A light, quick read

Stranded at Incheon Airport by a massive thunderstorm on her way back from Busan, Han Jae-eun meets Kang Min-gyu, who happens to be the director of the airport hotel. He is able to book her into the only suite not already occupied by other stranded passengers and must share the suite, since even he can’t get a second room. They end up sharing the bed, and Jae-eun becomes pregnant as a result. She decides to keep the baby but doesn’t know how she will tell Min-gyu, a virtual stranger. Fate intervenes, however, and the two end up realizing that they have fallen in love, even before Min-gyu learns about the baby. I had some quibbles, but this is basically a Cinderella-like fairy tale with a chaebol heir in the prince’s role. From my years of immersion in K-dramas, I know that there are tons of obstacles to such a match, but, again, this is a fairy tale. It’s a pleasant if slight read, and I will read more by this author.

Wait. WHAT?

I’m only a chapter into this book and it’s already unbelievable. Please, do your research, if you don’t know something, don’t guess on MAJOR story line plots. You CANNOT feel like you got a cramp, HOURS after having unprotected sex, by a LEAP of the imagination think, “I might be pregnant!”, go get a drugstore test and it comes back positive. It takes 6 to 12 DAYS or more to get the hormonal cue for pregnancy, NO one gets a ‘hunch’ like that! You have to let the story pace itself out, it needs to be a couple of months minimum, some morning sickness, feeling full, tender hoo-hahs…a comment from a trusted friend that something is off. It doesn’t happen like that, EVER. Just please, do your diligent research, take your time writing and develop the story. Any man you told that to in 24 hours would laugh and think you needed mental evaluation.

Honestly

I honestly felt like it was a sample of an idea for a book. Nothing about it was complete. If it was written by ai then I get why it’s lacking. But if it’s truly written by a person it needs work. The characters were believable but even they needed development. I do want to encourage the author to keep writing and working on developing a complete story.
