ARC provided by Book lovers group.Where Hope Begins by Candee Fick is a heartfelt, faith-filled story about resilience, family, and learning to trust God even when life doesn’t go as planned. The book follows a woman navigating grief, unexpected change, and the challenge of starting over, all while trying to hold onto hope.

What stands out most is how real the emotions feel—loss, doubt, and fear are portrayed honestly, but without losing the thread of hope that runs through the story. The characters are relatable, especially if you’ve ever had to rebuild after something falls apart. The romance element is gentle and uplifting rather than overpowering, making it a nice balance with the deeper themes.

The pacing is steady, though at times it leans a bit predictable, especially if you read a lot of Christian fiction. Still, the message about faith and second chances is comforting and encouraging.

Overall, Where Hope Begins is a warm, uplifting read that reminds you healing takes time—but hope can grow in the most unexpected places.

Review copy received from book lovers ARC club.

Where Hope begins follows Joel who is trying to get away from the small town life but God has other plans bringing him back to the small town because the family business is struggling and his Dad has health issues as well as business problems Joel and Lauren the love interest work hard together for there future.

I really love the way that the characters keep fighting for what they want and how the author keeps the reader engaged in the story as I find it hard to put the book down.

The very religious book a lot about God and a lot of about self-worth I guess. The way the author uses quotes from the Bible to exact quotes shows just how much passion she has for the book and for her readers.

I really enjoyed this book. I think I’d give it about a 4 out of five stars as much as I enjoyed the book I’m not a very religious’s person but this has definitely opened my eyes too so many other things relating to religion as well as broadened my reading ability to other books like this.

This is my best read this year. I took it hook, line and sinker. Joel thought he knew what he wanted then Grace threw him a curve ball. When your past walks up to your present how will you react. Family emergency puts everything into perspective. A must read. Received a review copy from the BOOK LOVERS ARC club

Where Hope Begins is a book radiating with the potency of hope. Life is expansive when it is infused with hope. As Candee Fick is a new author for me, I was surprised how quickly I became attached to this contemporary fiction book. I believe the key to my quick attachment was the characters. The primary and secondary characters were so engaging, they reached out and filled the reader with hope, the kind of hope that resides in the hearts and lives of believers.

The center of this community is the diner, Dawson’s Diner and it truly is an awesome place, but at the beginning it seemed it would take a miracle to bring a happy ending to this diner family. Interestingly, the tension, drama, and copious crises were not off-putting, they worked to hone and refine each character. I also appreciate how all the characters worked as an ensemble. Yes, it is true, the main focus was on the lead characters, but the secondary characters were not just empty-headed cardboard cutouts. What impressed me about “When Hope Begins” is how the author made such an effective use of each crisis situation. Each new circumstance didn’t cause the characters to fall apart, instead it caused reflection, growth, creativity, and expanded the potentialities of the diner’s owners, staff, and community spirit. Individually the characters grew in their Christian walk.

Quotes That Showed the Characters Saw Their Job as Service:
• Lauren is told she has a gift. She asks, What gift? Greta says, “You have a way of getting to know people and making them feel welcome and cared for. That’s the heart of customer service.”
• Greta, “You’ll do fine around here as long as you remember that anyone can cook and sell meals. But if you don’t have love, you serve in vain. Just like Jesus said, whatever we do for the least of these, we’ve done for Him…”
• Lauren talks of success, “My Dad says it’s a financial number. But your Grandma—and even Greta—say it’s doing what God uniquely created you to do and helping others in the process. That’s when you deserve the ‘well done, good and faithful servant.’”
• My favorite quote happens when Joel asks Lauren about her ability to stay happy. “I do the best I can and leave a lot in God’s Hands for Him to Handle….Exhale the Troubles and Inhale His Power.”

This book was a treat, made sweeter by the plot surprises and I was blessed to read it. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I received an ARC eCopy from the author; a positive review was not required. All the opinions expressed in this review are my own.

Joel Dawson aims for the sky. He doesn't want to be confined in a small-town diner business like his parents. Their contentment in running the family business with minimal profit is beyond his comprehension. Joel wants to spread his wings in corporate world and leave the family business for good.

Life in a small town, Loveland is the whole world to Lauren Graham. She couldn't think of a life outside this small town like her sisters. She's confused in life, yet not without vision. She finds hope in serving her community through her job at Dawson's diner.

The novel revolves around their love and struggles through an inspiring plot. Joel learns the true essence and purpose of life through Lauren. Lauren, on the other hand, has to learn to trust God and Joel with her heart. Although she struggles with her own battles, interestingly she finds answers to her life's questions while helping Joel.

The novel's inspiring characters weave a beautiful story of love, courage, hope, family bonding, sacrifice and community spirit. The characters are ordinary people living with values, caring for others amid their own struggles.

I liked the character of Lauren Graham and Greta. Lauren's patience and trust in God are inspiring. Greta's love for her brother's family is heart warming. She takes Lauren under her wings and treats her as her own. Greta's old-school values and kindness makes her an unique character.

The writing is easy to read and quotable in key moments. I savored many lines including the following ones.

1. “It all depends on what you consider success. My dad says it’s a financial number. But your grandma—and even Greta—say it’s doing what God uniquely created you to do and helping others in the process. That’s when you deserve the ‘well done, good and faithful servant’ reward in heaven.”

2. "Her voice grew wistful. “On one hand, God says, ‘Be still, and know that I am God’ while on the other hand, we tend to stay busy doing all the things on our to-do list and trying to get ahead. But if true success is living out the way God created us, it makes sense to keep connected to the real boss so we know what He wants us to do.”

In short, Where Hope Begins is a heartwarming tale of new beginnings, faith, and love, showing that even in tough times there's hope. The novel's emphasis on trusting God's plans is a reminder that God's ways are always better than ours. It's recommended for readers who enjoy romance with an inspirational storyline.

⭐⭐⭐⭐½ A Cozy, Hope-Filled Story in Loveland
ARC Review – Where Hope Begins by Candee Fick (2025)

I received a free review copy from the Book Lovers ARC Club.

I was drawn in right away to this quiet, heartfelt story following Joel Dawson in Loveland. Joel starts off as a business-savvy newer graduate, fresh out of business school, returning to his hometown to help at his family’s café. His plan? Stay just long enough to fix things, then leave quickly for a big-city corporation. At first, he’s a serious grump who thinks everything he learned in school is the answer. But he soon discovers that textbook strategy isn’t what truly runs a local diner.

Along the way, early challenges thrust Joel into a deeper role at the café—and he learns that the small-town waitress Lauren is far more important to the diner (and to him) than he ever realized.

I loved the cozy feel of this book. I could almost smell the pies Aunt Greta bakes, and reading about Trevor’s lasagna and other comfort foods had me drooling as I turned the pages!

Fick’s writing style is warm, intimate, and emotionally precise. Her dialogue feels lifted from real life—sometimes funny, sometimes cutting, always true. The pacing is deliberate but never slow; quiet moments in the café (where the smell of coffee and fresh baked goods almost leaps off the page) sit alongside raw, heart-pounding confrontations.

Loveland feels lived-in and authentic: a place where everyone knows your business, the local café is the town’s emotional hub, and every corner holds a special memory.

What stood out most to me is the way hope is portrayed as a choice you make even when you’re terrified of ruining everything. This story leaves you gentler, more hopeful, and eager to believe that hope can be found through Him when you pray along the way.

Rating: 4½ stars (a solid 5 for readers who love cozy, character-driven inspirational romance with heart, humor, and a little bit of heaven-sent second chances).

Will I read more? Absolutely. I’m already looking forward to Book 2 in The Cafe on Hope and Main—Candee Fick has earned a lifelong fan.

Wow! What a tough, faith-based small town romance! A tough read that will humble you down and still show glimpses of new hope along the way.

The story features the life of a duo, Joel Dawson and Lauren Graham. With his MBA degree, Joel’s plan is simply to get a successful corporate job, far away from his parents and the family-owned diner business. But what can he do when life does not go easy on him?

While waiting for the job he wants, Joel comes back to town to help run his parents’ business. From there, problems just keep piling up endlessly.

And in such a hard time figuring out her passion, Lauren finds herself feeling so content when it comes to taking care of orders, serving good food, and chatting with customers. While skipping college classes, she spends her time working at the diner. Which also means seeing Joel every day, dealing with his superior attitude, and all the problems that slowly cause the business to collapse. Will she actually make it, while also fighting her own battle?

This book is such a fast-paced story, with dining scenes and business talks dominating most of the chapters. Problems with the business management fall one after another, escalating without a pause. There are always more obstacles coming right after one gets solved. These ongoing business issues might feel overwhelming for some readers, as they are presented with very little space to breathe. Not a bad thing at all, but if you expect to cool down after a row of big conflict before moving to the next, this continuous escalation is something to be aware of.

Aside from her strong dedication to customer service, I think Lauren’s brain is the best. I love her marketing ideas to make bigger profit. Despite her giggles and slightly immature personality, she honestly delivers a creative marketing master class!

Joel and Lauren’s romantic relationship unfolds so gently and naturally. It never feels awkward, even with all the business tension around them. Other things that amaze me are the family bond and teamwork in the diner, the sincere community service, and the religious quotable lines that appear here and there in the dialogues. This book earns my 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Joel is back home after college to help his family sort things out at the family diner before seeking a 'proper' job - temporarily back, because he has his sights set on much bigger and better things. When his dad collapses with a suspected heart attack during Joel's first day at the diner, he's thrown in at the deep end - and it's deeper than he had any idea of. If Lauren wasn't already over her childhood crush on Joel, his superior attitude would be more than enough to put her off. Really. But as they're forced to work together to try to save the diner she loves and he reluctantly views as the family legacy, his attitudes gradually change and something more grows between them. But will it be enough to face the problems ahead of them?

I have to admit that it took me a while to warm up to Joel, but Lauren grabbed me from the start. While I could never do her job of looking after people all day every day, I loved the attitude of service and trying to show everyone God by her actions - a personal ministry. It's inspiring and a great reminder of what our lives as Christians should be like. Both Joel and Lauren have some baggage to work through, and outside influences also mean the journey isn't easy, but it's an enjoyable journey and a satisfying ending. Looking forward to seeing more of the diner in the rest of the series - some characters I'm eager to see get their own stories. All in all, a good read - recommended.

Christian fiction at it's finest.

Joel’s life and plans are going through drastic changes due to an incident in his family’s diner. Will God’s grace be sufficient for the changes? Lauren’s life is also going through changes as she frequently changes her college major. Nothing in the college classes interests her. She has been working in the diner from her high school days and always enjoyed both the work and the clientele.

This lovely Christian romance is very enjoyable with great character, an interesting story, and very good Christian elements. Prayer and scripture references help them make it through a tough situation and when deciding to do what God wants you to do. One theme: Christians should not be above serving others. No job is too menial if it serves – as unto Jesus.

Favorite quotes:
“But if true success is living out the way God created us, it makes sense to keep connected to the real boss so we know what He wants us to do.”
“I once heart someone say that prayer is like breathing. Exhale the troubles and inhale his power.”

“…whatever she did for even the grungiest or grumpiest of their customers, she did for God.”
“He had no other choice but to trust God to work out the details one step at a time.”

Received a review copy from the BOOK LOVERS ARC club.

Where Hope Begins is a heartfelt, cozy, and inspiring story that weaves together love, faith, and purpose. At its core, it’s about seeking God’s will, serving others, and discovering the power of prayer and hope.

Joel and Lauren are brought together through Dawson’s Diner—Joel’s family business—where Lauren works as a waitress. When Joel’s father experiences a medical emergency, Joel steps in to run the diner, and what follows is a journey filled with challenges, growth, and unexpected connection. As they work to keep the diner alive, their relationship deepens, and love begins to bloom.

The diner itself becomes more than just a setting—it’s a symbol of community, service, faith, and hope. While the storyline follows a fairly predictable Christian romance arc, it’s still uplifting and comforting in the best way.

I enjoyed the characters and the overall message, though some plot moments felt only mildly engaging. The twist at the end was a nice added touch but the additional late twist involving a family heirloom was underwhelming and didn’t quite land with the same emotional impact as the rest of the story.

Overall, this is a warm and encouraging read. If you enjoy Christian fiction—or are simply looking for a sweet, uplifting story—I’d recommend giving it a try.

Note: I received this ARC by the Book Lovers ARC group. Overall, this was a cute Christian-faith romance that focused on themes of family, love, and understanding that sometimes it’s best to trust in God when things may not go as you’d think. And although it’s Christian fiction, I didn’t feel like it was very in your face about being faith-based. It was more general in the language.

This book started off quite slow, as the first few chapters went on and on specifically about the diner and working in the diner. It quickly picked up, however, when Joel’s father unexpectedly had a heart attack in the middle of their family restaurant service one day. And soon after, a budding romance started to develop between Joel and one of the waitresses, Lauren. I enjoyed the change in point of view between Joel and Lauren, to get a better picture of what each of them felt and thought. I really appreciated how organic their chemistry was, and how much they genuinely cared for each other. This showed further than in just a romantic way, as they helped each other with the struggle of managing the restaurant in Joel’s father’s sudden absence.

Overall, I’d give this book 3 stars. It had a slow start, but overall was a cute and wholesome romance, with some predictable moments sprinkled in. This book was not spicy.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and I enjoyed it! It is the first book in the Café on Hope and Main series. This realistic, faith-based book portrays a story of trusting God when life doesn’t go as planned.
Joel Dawson has returned to Loveland, CO to work at his parents’ diner, while he pursues a better, high-paying job, after receiving his MBA. He is determined to give up small town ways of thinking and work for a big corporation.
Lauren Graham is a hard worker at Dawson’s diner and everything she does is for God. She had a crush on Joel in high school. She has a way of getting to know people and making them feel welcome. However, her father has expectations of her that she keeps failing to meet, so she has low self-esteem.
When Joel’s father has a medical emergency, the struggling diner is in Joel’s hands. This forces him to realize there is much he doesn’t know, but Lauren is by his side supporting him. As they work to solve financial problems, Joel and Lauren, along with their parents, her father, and the diner family comes to see a lot of things differently.
This is a heartwarming story that shows that perseverance, looking at things from many perspectives and working together can make a difference and that is when hope really begins. I look forward to reading the second book in the series!

I devoured this book, and went back to reread some parts (thank God, I am a fast reader), This story will touch your heart in many ways. The plot is beautiful, the characters are so relatable and approachable - you will feel like you know them well by the end of the book-, the diner is the perfect setting to bring drama, faith and love together, Joel is the golden boy who wanted to make a name for himself away from the small town, after getting his MBA he is back helping in his parents diner, they need the help with the business. LAuren is one of the servers at the diner, a bit younger than Joel who is trying to find her call in life, but finds the diner and Joel a siren call every time. As tragedy strikes the family and the diner, Joel will be forced to rely on Lauren as companionship, a partner of sorts. HE will start to see the true value of the diner through her eyes, while she sees her dreams coming to focus through his constant presence. As they get closer, and see a future, the bills make them see that they need more than each other to make it through, This is a great story of resilience, of learning to rely on God and faith for help, of learning to be bold in your decisions, it is about family, true love, and willingness to be there even when hope seems grim.

I thoroughly enjoyed this sweet small-town romance by Candee Fick. I have read other books by this author and was delighted that she had a new book for me to read. The characters were so engaging. I felt that I had gained a bunch of new friends. I was absorbed into their story and looked forward to a satisfying solution to the problems experienced at the local diner and a happily-ever-after for the romance. Fick did not disappoint on either. The banter and the caring, and many of the secondary characters added to the charm of this new story. I hope that she has future novels coming in this series.

Where Hope Begins by Candee Fick was a bit of a mixed read for me. It’s definitely a slow burn — I really enjoyed the start and had moments throughout where I was quite into it, but there were also parts that felt a bit dull and dragged on longer than I would’ve liked.
Just a heads up, there’s quite a bit of prayer and references to God woven into the story, so that’s something to keep in mind depending on whether that’s your thing or not.
The story follows Joel, who heads back to his family diner thinking it’ll just be a short visit, but ends up staying to run it after his dad has a heart attack. While he’s there, he reconnects with Lauren, who works at the diner and is also his cousin’s best friend. Their relationship builds very slowly, with plenty of ups and downs along the way.
I did like the characters — they were easy to warm to — and the whole story had a really cosy feel to it. For me though, it just didn’t quite have enough happening to keep me fully hooked the whole time.
That said, if you enjoy clean, cosy romances that take their time, this could be right up your alley.

Such a great, hopeful, and faith filled story! I felt connected to the characters and the diner from the beginning of the book. I want to go there and get some of Greta's pie! The food at the diner sounded delicious, except for the meatloaf 😉. Meatloaf is a small topic discussed in the book.

I liked how the main characters' romance progressed through the story and that first date!! That's a first date never to be forgotten! No spoliers!

This story is a contemporary, Christian fiction set in Colorado during winter. The diner is such a great place for the community. Good food, great service. Everyone knows everyone. The staff all love the diner and are so helpful during the tough times they are going through after Joel's dad has a heart attack. I enjoyed learning about all the ins and outs of running a diner... something you don't think about when you go out to eat. I liked how they shared Scripture and prayed about things.

Highly recommend! If you like Becky Wade, you'll like this author.

This is a heartfelt small-town romance that blends faith, family, and second chances into a comforting, character-driven story. When Joel Dawson is forced to put his corporate ambitions on hold to save his family’s café, the narrative shifts from big-city dreams to the quieter but no less challenging work of preserving legacy and community.
Joel and Lauren’s relationship unfolds with a gentle realism. Their struggles feel grounded, balancing family expectations, personal faith, and the fear of letting someone see past carefully built defenses. Lauren’s journey, in particular, stands out as she navigates people-pleasing habits and learns where her own needs fit into the picture.
The café itself becomes more than a setting; it’s a symbol of hope, tradition, and the love passed down through generations. The stakes are emotional as much as financial, and the story handles both with warmth and sincerity.
Fans of faith-based romance will appreciate the wholesome tone, slow-burn connection, and emphasis on trust and growth. Café on Hope and Main is a charming start to a series that celebrates love, purpose, and the courage it takes to choose a different path.

Life Has Its Setbacks...

This is much more than a small town romance with the MFC having carried a crush on her best friend’s brother. Yes, it’s true that Lauren Graham has liked Joel Dawson for years and their roles in this story not only is interesting but realistic. However, the storyline goes much deeper than a crush. It’s about family, both the good and bad, its about circumstances uprooting desires and plans, it’s about conflicts, teamwork, attitudes and having to make hard choices … and it’s about FAITH.

Real life has a way of changing things and you definitely see that in this book. The characters have to face and confront many challenges such as life and death, career plans being questioned, challenged, and/or rerouted… real life problems that have to be overcome. Last but not least, it’s about finding oneself… the person who the Creator saw before He created the universe… For he chose us in him, before the foundation of the world, to be holy and blameless in love before him. Ephesians 1:4 (CSB).

Where Hope Begins was a light and easy read, that I needed. My favorite read thus far this year.

Following Joel’s graduation, he has moved home to help his parents with their family diner, while he is looking for his dream, high-paying job. But is he looking in the wrong places? A medical emergency from the beginning causes him to put his MBA to use differently than ever expected.

Meanwhile, the diner’s waitress, Lauren, is doing everything she can to help her former crush keep the diner afloat while the owners are out. This diner is very important in the small town and the regulars continue to stop by. Her creativity is a lot of fun in this book.

Throughout the few months this book covers, Joel, Lauren, and the others in the book rely on their faith to make their business and personal decisions. Asking God to help them was always first!

This book is a must read for a quick cozy read with no violence or language. I recommend this book to everyone. I’m already looking forward to reading Candee’s next book in the series.

'Where Hope Begins', it begins in Dawson's Diner on Hope and Main in book 1 of a new series by Candee Fick.
Having finished his M.B.A Joel Dawson returns home to give a hand in his parents' diner, he would rather be anywhere else as this was not his plan, but sometimes we are in the wrong place at the right time for a reason and so it is with Joel when his father really needs him he is right there.
Lauren has her own problems, she's trying to get through her course work, find time for class and her waitressing job in the diner. Her father disapproves of her choices and she feels pressured to please him. Then there's Joel who she has fancied since she was a teenager but he doesn't see her as anything but a coworker in the Diner.
But that's about to change when circumstances beyond their control make them re-evaluate what matters most in their lives. It's my first time reading this author and I enjoyed the book so it won't be my last.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5

I was excited to receive an advanced copy of this book for review because I have enjoyed several of this author’s previous contemporary romances. I love that she isn’t afraid of a solid faith arc and her romances are very sweet and satisfying. But I’ll admit that this book didn’t hit all of those notes for me. The characters were relatable and the diner in which the book is set was fun. I felt like there wasn’t enough conflict, or that the conflicts were simply misunderstandings that could have been fixed with a conversation. The romance wasn’t as slow-burn as I like and I thought there was a little too much business talk regarding the diner. This was the first book in a series, so I grant that some of my issues were probably just because there has to be a little setup for what’s coming and possibly even that this wasn’t the right book for me in my current reading mood. All that being said, if you like small-town, faith-filled romance give this one–or some of her other books a try.

I LOVED this book. I was completely swooning over Joel and Lauren’s relationship from start to finish.

This story had such a beautiful blend of themes—found family, teamwork, unwavering support, and keeping faith at the center of it all. It felt so full and well-rounded, with a perfect mix of sweet moments, great banter, real-life hardship, humor, and truly swoon-worthy scenes.

I especially loved how the story handled relationships across the board—not just the romance. Seeing past relationships repaired and strengthened added so much depth and heart to the overall story. And Joel’s character development really stood out to me. Watching him come to terms with what truly matters in life made his journey feel meaningful and grounded.

This was one of those books I couldn’t read fast enough because I needed to know what happened next—but at the same time, I didn’t want it to end. It completely pulled me in.

I absolutely recommend this one. It’s heartfelt, uplifting, and full of love in all its forms.

This is a clean Christian romance.

Joel finishes school and while looking for a corporate job, he helps out working at his parents restaurant. He is a bot resentful about it. However, when his dad has a heart attack, he takes over the restaurant. It is a family owned restaurant. Lauren is one of the waitresses and has been there for awhile. She has issues with her father as she is not comfortable in college. She keeps switching majors. They work together with the rest of the staff at the restaurant. Can they all work together to keep the restaurant afloat? By having faith, can it happen? As they get closer, will it work?

It was an interesting story. I liked that the characters pray about solutions. I also appreciate that the community gets involved with helping. Sometimes when one door closes a window opens. This book definitely shows that.

What a delightful book, had me hooked from the start.
A young man returns home to the family diner, loaded with his brand new business degree and ideas of managing his very own chain of businesses, to help sort out the business accounts. When his father suffers a heart attack, he finds himself in charge of running the business, and realises that he knows ‘nothing’. No amount of book learning can prepare him for running a real life business, working with and serving real people.
Add to this the charming waitress who he had a long distance ‘crush’ on years ago who must teach him the ropes, and you have a very interesting and lovable story.
Enjoyed it immensely and will be looking for other books by this author.
Highly recommended for just about anyone.

**Received a Review Copy from the Book Lovers ARC Club**

It's been a while since I've read a faith-based fiction book, and I'm so glad that I got to read this one! I enjoyed the plot and the characters so much. It was nice to see how all the characters interacted with one another and how Joel and Lauren's relationship unfolded.

The problems the characters faced were very realistic, in my point of view, and I loved seeing how they leaned on their faith to pull through the difficulties. It also felt very relatable to see how the characters had to keep reminding themselves and each other that they needed God's help and couldn't do everything on their own merit since that's something people who believe in God need constant reminders about in their daily lives.

I 100% recommend this book to anyone who enjoys faith-based stories.

This book was a great start to the series, and I hope to read the next book when it comes out!

This book read like a cozy, small town Hallmark movie with likeable characters and a charming setting.

Joel - the big city guy who comes home with his fancy business degree - helps to run his parents diner and learns that there's a lot he can learn using his business skills in such a hands-on way.

Lauren - the small town girl who hasn't quite decided what she wants to be when she grows up - loves working in the diner and making each customer feel special and seen. They have a bit of a past that is woven into their sweet story of finding love and learning to support each other.

I enjoyed spending my time at the diner in this small town and meeting the cast of characters that made this story a joy to read. It's the perfect cozy small-town romance and I can't wait to read more in the series!

Where Hope Begins is a heartfelt, faith-centered story about family, responsibility, and learning to trust when life doesn’t go as planned. I really enjoyed watching Joel step into a role he never expected after returning home with his MBA and being forced to keep the family diner running. The story does a great job showing how overwhelming that responsibility can be, especially with his father’s health issues and the pressure to make everything work.

The relationships were the strongest part of the book for me. Seeing Joel grow closer to Lauren and work alongside Greta and Trevor made the story feel warm and genuine. I loved the message about teamwork, listening to others, and understanding that success isn’t just about business knowledge but heart as well.

Saving a family legacy
Lauren loves working at Dawson’s Diner and is only attending college part-time to satisfy her high-achieving family.
Joel Dawson, recently graduated with an MBA, resents having to help at the diner and only agrees to do so while waiting for replies to the resumés he has sent to various corporate companies... until he is suddenly forced to take full charge and discovers why his father asked for his assistance.
This is a sweet story of a ‘found family’ uniting to make the best of a difficult situation. The fluent writing style and interesting plot featuring the operations of a popular small-town diner, together with relatable characters who demonstrate authentic emotions, keep the reader fully involved in this novel.

I loved this contemporary story of a recent college grad and a struggling student waitress who put their personal lives on hold when Joel's father and the owner of the local diner suffers a heart attack. Lauren is a waitress at the diner while attending college to please her successful corporate father but she keeps missing classes to work extra at the diner to help Joel out. You will love all of the workers at the diner who pitch in to keep the diner running while the owner and his wife are at the hospital. I loved the atmosphere of care and love from all of the customers but wondered what would happen when Lauren's father found out! I recommend Where Hope Begins to others. I received a complimentary 3-book from the author. This is my honest opinion.
