Prime Time #3

Now or Never

Rate this book
Now or Never is the third book in the contemporary women's fiction/family saga series, Prime Time, which began with Anna Mason’s story in Auld Acquaintance.

In this book, two of Anna’s dear friends travel to Italy for very different and urgent family reasons.
Will Maria find common ground at the villa with her rebellious teenage daughter before it is too late?
Will Susan persuade her husband, Jake, that a new, unproven treatment for multiple sclerosis may be a risk they cannot afford to take?
Anna helps both her friends from a distance then draws them together for an unexpected event that provides an exciting conclusion.

Who is Ruth Hay?
I am a retired teacher-librarian who loves books, reading, writing and storytelling.
After a lifetime of writing for education purposes, I can now create the kind of family-friendly stories I have always loved to read.
I have been lucky enough to travel and those adventures feature in my Prime Time novel series.
Visit Scotland, England, Greece, Italy and Egypt with my heroine Anna Mason.
Have you ever known a family that didn't have some kind of mystery to solve? Anna Mason's family is no different. The thing that most surprises, and shocks, Anna, is how much was hidden from her.
How does she uncover the answers? That involves time, travels, a concealed journal and a new home in Scotland that gradually gives up its secrets. Not until the sixth, book, are the most unexpected developments revealed.
In 2016 I added a new chapter to Anna's life story. Read it in Return to Oban. Will there be more? I can't wait to find out!
Also in 2016 the Seven Days Series was completed. What a busy writing year! This series introduces four women who reunite in a luxurious holiday in the English Lake District. Of course, they have a wonderful time together but no one could have expected the surprising events that set off changes lasting far longer than just one week. There are six novels with the last having two sections. Lots of heartfelt reading for you. Which of the women will be your favourite; Zoe, Valerie, Corinne or Sandra?
In 2017 I am working on a new series. Sign up for my monthly Newsletter www.ruthhay.com to get updates.
Thank you for being one of Ruth's Readers.

The next chapter in the Prime time series Now or Never. Susan's husband Jake wants to go to Italy for anew treatment for MS. It is not a proven treatment or cure. Susan is worried. At the insistence of Maria's husband Maria and their daughter Lucy go to Italy to restore a relationship. They need to find common ground and Lucy needs to grow up a bit. The common ground is right under their noses. When another of the Sambas decides to marry in Scotland, Maria, Lucy, Susan, and Jake head there to meet Anna for Bev's wedding. Maria's cousin Angela comes as a message therapist and meditation coach for Jake. Ruth Hay is just so pleasant to read. Not only does Lucy grow up a bit but Maria and her daughter are now in a better relationship.. Maria has changed also.

It was slightly better than #2 but no where near as good as #1. I was so sure I had found a new author that I could read and have more books coming. I also have read #1 of two of her other series and now am afraid to get more of those series. I wont buy any more of the Prime Time series. Number 1 was the only good one of the three I have read.

This book, the 4th in the series, concentrated on Maria and her family (she is one of the 5 good women friends in a group they call SAMBA, all of their first name initials. As with other books in the series, the author's sense of place comes to the forefront as Maria and her 17 year old daughter visit Italian relatives in a small mountain village. The family relationships of Maria and also of another friend Susan and her husband Jake. Loved it!
