The Tiny Star is a story about a star who was smaller an dimmer than the other stars around it. It becomes forlorn and begins to fall from the sky where it ends up falling in Jesus' manger. After the star sees Jesus, it begins to grow brighter and float back up into the sky where it becomes the Star of Bethlehem. I think the only time I would read this book would be during the holidays when maybe the discussing of different celebrations come up. I know in my placements I've had students who celebrate Hanukkah rather than Christmas, so this book could be used to talk about how Christmas came to be which could lead into reading other books about different religions celebrated during the winter holidays. Students of different religion could share and tell the class about what they do to celebrate the holidays with their families. This would be a good way to build community within the classroom and have students open up with one another.
What a wonderful and memorable Christmas story about the star that not only gave light and warmth to the baby Jesus but guided wise men to him. It has a great secondary meaning too about how you can accomplish great things when you are small minded bread this onto- and three-year olds and they loved it. Highly recommend for young children learning the real meaning of Christmas.
This is one of my kids' favorites. This is a story about Starlet, who is the tiniest star in the night sky, and is very sad that no one can see her. She keeps shining night after night, hoping that "some day, someone" will see her. Then one night . . . you'll have to read the book to find out. :)
It's a very sweet little story, perfect for Christmas. My kids always point out Starlet in the night sky after reading this one many, many times.
This is a story that is set at the nativity. A beautiful story which showed a sweet example, using a star, of how the savior Jesus Christ helps us become better and shine brighter. A sweet Christmas story to read with the kids.
