Cruz (hero), brother to the groom, has been tasked to ensure Peyton arrives safely (as she is traveling alone). Peyton and Cruz have hurt feelings about each other stemming from when they met a few months back at the engagement party of the groom and best friend. At this time, Peyton is engaged to Brad. Cruz meets and dives into a relationship with a woman he meets at the engagement party. Both hero and heroine deny the attraction they immediately felt at that time. Peyton and Cruz must overcome plenty of obstacles during their travel to the wedding.
What happens on the way to the wedding?
Who adds extra drama?
Why is Peyton upset when she leaves?
What happens when Peyton gets home?
What does Cruz do that forfeits his Book Boyfriend status?
What is the epiphany moment for Cruz?
Does Cruz and Peyton discuss any events in their relationship?
It is frustrating to become invested in a book, knowing it has elements that will guarantee at least a 4-star rating and a satisfying conclusion, only to have such contradictory behavior of the hero taint the story.
Cute story about a young woman desperate to separate herself from her family and their expectations. Along the way she finds love (and you KNOW it has to be with someone unlikely, right?). But I do kind of like this family, and I'm glad each of the Sorenson siblings are getting their own stories.
this was so sweet, cute and wholesome aaa it’s been awhile since i read a romance book that isn’t full of explicit smut and shitty characters so this was nice
This was okay but also very frustrating. She's a doormat for forgiving Brad and Cruz is an idiot for the thing with Becca. Also the fact that they never talked about it... Yeah.. Didn't do it for me. Could have been good but it wasn't enough for me to round it from 2.7 stars to 3.
I received a copy of this title from NetGalley. It does not impact my review.
When I started to read Her Accidental Husband I realized it was the follow up to Her Backup Boyfriend, which is a super cute fake relationship story. I’m happy to report that this one is just as cute.
Cruz and Payton have always had an attraction to each other – even if they can drive each other crazy. It’s a moot point, however, since Cruz has all but sworn off relationships to focus on work and Payton is engaged to someone else. But when Payton finds out her fiancé has been cheating and their mutual flight to Mexico to Cruz’s brother’s and Payton’s best friend’s wedding is grounded, they must come together to find a way to make it there in time.
This book unfolded a little differently than I thought it would. I thought the marriage would happen almost right away and the rest of the book would be them trying to get out of – while falling in love. However, it focuses a lot on their road trip as they learn more about each other and their attraction grows into something more, which I really liked. We also get to see them deal with the fallout and the range of emotions and decisions they go through. I thought the overall arc was done well and I appreciated that it was a little different than I’m used to reading when it comes to this particular trope.
I loved seeing Dominic and Kate again from the first book in this series and how happy they are. I also enjoyed seeing the rest of the Sorensen clan again. I really enjoyed both Cruz and Payton. They were well-developed and likable characters. I like how Payton started to stand up for herself and make her own decisions and especially liked that it didn’t take until the final chapters for it to happen. They both had moments where I wanted to clunk their heads together for their miscommunication, but overall they were pretty great characters.
Overall, I really enjoyed Her Accidental Husband. It was a quick, fun read and pretty darn adorable. I think my biggest complaint is that the cover has nothing to do with the book – they are never once on the beach together. I would recommend it to fans of romance and those looking for a light read.
I really liked this story and it kept me turning the pages from the beginning. I loved that it had humor, romance and adventure. Aslhee Mallory did an awesome job with not making this your typical story about a trip gone wrong and the characters fall in love, this story had much more than other ones. I was holding my breath hoping that everything turned out good for Payton and Cruz.
Payton is coming off of a bad engagement that she just cancelled the wedding for as she was boarding the plane for her trip. Brad, her ex-fiance had cheated on her and Payton was looking forward to attending her best friends wedding in Puerto Vallarta. Payton wanted to escape her overbearing mother as well as Brad. Payton knew that Cruz, her best friends soon to be brother-in-law, was on the same plane and was supposed to make sure that she got to where they were going safely. This aggravated Payton as well, she did not need a chaperon.
Cruz is into his own business and is just ready to get back to what he has going on at his business as soon as he can. Cruz does not really know Payton yet, but he knows that when their connecting flight gets cancelled and they have no other options but to drive the rest of the way that he and Payton will get to know each other a little better whether they want to or not. So, Payton and Cruz set off on their adventure.
When things get sort of crazy after a few drinks one night, Payton and Cruz end up married and neither of them knows really how it all happened. They try to keep things quiet until after the wedding they are attending. When Payton's mom shows up to talk her out of cancelling her wedding to Brad, things take a turn for Payton and Cruz. Neither one of them are really sad that they happened to get married and decide to give their relationship a try, only Brad shows up and talks to Payton. I am not going to give it all away, but you need to read this one to see how things turn out for Payton, Brad and Cruz. I really loved this story and enjoyed reading it!!
Love comes unexpectedly even when you were engaged to be married
This is the second installment in the Sorensen Family series and my first read by this author. This story was interesting and it was romantic. A woman that had been engaged to a man that ended up being exactly like her father. These two people ended up meeting because of her bestfriend and his brother. But when he saw her in the flower shop it changed everything.
Cruz and Payton are first in the same flight that is going to take them to the wedding of the most important people in their lives. But it was not a clear cut flight from Dallas, Texas to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico because just before the airplane crosses the border they have to land in a small airport in Laredo. Then just their luck there is no flight from there to their destination and it seems that they are going to have to drive. These two people are like oil and water but maybe that is the reason that they have this instant chemistry. They are so different but also perfect for each other. Cruz and Payton are going to have a fun, wild ride from the moment that left until the moment that they get to the wedding. Payton knows that she is not going to marry Brad because of his cheating but doesn’t mean that this closeness between her and Cruz is developing into something more. But when they get to Puerto Vallarta they are married, her mother is there and then her ex-fiancé shows up and let the fireworks begin.
Her Accidental Husband was a sweet read. But there was something in this story that I couldn’t get into the story. I knew that they were meant for each other and the chemistry was their but there was something missing. Ms. Mallory did a great job with her writing skills.
Received ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an Honest Review
This is such an enjoyable series to listen to. The characters are likeable and a family I would love to be a part of. The storyline was different then I have read before and I appreciated that. I also liked that it included Dominic and Kate's wedding.
Payton Vaughn has spent her entire life living by her mother's rules. She is doing the work her mother wants her to do, presently herself a certain way, and even plans to marry the man her mother wants her to marry. Well, until she finds out through video chat that her fiance is cheating on her. She calls off the whole thing and decides to just focus on getting to her friend's wedding in Mexico. She didn't expect to be stuck with her infuriating friend's future brother in law, Cruz, for the trip. Eventually they start warming up to each other and spend a wild night drinking too much tequila, just to wake up together in the morning with a marriage certificate in their room. They come from two completely different backgrounds but both want to make it work.
It was so much fun on their trip when they would start to bicker with each other and rile each other up. I loved how sweet they were with each other at times but towards the end of the book I just wanted to hit them both for acting like children. When the HEA came along I felt like it was too rushed and didn't answer some of the questions in the book. I didn't dislike this one but it probably won't be something that I remember a few months from now.
I received a copy of this book through NetGalley from Entangled Publishing for an honest review. I was unexpectedly surprised that the story didn't go the predictable route where they were married after a drunken night early on in the book. The characters and story developed... and then of course they were married after a drunken night. Even though I knew it was going to happen, I found myself getting more and more invested with the characters as we led up to this eventuality. It was also easy to predict the very gentle, kind and selfless Payton was not going to come first to Cruz's job at some point. You knew it was going to be heartbreaking and that built up the anticipation for how they would get to their ultimate HEA. I absolutely loved Payton and how she was not a product of her environment, regardless of the assumptions Cruz made. There is a previous book with her friend and Cruz's brother, but this was easy to read as a standalone.
Bonus points for my favorite movie of all time being mentioned - Romancing the Stone. When the suggestion of taking a bus came up I thought the same thing!!
An epic road trip through Mexico, ends up with tequila and a wedding makes for fun read. Payton and Cruz are opposites. Payton, a spoiled socialite, just found her fiance cheating. Cruz is a work alcoholic, and does have time for romance. They are both heading down to Puerto Vallarta for a wedding. With a few speed bumps on the way, they find themselves as man and wife. Payton's mother is a number class snob otherwise known as the dragon!, and does not approve, Ex fiance shows up and tries to change Payton's mind. Now Cruz has to prove, is he worthy of her love.
I loved this fun sweet romance!! This book will leave you smiling well after you are done reading. Loved the chemistry and banter between Payton and Cruz. I am thinking that, Cruz has a few more siblings that will need HEA!!
I received this book from netgalley for an honest review. I highly recommend this story to all romance readers.
Great book! The characters were fun, I loved watching Cruz and Payton grow into themselves. They changed before my eyes and for the better! Payton thought she had it all, money, family and a finance she thought she loved. When a wake call happens to her she see's there is more in life than what she was lead to believe her whole life. Cruz wants success and thinks he isn't complete until he has it. Cruz and Payton got a rocky start back at his brother's engagenment party and neither forgot the barbs Cruz threw at Payton, and when they get stuck on a car ride to Mexico anything can happen. From getting married to growing up for once in there life and seeing whats important. This was a fun read and look forward to more of Ms. Mallory's work. Honest review for an ARC.
