For years, Sydney tamped down her anger and swallowed her rage. She played the part of the perfect girl. Calm. Behaved. That was before she met Alec, Ashton, Sebastian, and Viper—four mafia men who irrevocably changed her life by setting her free.

But one dark secret was enough to drive them apart. Now, Sydney must untangle her complicated feelings for these men and their dangerous world, while learning to embrace the monster they’ve unleashed inside of her.

Yet another absolute BANGER by Evelyn Ward. Even darker and sexier than book one.

We get more background on the 4 men, learning a little bit more about them, especially Viper and Sebastian (enter heart eyes emoji here) and we get spicy scenes with each guy finally! While not full home base with all 4 yet, it is an amazing build up and I NEED the next book like I need air 😮‍💨🤝

I love diving deeper into the friendship between Sydney and her best friend, Jade, AND WE ALSO GET A CAT NOW I loved it.

The miscommunication trope goes wild in this one, between multiple characters, so please understand you’ll be yelling at the walls this whole book if you hate that trope. But it makes it all the better when things start to even out.

Overall,

The whole book felt like a drawn out lovers quarrel that could have been easily avoided. I’m still invested, especially standing at the edge of this perilous cliff, but am undeniably unsatisfied after that book.

Thank you to Evelyn Ward for an advanced copy of this book, all opinions and thoughts are my own!

I absolutely DEVOURED the second installment of the Fourtune City Mafia series. Sydney and Jade are friendship goals and the complex relationships Sydney has with her men are explored even more deeply. We see her continue her independence and really growing into her own. The men were chef’s kiss as always and I loved seeing them squirm. We get more glimpses into her relationships with Seb and Viper which was such a treat. The cliffy the book ends on had me on the edge of my seat and has me salivating for book three!

Ok, so here we gooooooo.....This would have been higher [it was seriously close] but I felt like this book didnt quite live up to book #1 and I was expecting it to surpass it. Now, thats not to say this wasnt a good book, it was and maybe its unfair to pit it against book #1 but this is my page and my review sooo i'll do as I please 🙃

Girl gang is still top notch, Jade and Sydney are ride-or-die and their chats make the book which is absolutely needed as the relationships between Sydney and the men get explored further. I would also like to point out, that the miscommunication trope was alive and well in this book. Which since you all know is my absolute favorite trope 😒 *insert sarcasm here* i was absolutely climbing the walls over here. Here is to hoping the next book goes further with the guys, but relies less heavily on my *favorite* trope.

Book #3 now please!!!

Review of an advance copy from an author:

OMG this book! I had the hardest time putting it down to complete my actual work. I loved it. The emotional rollercoaster I was just taken on, and that epilogue? Chef's kiss. I cannot wait for book three to come out.

All I can say is "Line Sydney."

I pre-ordered book 2 on my Kindle this morning. These are just my feelings, so don't be offended. I was super excited after book 1, but honestly, I'm a bit disappointed. The first 60% of the book felt like it dragged on and wasn't that interesting. Finally, when Sydney and the guy's start to understand each other, things pick up after that 60%. I guess I won't be eagerly waiting for book 3 but I will still read to see how this massive slow burn will end and how the plot resolved around people from the past.

This book pissed me off so bad. Sydney was so annoying.

First off she kept telling Alec and Ash she didn’t want to talk to them because they lied yet she was doing that to Jade her best friend like the hypocrisy. Also she got cheated on with Chase yet she did that to the guy. She went on a date with like what are we doing viper and Sebastian never did anything wrong if anything Sebastian told you the truth point blank

Second of all the miscommunication in this book was horrible. It was the entire book and she’s like I need space I need space you wouldn’t even let them explain themselves. I can understand space so you can think it over. You had nothing to think over because you wouldn’t let them explain.

And lastly, not her stringing along Sebastian like that. He did nothing wrong actually he thought he did something wrong but because she didn’t communicate well she just let him think that he harassed her and then later they have a “phone call.” And she hangs up because “she has all the power.” like girl please either distant yourself completely from them or get back together make up your mind. The toying with them is honestly just cruel.

Some end thoughts I love the first book. It was so good, but Sydney is one of the worst fmc. The book had great characters. I feel like Jade should’ve called Sydney‘s behavior out if you’re a true friend, don’t endorse crappy behavior. I definitely recommend reading it. The ending was good. It’s just I was at 60% complete wanting to DNF the book. The writing is great. The male main characters are great side characters are great plot’s amazing. It’s just all of the in-between that really left me completely annoyed and wanting to drop this book off a building. ⭐️⭐️

Plot: 5/5 • Spice: 5/5 ———> I’m so annoyed that it took till 50% through this to realize this is in fact NOT a duet like I thought it was. There’s more after this book. I’m not sure why my brain thought this was a duet, but now i’m left hanging.

Little Sydney is quite the drama queen. I understand she has every right to be, but at the same time she could have taken 5 damn minutes to hear ANYONE out. All the guys blamed each other, minus Viper.

She still hasn’t slept with Ash, but the rest of them have fulfilled their fantasies of her. We meet the infamous wife of Alec in this one. She seems like a delight. 🔪🔪

This ends on a cliffy. I’m glad Sydney catches on that
something is wrong with Jade after she doesn’t say their usually “i love you”. Their shop has burnt down along with everything to Sydney’s name. And that’s it. That’s the end. 😡😡😡 how long is it till book 3???

This book had everything I should have loved: morally gray men, multiple POVs, tension, spice, and high-stakes danger. And yet… it fell completely flat for me.

The biggest issue? The heroine.

We’re told she’s strong, independent, filled with rage — but her actions and internal monologues say otherwise. Her thoughts loop endlessly without growth or evolution. The same doubts. The same assumptions. The same circular reasoning. Over and over. Instead of development, we get repetition.

It’s exhausting to be told how powerful a character is while watching her ignore obvious danger, jump to conclusions, avoid honest conversations, and contradict her own “independence” every other chapter.

The saving grace? The men.

Sebastian’s controlled, strategic POVs were the highlight. Ash remains the emotional core — morally grounded, protective, and genuinely compelling. Even Viper’s limited chaos added texture. Their internal chapters carried the entire book.

Unfortunately, every time the narrative returned to the heroine’s repetitive inner monologue, the momentum stalled.

I wanted growth. I wanted evolution. Instead, I got the same internal spiral on repeat.

I stayed for the men and the vibes — but the inconsistency capped this at 2 stars.

4.5⭐️ rounded ⬆️

Dangerous Thoughts is coming February 14th and it’s absolutely for the Seb & Viper lovers 🖤

Sebastian shines as my favorite of the 4 MMCs in this installment and it made for such a great read!! Alec and Ash…. they may have been the source of many frustrated highlights/notes, but it was a conflict that lead to Sydney standing her ground and setting boundaries that were so needed after the events of book 1 (you’ll have to read to see who followed those like a good boy 👀)

I enjoyed the new characters introduced and there were so many conversations Sydney had with Jade & Justin that had me yelling “yeah!!!!!” I love how relatable the Evelyn’s make the inside of these platonic friendships. It’s a relief between all the danger she’s entangled in to read about her and Jade getting drinks and trying new crafts together, which led to me laughing right along with them.

All that aside, this is a dark mafia romance and we’re definitely getting higher stakes in book 2! The spice is *chefs kiss* amazing. Don’t skip the trigger warnings before diving in to make sure you’ll vibe with the book! This was a fast read just like Dangerous Men and I cannot wait to eat up the third book after another killer cliffhanger!

**Thank you to the authors for the eARC of Dangerous Thoughts in exchange for my honest review**

Wow. I have little words for this. I went in with high expectations and honestly expected at least a little dissapointment, because after that first book, how could it ever get better? But I don't think I will ever doubt Evelyn Ward again because that was so much better than the last one. I rated the last one five stars, but if there was an option to rate this one higher, I would do it. There was nothing about this book I could say I didn't like, even though I love finding reasons to hate the men in books. And don't doubt that Ashton and Alec didn't make me question my love for them in this book, but character development made it better by the end. I would say I can't tell you if the previous book's cliff hanger was better or this one, but I can. This one was SO MUCH better. The stakes just got higher, and I hate Evelyn Ward for making me wait months, or maybe even an year or two, for the next book. Their writing is one of my favorite from all the dark romance I have read, which isn't a big selection of authors bur still. It's easy to read but not too simplistic, and I love the way they show friendship, both of the boys and Jade and Sydney. I wish I had someone like Jade in my life😭 Also, thank you Evelyn Ward for the ARC of this amazing book❤️

I RECEIVED THIS BOOK AS AN ARC.

This is my honest review. I was not compensated for this.

I think there may be some spoilers so proceed with caution.

My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
My 🌶️ rating; 2.5

I read “dangerous men” (also as an ARC) and couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book. Unfortunately, I have to say that I’m disappointed.

The action that was happening wasn’t grabbing me. The plot was stagnant. I felt like really not a whole lot happened. I was expecting to find out why the guys ended up in orphanage and how they bonded. There was a skimming of some but not all of their stories. We still don’t know how they became close. We don’t know what happened between them and Dante, or them and Annika.

The spice was also on a very mild side and slightly repetitive. There was no “more than 2 ppl action”. There were no ⚔️ which for some reason I thought there would be from how the first book went. I was disappointed in that too.

Overall I felt that this was 400+ pages of stalled action and no plot or character development. I love these authors and their other books and really hope that book three brings this all back together and ties up all the loose ends and unanswered questions.

I got the incredible opportunity to read this as ARC, just like with Dangerous Men.
That I enjoyed it would be an understatement. It’s clear that it’s a continuation, so best to read Dangerous men before. Jade, remains and I think will be forever my favorite character. Her dry wit, her supportiveness and her contagious energy is everything. And the men.. how do I even begin? Out of the four, Alec remains my favorite. But I’m warming up to Seb. Maybe even Viper still. I loved how Syd was not suppressing her angry side as much. And that ending.. I’m still reading.. part three is coming soon right? Right?!

Between 3-4⭐️

Kinda boring, plot, add p*** in there, some plot, more p***, and then bam! The cliffhanger ending. I truly thought it could end at 2 books but I clearly thought incorrectly. Sucks cause I do want to see how this ends but my god, will it end at book 3 or more?! I truly don’t think we need more than 3 books in this series, but what do I know?!

I want to know what happens w/ the whole Dante situation & of course crazy chase. But that’s it really. At first the wild, s** w/ Alec, Sebastian & Ashton was great but then for book 2 to basically write only about s** got a little old. When you’re over s** scenes, that says a lot… and I was over it, I needed more plot.

I was given an ARC through the authors, this review is based only on my opinions and my opinions only.

I spent every waking moment I had today reading this book losing sleep because I simply could not put this book down, I haven’t read a book I couldn’t put down like this since the first book was released. I am genuinely obsessed with everyone in this book and everything the FMC stands for and how she handles her own evolution as a character. The men…..just wow, I simply have no words for how hot this book was. I am eagerly awaiting the next book. Read the trigger warnings this may not be everyone’s cup of tea but it was definitely mine. I can’t say more without feeling like i’m spoiling this amazing aggressively spicy masterpiece so I leave you with this. “I don’t have to do it. I could hang up right now. But I follow his orders”

“A man who’s never known the pleasure of making you come. You think I could ever be jealous of a man like that?”

A ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR SEB AND VIPER 😮‍💨👏 My pookies!! Seb really carried this book. We love a quiet, nerdy man in slutty lil’ glasses. & Ash is such a sweetie boy and didn’t deserve to be ignored like that 🤣 Justice for our golden retriever!!

As always, the spice is *chef’s kiss*

“I love that you can follow orders, like a good little slut.”

Can’t wait to for the last book and to hopefully see some more of Viper 👀

ARC Review

Your favorite characters are back in Dangerous Thoughts, book two of the Fortune City Mafia series.

While brothers, big broody bossman Alec and love bombing puppy Ashton were the leading men of Sydney's blossoming new version of relationships in book one, we get a much better look at the remaining two brothers in the wake of the events of book one. The composed, ever-watchful Sebastian and rabid attack dog Viper are eager to emerge from their respective shadows and unleash the parts of Sydney that they know she has hidden from the world, and even herself, uniquely embracing and claiming those pieces for themselves, leaving no doubt that they have left their mark on Syd, and the readers.

Where does that leave the other two brothers though? The ones on our stupid, lying, assholes shit list after book one? Well, that's for Sydney to decide, and for you to find out.

And Jade! As if we could ever forget the sister we wish we had! She's just as fun in book two, back at her full time job of keeping Sydney relatively whole, while simultaneously pushing her to figure her shit out the way only the very best of friends can, and running the cafe inside their bookstore. I love their unbreakable bond. It's a sisterhood all women should have.

And new characters! Yaaaaaas! What's not to like/love about them?

But it's not all filthy, delicious fun and games. There's still that pesky past that doesn't seem to want to stay behind all of them. In fact, it seems more present than ever. What does that mean for Syd? Can she accept that the men in her life aren't the versions of themselves she believed them to be? Can she handle their truths the way she handles other parts of them? Can she accept herself as the woman they see her to be? What does it mean for the brothers? Are they able to keep the girl and their carefully built empire out of the vengeful hands of the man they previously believed to be dead? If so, at what cost?

Book two is just as devourable as the first, laying down some honest facts, delivering laugh out loud quips, and making you blush hoping that no one is able to see your screen while in public.

BUT, I would just like to say, how very rude of the authors to leave us hanging the way they have, yet again. RUDE! The least they can do is give us Dangerous Deeds the moment it's done, so we can find out what happens next, because I need to know.

****Team Sebastian, BTW. It may be a “why choose” but that doesn't mean we readers can't have favorites. Voyerism isn't really my kink but I do so deeply love a quiet, intelligent, deadly man that keeps his cards close to his chest for the world, but would reveal everything for his lady love. F*cking swoon.****

READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS. For gods' sake, protect your mental health if you need to.

This honestly doesn't really deserve the 5 star, but I love this series so much so far that it's all I could rate it. This is mostly SPOILER-FREE, but if you really want to go into this blind, skip the rest of the review.

Cons first: Horrible miscommunication, which is my LEAST favorite trope. Like, girl, just listen to the guy talk. You honestly have more to worry about that this man's relationship status. Also, why are we not telling someone when they're in mortal danger? Hello? Also, the "big bad guy" is once again barely seen in the whole book and the heroes ward him off way too easily in my opinion.

Pros (there are way more than this but I gotta keep this brief babes): I love Sydney. I know some readers see her as annoying or self-deprecating to the point of irritation, but I really don't think so. She's a survivor of some messed up stuff (including stuff we learn about in this book) and she also suffers from an anger/rage management problem. As someone who was medicated for that kind of stuff, I totally see why Sydney is the way she is. She is constantly trying to be anyone but herself, which can lead to some circular reasoning and repetitive thoughts. But she is also reflective and confident in who she's becoming.
Did the part where she broke Jade's trust suck? Yeah. But literally everyone makes mistakes or chooses to do the wrong thing sometimes. I never expect my MCs to be perfect people who only ever do the right thing. She absolutely sucked for the decision, but I'm not going to hate her as a character because of it.
Jade is probably the best person on the planet. I love her, I want her, I want to BE her. Everyone needs a best friend like Jade. Give me more of her. PLEASE.
The men. Ohhhh, the men. I usually like my RH to have the men also in relationships with each other, but I can see past the lack of that in this series just because of their love for each other. It may not be romantic or sexual love, but these men truly TRULY love each other. Holy cow.
Also, they are so desperate for Sydney. Even Viper, who may actually be a sociopathic serial killer, cannot deny her. He quite literally risked his life without her even needing to ask. We all need a (slightly less murder-y) Viper in our lives.

Realistically, this is a 3.5 or 4 star. Still an amazing read, but it probably won't be everyone's cup of tea. I personally still give it a 5, and will be waiting with bated breathe for the next book.

Thanks so much to Evelyn Ward for letting me read another book in this series as an eARC!

Honestly, the only thing I can say is that I am OBSESSED with this series. I love me a good reverse harem and this one is top-notch. The men are delicious, Jade is a delight as Sydney's best friend, her brother, Justin, and their new kitten Bea are fun new characters adding color to the story, and Sydney is a relatable FMC just trying to deal with anger issues, run her store, and get her men to just be honest with her. It seems even FMCs living the dream with four hot men worshipping her still somehow have man problems; who woulda thought?

I love the differences between all the characters; they are all unique and have their own personalities and ways of relating to Sydney through different avenues of her personality. I like that they make her feel seen and appreciated as a whole and are never judgmental of her wants and needs. And the spice is SPICIN', honey, and it's sexy as hell. Evelyn Ward KNOWS how to write spice and I love them for it.

But the story developing in the background is gripping and entertaining to boot; I'm still on the edge of my seat needing to know how this epic feud with Dante is going to play out and how Jade is going to get out of the predicament she's in. I also want to know more about the deal Alec made with Annika that she referred to when she caught Sydney at the Second Circle. And of course, our girls left us on a cliffhanger that has all of us salivating for the next book already and we're all going to be in book hangover agony until we get more of Sydney, Alec, Ash, Sebastian, and Viper. Personally, I'd be happy with just Doc, but who's going to say no to all four? Flew right through this in a few hours because I could not get enough. Needless to say, five freaking stars from me. Book three as soon as humanly possible please, put us out of our misery!

Holy Shit. Like for real.   This book had me in a chokehold the whole time.

Dangerous Thoughts is the second book in the Fortune City Mafia trilogy by the wonderful Evelyn Ward(s).  You are once again joining Sydney and her band of Murderous men on a wild ride.

Sydney is angry, and she has every right to be angry. Some of her men know what space means and some, well, they think they know. She needs time and space from her men but circumstances are not always making that possible. When things start happen around her and too her, it’s a scary experience.

When she has to call them though it's no question they will burn the world if she but asks.

Ashton is still the wonderful golden retriever boy he is from the first book and I feel like he grows a bit in this book.  He finally listens and he learns why his behavior is problematic.

Alec is self loathing and a devious bastard.  He has to learn a lesson and what it takes for him to learn is terrifying.

Viper is babygirl. I mean, Viper is still still the same insane mountain of a man and we get to see more for him in this book.  He is a great mix of menace and surprise. I agree, who doesn't love kittens and little rabbits?

Sebastian is the king of actual consent is this one. He respects the lines Sydney puts down.  Slutty Little Glasses really comes through in this one and I loved it!

I love that the authors delve into the difference of some books in a sort of tongue in cheek method. Using the ‘The Prince’s Blade’ and comparing to another fictional series there is a very good discussion mid-book regarding the Female Power Fantasy and the Male Power Fantasy.

Overall I would 100% recommend this series with no warning that it ends in a cliffhanger just to watch my friends have the same reaction I did.

I absolutely love this series. I adore Sydney, and this book with her men was a wild, emotional ride that I was fully strapped in for from page one.

Our girl is mad and honestly, she has every damn right to be. I was so furious at Alec (and with the others too) that I was ready to reach through the pages and slap him myself. Sydney desperately needs space and time… but of course, she doesn’t get that. And just to make things worse, someone is now after her.

Watching the guys grovel? Deeply satisfying. But Seb and Viper oh damn, I need more of those two immediately. And Ash… my heart went out to him so hard. Even though he was pushy as hell, I still love that man. I do feel like he had some great growth in this book, especially in recognising what he did wrong. But my absolute favourite part? I will just say this: I love a man on his knees when he fucks up and owns it. Can you guess which one it was?

But the most important question of all will Sydney forgive them? I won’t spoil anything so you’ll have to dive in and find that answer yourself.

I also have to mention Jade, because that woman is the definition of a ride-or-die friend. Her friendship with Sydney is something truly special the kind of unbreakable bond everyone needs in their life. I loved seeing that relationship shine.

The new characters? Ohh yess. This book was packed with surprises, and I’m left with a ton of questions. The writing truly shined here, you could feel every emotion Sydney went through. And the pacing? An absolute beast. The story grabbed me, pulled me in, and refused to let go.

And that ending… God damn. That cliffhanger nearly took me out. These cliffhangers are going to be the death of me, and I am more than ready for book three.

Thank you so much to Evelyn Ward for this ARC. If I could give more than five stars, I absolutely would this series has my whole heart.

"He doesn't know what you like... But I do. Don't I, Sydney?"

My dudes, Evelyn Ward is putting us through the ringer with these boys! I feel like all of my feelings are being tested in book 2 and I am CONCERNED...

Thanks for the advanced reader copy <3
For your reading pleasure, my notes (in order of appearance):
• Starting each of these books off with Dante’s Inferno quotes is such a vibe ["abandon all hope, ye who enter here."]
• Oh YES
• Oh… oh no…
• I hate that I don’t trust [redacted] whatsoever.
• The short chapters make this devourable! I imagine this is how people who read airport thrillers feel.
• Ope, we’ve got a poet here!
• Omg Viper and his little cookies. Do I like Viper now? Am I still creeped out by him? Both?
• Syd’s refusal to tell anyone that she’s scared shitless for totally valid reasons continues to be infuriating.
• God Seb is hot.
• Jade continues to be the best ever (surprising no one).
• I love when the boys are jealous <3
• Ashton?
• ASHTON.
• Oh my
• Viper 🥹
• What do you mean I’m out here doing research for the mafia smut
• Oh thank god finally (daddy’s home!)
• Viper vs the zipper may be the funniest thing I’ve ever read
• The whiplash of this pacing is INSANE and an absolute wild ride if you’re into that kind of thing (I am) — like I’m researching Russian literature and biting my nails one minute, cackling like a crazy person the next. It’s absurd and melodramatic and HOT (and did I mention DANGEROUS?)!

In all honesty, Dangerous Thoughts throws us more problems than answers. While it digs deeper into the *mafia* of it all and provides some more worldbuilding via in-fighting amongst the brothers, we're still largely coming at this plot from Sydney's perspective and as such, are still totally left in the dark. This is frustrating, obviously. I've got questions and I'm ANGRY, but I think that's to be expected from book 2 in a 5 book series.

In short: I'm hooked, I'm feral, and I have a crushing need to see what happens next to all these lovably flawed characters. I'll read anything the Wards write. Gimme MORE.

"Oh little rabbit, little rabbit," he purrs into my ear. "You can't run from me. Not ever."

I was so excited for the ARC and it did not disappoint!

It's spice, it's plot, it's polyamory 😍 The first book was a roaring introduction, the perfect way to fall for each of the characters. The second forces you to slow down, to Think About What You've Done, and to develop as characters. And then it absolutely rails you with even more spice 🤣

To be clear, it does have its problems, but I still greatly enjoyed it. The first 60% of the book does drastically change pace and content compared to the first book--especially if you were in it just for spice, and definitely if you hate miscommunication tropes--but it was refreshing to have a character actually draw and clearly iterate boundaries, focus on their own life, and try to take time to process things. I think some of the biggest series of our day ( 👀 heaaaavy side-eye at Violet in Iron Flame) do an atrocious job with the trope and don't get commensurate flack.

And while I agree that I'd like to see her grow more, I think Sydney is realistic. She was, prior to this debacle, in a long term abusive relationship. For her to display confidence in her own thoughts, feelings, and decisions--even inconsistently--*is* growth. She is also the co-owner of a small business and is being very actively stalked and intimidated (a generous word for the box Jade opened) throughout. And she is having huge drama in FOUR very new, very unstable relationships. Would *you* be able to think clearly under those conditions? Would you be shoving aside your friend, new cat, business, and extremely limited downtime to sit down and listen to some (admittedly extremely hot) criminals explain why they lied to you as they fucked you (among other more substantial things)?

“I was transfixed by her, mesmerized by her touch. I’ve never felt anything like that before. And now? Now I’ll do everything in my power to protect her from scum like this.”

I am so heads over heels in love with this series! The tension and yearning is SO delicious! The passion and desire of these characters is off the charts divine!

What I really love about this book is we get to see some serious depth of character in [one of the MMCs- redacted for sake of possible spoilers?]. It feels like we get to see more inside his mind and his particular temperament and… quirks… are what our FMC really needs during the events of this book. Don’t get me wrong, all of our morally black men are around and working hard to get back in Sydney’s good graces! But I really felt like I got to connect with one in particular this time around.

The writing style of these books makes it so easy to sink in and really get lost in the world. It is both effortless and compelling. This series is definitely becoming a favorite for me, and I will recommend it over and over again!

If Mafia why choose is your thing, I would definitely recommend this series! Start with Dangerous Men (and thank me later hehehe).

ARC Review of Dangerous Thoughts by Evelyn Ward releasing February 14th. This is the second book in the Fortune City Mafia Series, you must read the first book, Dangerous Men, before this book. This book ends on a cliffhanger.

I was gifted a copy of this book by the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you!

Dangerous Thoughts by Evelyn Ward 🖤

Okay bestie, I liked this one… just not as much as Dangerous Men. I’m stuck between 3–4⭐️, and honestly my mood might decide 😅

My favorite part hands down was Sebastian. The scenes between him and Sydney? Perfection. I loved seeing him open up more and also, “Big word for Elmo” absolutely took me out 😂

I was so happy we got more Viper this book, even though one of his scenes left me a little shook and not in a good way 🫣 I love his pov chapters giving us a look into how he thinks. I also really liked that Ash (not really iykyk 😂) and Alec stepped back, giving space for the others to shine in book 2. And can we talk about Justin? Jade’s brother instantly became a favorite.

Annika is in this book more but I’m not fully invested in her story yet especially since she confirmed her and the guys were never romantic. Dante has been mentioned as a huge threat in both of the books and yet we still barely know anything about him. I would like to see more of him in book 3 and from the way this book ended. I feel like we will get it.

One thing I’m still craving though is that the story keeps reminding us how dangerous these men are, but I want to see more of that, especially from the one who’s supposed to be the boss, Alec. I’m ready for less luxury and more mafia 👀

There’s a lot being set up for the next book, and if book three delivers on the threats that have been looming since book one, I think things are about to get wild.

Dark romance lovers, if you’re already in this series, you’ll definitely want to continue 🖤

This book is sheer perfection for me! Sydney & Jade’s friendship remains as loyal & loving as in Book 1 with Jade dropping truth bombs on Sydney like any real bestie would!

I cackled twice before I was even in chapter 1. Sorry, one of those times was super inappropriate but I’m dying to ask K if the resemblance is to someone still living or ? 👀 I know, it’s fiction, but still I can hope that fucker is rotting.

The men, well Mr. SLG (aka Seb or Doc) is in rare form throughout the book. He’s more than a kinky little voyeur & we get to know him so much better in this book.

Viper! Mmm, he’s everything I hoped for & still surprising af! Kinky little sadist!

Ash shows us his vulnerable side & we shares childhood memories with us.

And Alec… f*cking Alec! I nominate him for dumbest smart motherfucker in her polycule…because I wanted to slap the shit out of him FREQUENTLY!

Definitely surprises in this book and scenes (hinted at from content warning) that I was 100% sure would include so-and-so & take place in such-and-such place…did not in fact contain who I expected or happen where I expected!

I ate this book up & will be eagerly awaiting Book 3.

Can I give this book more stars? 10 out of 5, is that okay?

If you like mafia romance? You’ll probably like this. If you like why choose romance with an edge & kinky freaks, you’ll want to read this!

Read it my friends! I dare you! But do check the Content Warnings if you have triggers! 💕
