This book was just another home run by the author.
I smiled and laughed so much while reading this book that I just wanna say thank you to the author.
Thank you for making such well thought out and individual and amazing characters. Thank you for writing a book that was well thought out and had range and had a beautiful flow and was filled with so much love and devotion and ferocious loyalty. The humor was one of the best that I’ve ever read. The dialogue was amazing . It was just so fucking good.
Thank you for not giving us cookie cutter characters. Thank you for not giving us all the token characters that we get nowadays. Thank you for showing that their strength in softness too. Thank you for not flooding the pages with 50 million plot lines and way too much action.
I could go on and on and on. It was just so good and so witty and so fun and so well written.
What I do wanna know, how does a Claxon in a Gulag sound like? Lol.

Super Sweet Sequel

I’m still enjoying this mostly cozy escape from a life with (pathetically) only ONE fantastic man, instead of 3. I’m now convinced I need to clone my husband! Anybody got a cloner?
I still wouldn’t have a dire wolf though…

It’s fun to read about having 3 adorable and adoring husbands and a dire wolf though. But don’t take my word for. Read this series and see for yourself!

Freaking Fantastic!!!! The second book was even better than the first book. The banter just keeps getting more hilarious. The twins got exactly what they deserved and I love that Brummy is healing and being able to communicate more and more. His names for Cas, Koa, and Zane are hilarious. Seri definitely should have called Lucian pill because I laughed way to hard at that. This series is amazing so far and I am so glad I waited until book three released to start it, because I am inhaling these books so quickly.

I love how romantic all 3 brothers are. They never falter. It is refreshing to have a series where there isn't constant angst between the love interest. Its all focused on the truly wicked step mother. I love this trilogy.

Book two in series

Seraphina settles in with her trio of mates while evil black magic users plague them and plan world domination. The dhamphir brothers are usually fearsome killers but melt under Seri's loving care. Seri also thrives and the tender moments are balanced by humor and adventure. I love that each of these installments ends on a comfortable plot point instead of a disruptive cliffhanger. I already pre ordered the next one.

The book is really good, I’m not saying it’s not, but there just so much room for better. Maybe because I think Posy’s series was just so good, the writing was just amazing and the characters were chefs kiss. This book on the other hand is just not doing anything for me. I love this author and love her other series but this was just felt lacking to me.

fun read with a twist!

Really liked it and thought the ending was wonderful. The heat level was definitely appreciated & enjoyed as i read! Loved getting to know the fMC and mMCs a bit more and the clearing of some treats. Hopefully Foster isn’t killed off and is able to form a small pack with 3 pups and the other male wolf shifter he likes.

A rich, layered follow-up that deepens everyone we love
Where Shadows Rest is everything I wanted from a second book in this series. Mary Ann Weir does something special here — she doesn't just move the plot forward, she cracks open every character we thought we knew and shows us new layers.
Seri continues to grow into her power as a witch and as a woman claiming her own happiness, but what really got me were her three husbands. Each dhampir has such a distinct personality and way of loving her, and this book finally gives them room to breathe individually instead of just as a unit. Their overprotectiveness never feels flat — you understand exactly why each of them is wired that way, backstory and all.
The stepmother and stepsisters make fantastic antagonists too — not cartoonishly evil, but genuinely unsettling because you see their twisted logic play out.
If you loved book one, this is a must-read. The found-family bonds hit even harder here, and the "safe romance" promise holds true — no love triangles, no betrayal, just messy, devoted people fighting for each other.

In book 1, King Lucian is portrayed as the MMCs main tormentor during their childhood. I'd even go so far as to call him their abuser. From age 6 on. One of the main reasons the MMCs even take the marriage contract in the first place is because the king says they'll be free of him forever. They agreed to be married to a literal stranger that they thought might be a dark witch just to get away from their sperm donor.
Seri meets the dude and immediately is like "he wants a relationship with his boys, he regrets it... I support him!" Like, bitch. HE ABUSED THEM. FOR YEARS. YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE ON HIS SIDE.
And then the author spends all of book two trying to downplay the abuse. "He treated us as pawns instead of his sons." But it'll be contrasted by Zane remember Cas waking screaming from nightmares for multiple days after king Lucian last "helped' them with something. Wtf is going with that.
Oh and I did not need to read about the villains detailed sex scenes.

I struggled to get through the evil stepsisters’ POVs in the first book. Having to read about them banging legitimately almost made me DNF. Their characters are horrible and, while I understand that is the point, I didn’t want to picture them having sex.

I was also expecting more spice. There were MAYBE 4-6 spicy scenes in the entire book and 2 of those weren’t even the MCs. Definitely a let down.

Then Arabesque stole everything death had left behind until she gave that to death too. Seraphina was given to monsters for a year. Arabesque's daughters missed their chew toy and turned on each other. Amabel and Eluned both went after Seraphina. Only neither understood the monsters that Seraphina was given. Because once go end they didn't allow take-backsies. Don't enter a monsters den unless you know you are the bigger monster. Be careful though. Mother dearest does not tolerate having her tools being broken by anyone.... Except herself!

So I figured out why I couldn't give it 5 stars.

This is set in modern day. Meaning present day. However some of the language or wording makes it seem like it is in past tense. I mean like taking place when petticoats were a thing Several times they talk about Pulling up their skirt to do the deed. So that makes me feel like I am thinking of castles and moats and Just older times. And then they'll turn around and talk about ear pads or probably not ear pads earpods and then . . So the consistency of the era didn't make sense.

Other than that it would have been a 5 star if they could have shown some consistency in the era..


I absolutely loved loved loved loved the twins... what is a good word to use? Fate.

More Adventure, Less Romanace

If you enjoy Romantasy for the story/adventure, you’ll like this series. But if you’re expecting a super spicy reverse haram/why choose story line, you’ll need to find another series.

It has all the fantasy story bits you want, but the main character is slow to build/grow. She felt like a damsel in distress the entire first book, & she slowly grew into more of herself in this one.

It’s not my kind of series, not enough spice or character growth or adventure, it’s got danger but more on the cozy romance side in my opinion. But I do think Evermere would be a good introductory to the Romantasy genre & that’s who I’d recommend this for.

Slow and tired

Very little actually happens to further the plot, at least, not for the length of it. We get it, she's damaged, weak, healing yadda yadda yadda... But does it have to be so pedantic and boring? The dialogue is inane, the jokes are crap, I'm not sure if this is supposed to be a comedy but its not. The two interesting characters, Dad and the rogue, aren't main enough to save this. At least it's solid in the grammar department. I can't bother to finish the rest of the series, its too painful. When I catch myself flipping through pages and pages just skimming, hoping to get to.something interesting it's time to quit.

Repetitive

I tried so hard to like this series. The plot was a great idea but the execution was awful. The entire story was just repetitive reassurances to a girl. I couldn’t help but create a childlike voice for the girl in my head instead of a grown woman. Every single chapter from the first book into this one was the same thing over and over and over. Almost no action, no REAL character building and no world building. I found myself skipping through chapters waiting for something to happen other than the men treating the main female character like a child. Over and over and over again.

Love this story!

This book is entertaining, heartwarming and also has suspense and intrigue! So many characters and different types of relationships. I am enjoying Seri the most. As a reader of romantasy I am used to the strong, snarky, warrior women. Seri is also strong, but the innocence annd vulnerability she possesses is not what I’ve read before. She was abused and with the help of her mates she is building strength and confidence. Her mates adore her and she knows exactly how to manage them. This is a beautiful story of family and facing adversity together.

I’m really liking the storyline and her men, but she has such a childlike personality and demeanor. It’s giving me the ick, the child like nicknames and the way she talks and pouts I have nothing against an innocent fmc but this is too close to a child like demeanor for me

After the first book, I didn’t expect to spend so much time laughing when I read this book. There’s also plenty of intrigue. I like the characters and I’m invested in how the series will tie everything up.
This is the first series I’ve read by this author. I plan to read some of the other series written earlier in the timeline in this world.

I’ve completely fallen in love with all the characters in this series, especially with Zane. He is absolutely hilarious and I’ve loved reading the parts of this book that are written in his POV.
The storyline is moving a little faster in this book. I can’t wait to read what happens with the evil witch of a stepmother.
