Wow! This was absolutely amazing! The storyline felt so original, both in its premise as well as the past and present connection between this hero and heroine.

Silas’ journey was heartbreaking for me. I yearned for him to find solace and comfort. The way he was used just made me ache for him all the more., and I desperately needed him to find peace in his life.

Ursula was fierce, independent, and not ready to let the past go. Watching her gradually move from that place into acceptance of him had everything I love in a second chance romance.

Together, they were electric! Their chemistry set the pages of my Kindle on fire, and their struggle toward a happy ever after was filled with emotion, angst, drama, and steam. It just doesn’t get any better than this!

I’m always excited for one of Sherilee Gray’s releases. I love this world she’s created and how the characters all connect and interact. I’m rarely disappointed with one of her books, and while I enjoyed this one, I felt like it was lacking. I really wanted more scenes within the tournament itself. I thought that having the two main characters competing in a tournament against other creatures was really unique for the series, but it felt rushed. We didn’t even get the names of the other competitors. Adding an extra hundred pages or so would have really flushed out Silas’s dilemma and added to the tension between him and Urs. The ending also felt flat to me. We usually have some sort of showdown between the main characters and the big bad of the book, but this time it just ended with basically paperwork. This is the first time I was left wanting more after finishing one of Gray’s books.

Received ARC from Author!
Honestly, I love everything Sherilee has written and Fallen’s Rebellion was no different! The constant tension and push and pull she writes into her characters allows for such a fun read while building a world and continuing an epic storyline over so many novels and series is a talent that all I can do is sit back in awe while feasting on ever book I get to read! Silas and Urs was a story I have waited for and Sherilee delivered! I loved the forced proximity and trials they overcame to FINALLY get their HEA! And to now have a set up for another event in their world I’m so freaking excited!!!! If you haven’t read this author yet you are truly missing out!!! Start with her Knights from Hell series AND the Thornheart Trials before you reach Silas and Urs…but once you do you will not be disappointed!!! Ugh can’t wait for more!!!!

I was super intrigued for Ursula and Silas's book after the small teasers we got from the last Hellhound book.

Alas sadly it did not live up to what I hoped for. And while I can point at the author for choosing to focus on one thing over another or using the miscommunication/non communication trope a little too long ultimately I feel that it came down to my own enjoyment of those aspects tbh. So for someone else those little things might not irritate, frustrate them or try their patience like they did mine and therefore damped my enjoyment.

But with that said I DID enjoy this one quite a bit. I'm gonna ramble, beware spoilery ish ahead!

It was fascinating and the tournament was an intriguing concept that maybe could have used more fleshing out to feel truly as big a deal as it felt in the beginning. Though I was also fine with not spending a ton of time on it either for the sake of more one-on-one scenes with Ursula and Silas.

I found Silas to be exactly everything I wanted him to be tbh. Maybe a bit too martyr-ish imho if I have to nitpick. But otherwise I adored him. He was loyal as hell (hah!) and carried a lot of heavy emotions I think even after years of being fallen he still hadn't quite figured out how to handle them. He also took on a lot of responsibility for everyone else and he just needed a huge hug tbh.

Ursula was just as badass as all the handmaidens tend to be. I found her both fascinating and likeable as well as frustratingly stubborn and obtuse. Especially when it came to her relationship with Silas. I loved her loyalty and her relationship with Lucifer and her sisters but man she was so slow to realize the obvious whereas Silas was concerned.

I think I would have preferred her true reason for breaking up with Silas the first time had it been simply he kissed her twin by accident. Because the fact is it all boiled down to her using her other ability to "read" his emotions only to find emptiness. Nada. And so to Ursula that meant the handsome fallen angel who gave her his virginity, was sexually responsive, cuddly and affectionate with a sense of humor clearly didn't feel anything for her, like, at all! To her mind she thought he was faking. Imitating human emotions the way the hounds do. And she couldn't be with someone who felt nothing for her. Did she ever tell Silas this back then? Nope!

Like, um... What?! 🤔 Ursula was legit ancient years type of old like Silas himself but in all her life she never realized that angels had a block on their emotions? Oh she knew they all read the same way, like Silas did, like an empty void. And so Lucifer had to finally finallllllllllyyyy in like the final hour (last chapters) basically pat Ursula on the head like "oh child you didn't know? Angels have emotional blocks to keep them from being manipulated by having their emotions read. Let me fix that for ya." And zapped Silas and removed his shield and wahlah! Ursula about collapsed from the onslaught of emotions that man had for her. Like be so for real y'all!

Honestly that was a huge part of my disappointment with this story. I hated that it took foreverrrr for Ursula to admit to Silas she "read" him back then and now and that he felt nothing at all, that he was empty. As if that was a fact! And that she did it three years ago and THAT'S why she broke it off with him. When he believed it was because he kissed her sister and in her eyes cheated on her even by accident and I guess the insult of mistaking her twin as her regardless of her twins evil intentions. And Silas felt such shame too after that, for what happened between them and other sins he committed and that's why he pierced his nipples and dick. To freaking torture himself with pain and disfigurement. To atone.

And ya know thinking about it now it just pisses me off that Ursula caused him so much grief when she could have communicated with him what she freaking did and maybe also she could have TRUSTED him for how he treated her and acted with her because when they were together everyone could read his feelings for her but because his insides were quiet she doubted him. 😆 Like in any other genre that would sound nuts, right?

And hey, I get Ursula had some ugly trauma from her early years that maybeee played a big hand in that distrust regarding Silas's feelings and felt using her ability would confirm what she thought he felt and remove any doubt and fear of betrayal like before but... Honestly I'm just gonna stay mad at her. 🫣🤷🏻‍♀️ She put my man Silas THROUGH it and still admitted to us and him that she pushed him away because she wanted him to fight for her and he did in his way but he was way too polite and respectful of her wishes that she thought he didn't fight for her. But come on, Silas didn't think to look past her anger and rejection. She told him to fuck off time and time again basically so he figured the best thing he could do for her was give he space and leave her alone no matter how much he just wanted her to talk to her, to explain, to get her forgiveness. He put HER first.

Anywayyyy. 😌🫢 I loved Silas. Wished Ursula had just been honest and also maybe mentioned reading Silas's emotions to Lucifer sooner to clear up that misunderstanding/miscommunication nonsense. But it's still a solid read and obviously got me in my feels so well done 👏🏻 😆

I woke up one morning bleary-eyed and in sore need of coffee, as one is prone to. And as always—because I clearly like my cortisol levels really high in the morning—I checked my emails while brewing my coffee… and saw that finally, finally, I got an ARC, and for The Fallen’s Rebellion!
(Insert whatever onomatopoeic representation for the word bliss, here!)

I genuinely considered taking the day off—and almost did—but being a responsible adult (who would most probably have finished the book in one day if I had), I decided against it…
So yes-here’s my review:

I got this as an ARC, and honestly I’ve been waiting for Silas’s book for a long time. Throughout the series, he’s always been in the background—quiet, unreadable, a little unsettling—and I kept wondering what his story would actually be like. Was he too goody two-shoes or shady? You couldn’t get a read on him! So angelically intriguing 🤨

In this one, he’s paired with Ursula, Lucifer’s handmaiden, and they’re thrown into a kind of Hunger Games-style competition. It immediately reminded me of the Immortal Games from Immortals After Dark, but surprisingly, the games aren’t really the main focus. The story leans much more into trust, fear, and miscommunication.

Silas is exactly what I expected in some ways—he doesn’t explain himself, he just acts. You have to read between the lines with him. And Ursula really struggles with that. If she can’t understand him, she can’t trust him, and that tension carries a lot of the story. Watching her slowly (!!!) work through that, while Silas just keeps showing up in his own way, was honestly befuddling and at times, frustrating.

I loved seeing some familiar characters pop in, even briefly. It felt nostalgic and made the world feel connected. I had missed them and reading these scenes made me wonder about the further future developments in this world.

That said, I did wish a few things were explored more deeply—especially the angel side of things. It felt like there was more there that we only just touched on, so I’m hoping that gets expanded on.

One thing that stood out to me is that this book feels a bit different from the others. It’s not as dark or gory—it’s more bittersweet, with a strong focus on loyalty and emotional growth. I liked that change, even if it surprised me a bit. I’m not sure how other readers might interpret it.

Overall, I really enjoyed it. It’s not the most action-heavy book in the series, but if you’ve been curious about Silas, it’s definitely worth the wait.

That being said… when’s the next one? I’m really eager to get back to the witches! I feel like I might’ve picked up on hints of a new, overarching storyline, but who knows. Either way, whatever comes next from Sherilee Gray, I’ll definitely be reading.

Silas and Ursula’s story has been a long time coming, and it really feels like it here—their HEA is not easily won, with a lot of history and emotion behind it.

There’s an bit of a funky twist on the miscommunication trope (sorry not sorry), with Ursula holding back after a perceived past betrayal. Given who she is—a fierce, stubborn, badass warrior who can hold a grudge like it's an Olympic sport—it works well and makes her hesitation feel authentic and her ultimate acceptance of their love really hard earned. Silas, meanwhile, is exactly the kind of MMC Sherilee Gray always delivers for us: a bit emotionally idiotic at times, but also absolutely, undeniably gone for their woman. Silas? Down catastrophically! The man would crawl over broken glass without batting an eye if it meant protecting Ursula...

A lot of the obstacles to them getting their HEA come from external conflict, especially the angels (still terrible, still causing problems), which adds tension without making the relationship itself feel overly frustrating. The trials/tournament element added stakes and intensity, and the emotional beats? They were beating. You can feel every step of their journey back together. That said, I do wish parts of the tournament had a bit more room to breathe—it felt slightly rushed compared to how big and intense everything was supposed to be.

As expected, the chemistry delivers—the spice is spicing just right and fits so naturally into their emotional arc. Overall, this was such a satisfying conclusion to Silas and Ursula’s story. Emotional, action-packed, and deeply romantic in that “I would burn the world for you” kind of way.

If you’ve been waiting for their story, it absolutely delivers!

I initially thought this was part of the Hellhounds series, but when I started reading I realized I didn't recognize any of the side characters. This is related to the Hellhounds as both characters are in it, especially in book three and I was really interested in their story. So I went and read the books in this series. I love the world building the author has done with the different series and how they're all interconnected. All that to say, I'm glad I read the other books to get to this.

I loved Silas and Ursula, individually and as a couple. I loved the evolution of Silas as a fallen angel to becoming family with the Knights of Hell. We didn't see much of Ursula in this series but we see some of her turmoil in the Hellhounds. She's one of Lucifer's handmaids, and her backstory is also tragic and has shaped her to who she is today.

Lucifer asks Silas to represent Hell in a deadly tournament and he's paired up with Ursula who hates him because of their past.* They need to trust each other while navigating their feelings. I loved these two, and also seeing Lucifer's evolution as well.

*They dated in the past and Ursula has a twin, and Silas thought the twin was her and he was making out with her. The twin did it on purpose. Silas has only been with Ursula.

**ow/om: besides Ursula's twin, Silas was engaged in an arranged marriage(angel version of it). That causes some jealousy.

Firstly, I loved being back in this world and among these beloved characters, catching up with them and diving into this new story. Secondly, Fallen’s Rebellion was amazing. Thirdly, there was action, adventure, passion, steam and sizzling chemistry oh my. There were revelations and hints of things to come that I can’t wait to see how they unfold, affect the world and characters.

Silas and Ursula’s story was one that I looked forward to and it didn’t disappoint. It was drenched in emotion. I felt for both of them. There was a lot of emotional baggage, hurt, anger, pain and resentment between them. I loved the way it was handled and resolved. I also loved getting an up close and personal look at their relationship dynamic and watching these two warriors come together.

I stayed up way past my bedtime reading this and have zero regrets. My interest was piqued and never waned. I was engrossed and invested in these characters and their story. I devoured it over the course of a few hours. I loved it and can’t wait for more. I most definitely recommend it whether you’re new to the series or not go forth and read it.

From the Knights of Hell through the Thornheart Trials to Hell Hound Heat, I have remained a steadfast fan!! I have loved getting to know every character and reading every one of their backstories!! I did receive an ARC copy of this book, but I would have gladly paid for a copy!! Anyone like myself who has read all the series will appreciate Ms. Gray adding glimpses and little updates into their lives. Reading Silas and Ursula's backstories had me in my feelings, and I was just as into "their" backstory! This had a little bit of everything action, drama, camaraderie, rivalry, and some spice! Nothing heavy in any area, but what one would expect from this couple - an Angel and a Handmaid of Hell. I also appreciated having a little insight into the Angels as beings and their ways. As always, this book gives you what you need for the telling of this couple but leaves you wondering which tidbit could (hopefully) become a new book, possibly in a new series!! Another book we'll done Ms. Gray!! Kudos and Thank You!!

Ursula and Silas are the couple you want to win in the end but they face so many obstacles that you truly feel like it’s not going to be an HEA.

Sherilee brings us into a tournament where an advantage over others is a huge deal and the winners receive the ultimate prize. Enter Silas and Ursula. These two have a heated past that didn’t end exactly back in the friend zone. And because of this, they have to make a truce in order to win the tournament. Conflict much? Geez. Who are they up against? Angels, Cats, Wolves, Vampires and Witches. Did I mention that Silas is a fallen angel and Ursula is one of Lucifer’s handmaidens?

The battle between the good and evil is tough, but the battle between broken hearts is ever harder.

Sherilee is a master at emotional scenes and brings the feelings of all her characters to the forefront. Yes there’s spice but the feels are real.

Poison and betrayal
You have two characters, one MMC who is dying for forgiveness for a manipulation carried out by her twin. The FMC is dying to kill the angel but really just wanted a little more fight from him to show he was worthy and really wanted her. They face a deadly trial and have to rely on each other. They both declare a truce in order to make it through. We have spice, drama, death, manipulation, lies, mistrust and revelations. We also have mention of the trusty hellhounds always a pleasure. The knights who are fighting and protecting alongside the MMC, they don’t give up till they have all the facts. Then we also see a snippet of the thornhearts loved that series.
The ending was well deserved !

Silas and Ursula❤️‍🩹💣

Wow, what a fantastic story🙌 I’m actually speechless…I don’t quite know how to describe all the feels I got from this book.

We know Silas and Ursula got together a few years before and Ursula’s sister comes between them. Since then Silas has pined for her but Ursula appears to have gotten on with her life. Lucifer has asked them both to represent Hell in the next Tartarean tournament, though he hasn’t told Ursula who she will be paired with😳

Fabulously woven story with fast paced action and suspense in a world of characters I absolutely love, and I for one cannot wait for what comes next❣️ I received an advanced copy and willingly leave my honest review😍

How do I even begin with this book. I loved it, as I have all of these books. It was wonderful delving back into all these characters and seeing how the storylines continue to fit together. As usual, there is so much angst and action and heat. It takes you from heartbreak to anger and then stitches you back together again. It was a gripping journey. I think the only thing I wanted to see different was that I wanted a confrontation and some sort of resolution with Uma. That felt like it was left open ended but other than that it was a fantastic book. I am so thankful to have received an ARC of this book.

I couldn’t wait for Silas & Ursula’s story & Sherilee did not disappoint! She always has a way of storytelling in each of her books that grabs you & sucks you into every book, invested in the characters and their journey. The challenges they faced during the deadly trials and the vulnerability each had for their undeclared love for one another was addicting and I finished this book in less than a day!

We are back!! I loved being back with these characters and the sprinkling of the Hounds and Thornhearts made my reading experience that much more enjoyable. I have patiently waited for Silas and Ursula to get closure on their story and was not disappointed. Throw in a tournament with a Demi-God and you have the makings of a great time.
