Watching Them

Rate this book
Kevin Wyburn is a charming and successful real estate agent in suburban Ohio — and an obsessive voyeur who has turned his rental properties into a private surveillance empire. Hidden cameras disguised as smoke detectors and thermostats give him full access to the most vulnerable and intimate moments of his tenants’ lives. For decades, he’s honed the art of watching from the shadows, convinced his brilliant deception will keep him safe forever… until someone finally notices. When a tenant discovers the truth, panic pushes Kevin into an unthinkable act — and a killer is born.

Detectives Jason Hager and Sean Camp are seasoned investigators accustomed to violence, but nothing prepares them for a new case involving a tortured body dumped at an abandoned mall. As they follow a trail of secrets, technology, and terror, their search leads them closer to a predator hiding in plain sight — a man whose respectable façade masks a growing appetite for control. Every second they lose, Kevin grows bolder… and someone else is being watched.

This book was written by a local Ohio author, Marc McNulty. Watching Them was a gripping read. It pulls you in right away and keeps the tension going the whole time. The characters feel real, and the unsettling atmosphere makes it hard to put the book down. I especially liked how the story slowly builds suspense without feeling rushed. It’s one of those books that sticks with you after you finish. If you’re into psychological suspense or creepy, page‑turning stories, this one’s definitely worth checking out.
