This is hard sci-fi with teeth but also with heart.
The apocalyptic setting is brutal, yet the real strength of the story lies in Alex. Though transformed into one of the Chosen, he isn’t lost. His memories of his family ground the narrative and make every mission personal.
The blackouts add tension, the action scenes are tight and engaging, and the military atmosphere feels authentic. Profanity is present but natural to the setting, and the violence supports the story without becoming gratuitous.
A quick read with a strong blend of action, identity struggle, and humanity fighting back from the brink.
