Love isn’t always easy to find. Sometimes the cost of finding the wrong love can make one reluctant to accept a true love when it comes along. Sometimes it requires Help from Beyond...
Avery Langhorn has a terrible track record when it comes to choices in men. He’s also had someone watching over him without his knowledge. Avery was born with a heart defect that wasn’t detected until he was a teen and nearly died. The kindness of a stranger’s family allows him to live his life without the possibility of an untimely death, and Avery hopes to somehow pay back the debt he owes his donor, but he’s not sure how.
There’s been a voice in his head since he woke from surgery, leading him down a path with protective advice along the way. It strikes Avery as odd that the voice doesn’t sound like anyone he’s ever met, but it’s always full of knowledge and good advice. The voice has steered Avery clear of heartbreak more than once—that is, when Avery listens to it.
When a stranger comes along to rescue him during a freak accident, the voice tells Avery the man is important to him and he should give the guy a chance. Is the voice right, or is it just Avery’s overactive imagination?
When Avery meets the owner of the voice, should he listen to it, even when it seems impossible that the voice is right?
This work of fiction is a standalone novel without a cliffhanger that ends in an HEA.
I give 5 stars no matter what, unless I can't finish a book or I find it offensive. I want to encourage writers and recognize that putting a book out into the world is a vulnerable process . The rest of the review is my actual opinion of the book: This book claims to be written by a best selling author but I found the book to be poorly edited, stilted and awkward in its descriptions and dialogue, and constantly telling instead of showing. It felt very rushed and random. The supernatural side plot was ridiculous, the insta-love was not particularly believable, & the sex scenes were off putting. The main character is a heart transplant recipient and even during or after they have sex there is no revelation that the guy obviously had a thoracic procedure. The love interest is shocked and puzzled later that he has a cardiologist. Just not well thought through issues like this were utterly distracting. Major plot holes were constantly take me out of the story.
I absolutely loved this book! It was different from my usual reads and I really enjoyed it. It is the first book in the Help From Beyond series. This is the story of Avery Langhorn and Holden Rose. Avery is a cheerful and happy young man. Life is going well except for the fact that he thinks he may be going crazy. Ever since his heart transplant, he has been hearing a voice in his head that isn't is. Usually with accurate opinions about his life. Holden is a quarter owner of Tire and Track Rescue, a tire and track link repair business for heavy duty construction and paving equipment. He is also trying to get over the death of his sister in a car accident seven years earlier. His parents are mired in their grief and Holden wants to figure out how to get past it. On his way home from Christmas with his parents, he follows tracks near an accident and finds a car down an embankment. This is when Avery and Holden first meet. The voice in his head is encouraging Avery to seek out Holden. This is their story. I received a complementary advanced review copy of this book from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review. The book is very well written and easy to read. I loved how the story was told. Happy is an amazing character. Six degrees of separation come into play in this story. Both Avery and Holden were engaging characters. I was drawn into their story. I look forward to more books by this author.
It's a light hearted haunting as the spirit of a young woman tries to fix up her heart recipient Avery with her brother Holden. Avery is prodded by a voice only he hears and finally a vision of a woman, one who wants her family to overcome their grief and meet her organ recipients, so she can move on. It's a sweet love story that brings healing to two families and introduces a new character in this delightful new series. I received a copy of this and this is my voluntary opinion.
This heartwarming paranormal read had me in tears at times. I do believe that if you donate your organs upon your death the recipient hold residual information about the donor ! This storyline lends itself to my belief. These two warm my heart as they traverse the tricky donation road.
