Imagine if Dr. Seuss met Mr. Darwin and wrote a book...
For centuries, children’s books like The Jungle Book and Aesop's Fables have delighted millions with mythical stories for why animals do what they do. These stories are imaginative, but there are facts about real animals and plants that are even more fantastical!

I was into the idea of a children's book about evolution, but the execution floundered some for me. Totally willing to admit it might be my unfamiliarity with (and lack of great interest in) children's books.

Enjoyable book, with nice illustrations and interesting science. The poems are hit or miss; some are charming. It is good to see the mix of people involved in science. Perhaps the book will inspire curiosity in the target young audience.

Una delicia de librito. Lo recomiendo para hijos y sobrinos curiosos por sus rimas facilonas y sus ilustraciones pastel. Nunca pensé que la divulgación para niños podría ser tan buena.

4 stars for the fantastically accurate science and the accessibility of the complex concepts. -1 star because I really couldn't see the resulting mini-stories as "poems" due to their length and awkward meter.
