Simon Eyre is a company director and author of the Daniel Sawyer series, including Getting Away With It and The Deadly Embrace.
He lives with his wife near the Suffolk coast. His love for writing began at ten years old when his Middle School English teacher took him and other students to see Macbeth at a suburban theatre near Sheffield. After a career in the telecoms and computing industries that spanned over thirty successful years, he finally took a “sabbatical” to focus on fulfilling a dream - to publish his first novel. After almost three years of hard work, he has successfully published his debut.
He targets his stories at readers like himself, men aged 18-100, but also strives to make his books accessible and enjoyable to a broader spectrum of readers. Hence, he tries to include elements such as strong leading female characters who are pivotal to the story, rather than secondary to the male hero.
He has lived and worked around the world, including Bangladesh, Malaysia, Italy, USA and Europe and has also travelled extensively for pleasure. He tries to use his experiences in his stories, taking the reader on a global adventure as they navigate the story.
When he’s not writing, Simon is obsessed with military history and, in particular, the human element of war, such as how ordinary people are impacted and react to difficult and perplexing situations. He also loves travel and has an established, popular travel blog website called Reluctant Backpacker. To relax, he "enjoys" nothing more than watching his favourite football team, Sheffield United. He also likes to hike.
Simon is already working on book number two in the Daniel Sawyer trilogy titled Deadly Embrace.
