Dark Corruption is a dark mafia and BDSM romance. I recommend checking your trigger warnings and buckle up for a dark sexy ride you won’t ever forget!
Cora, our FMC, is a sweet beautiful girl with a hidden interest in seeking out her darkest desires. Then you have Ewen, our MMC, who is a broody dangerous mafia man with a darker appetite for the most salacious and depraved acts. The chemistry is palpable but when these two finally connect it’s delicious and explosive all at once. Ewen intends to claim Cora in every way possible, which makes it hard for her to resist. Their intimate moments are full of emotional intensity and yearning that will have you begging for more! The narrators Zoe Baxter and Preston Capes performance was pure ecstasy with the most authentic Scottish accents! I could have listened to these two for hours and would still crave for more. Zoe and Preston’s chemistry was absolutely exquisite and will have you seeing stars! Thank you Blue Nose Audio and Effie Campbell for this ALC opportunity!!!!

After having read some of Effie’s book already and being from Scotland I knew to had to give the McGown Mafia series audio a listen. Let me tell you I wasn’t disappointed!
I loved Ewan and Cora’s story how they were both very opposite yet, held the same dark desires as each other, just they didn’t tell anyone about them. Cora was so innocent and a virgin when the story starts, she is very sheltered and is focused on her university course and having the career she always dreamed of. Ewan runs his own sex club and is tired of the routine he has fallen into where he is alone and everyone around him seems to be in happy relationships, especially all his siblings.
Once these two finally get together the spice is pretty intense with their particular kinks, but boy is it hot. I love how brutal Ewan can be, yet such a puppy dog for Cora. Cora is exploring all her fantasies and she is opening up to him in ways I don’t think she ever expected. But the biggest change was fro Ewan as he let someone in that filled a space in all aspects of his life, that he just couldn’t live without. Where some of the things he did questionable, yes of course, but you just love him even more for them.
Zoe Baxter and Preston Capes are just great as Cora and Ewan, so nice to hear the Scottish accent, made me feel right at home with all the little phrases they use that I would also say!
Love this one and will be going back to listen to the others.

This was one of the first books I read from Effie Campbell back when it came out in 2024 and boy did it get me hooked on the McGowan’s!!! Being able to listen to it in audio form after listening to the first 4 definitely brought this full circle!!
This book is about Ewen McGowan and Cora and I instantly became OBSESSED with Ewen even in audio form! Boy, is he hot! And that mouth!! Obsessed with Cora being an innocent virgin with a dark side just waiting for Ewen to corrupt her. He falls first HARD!! The Obsession, the stalking and the Somno! He has been waiting for someone to be able to handle his dark side and he met his match with Cora! Loved Alfie’s cameo in this book as well! You need to listen to this audio!

Blue nose audio did an amazing job producing this book as well!

Dark Corruption by Effie Campbell is the final book in the McGowan Mafia series, and honestly, it couldn’t have wrapped up any better than with Ewen and Cora’s story. These two are twisted desire, obsession, completely unhinged… and somehow still a beautiful love story all at once.
Narrated by Zoe Baxter and Preston Capes, the audio is chef’s kiss. They brought this world to life so perfectly, the voices fit the characters so well. Their chemistry is absolutely off the charts. You can feel every emotion, every bit of tension, every spark of that unhinged desire.
There are definitely plenty of triggers in this book/audiobook, so make sure you check them before you dive in! But if you love dark romance, unhinged couples, and spicy mafia stories, I really think you’ll enjoy this one too.

Cora is the sweet twin who craves way more. Ewen finds out that she is covering her sister's shifts and pretending to be her in his club. He is intrigued and wants to mark her in every way possible. Zoe Baxter did an amazing job as Cora. Her voice portrayed an innocent and curious woman. The more experience and exposure Cora got, the more confidence she had in her voice. Preston Capes did a fantastic job convincing you that he was a man who wanted to corrupt poor innocent Cora. The spicy scenes had me blushing! I also loved his character development as he realizes he loves her. Great cast and an action packed story. A fitting ending to this series!

This was a reread via audio for me. Ewan's book was one of my favourite, and Zoe and Preston did absolutely amazing bringing Ewan and Cora to life and their story.
I loved the BDSM club and the whole stand in of Cora for her sister at the club.
Overall, this was another great book from Effie, and another awesome production from BlueNose!

I loved this couple especially the FMC I think she’s my fav one in the series. She matched Ewen in every way.
Cora was up for anything he threw her way and it was so good. The twists near the end of this one were heart stopping and I was waiting to see who survived.
