Okay, first things first, marriage of convenience is my top trope so I knew going in this book would be right up my alley. But add in mutual pining, best friends to more, forced proximity on a game show... um, perfection! I loved it!

Brooke has entered a game show but the timing is all wrong given that it requires not just that she be in a relationship, but married to play. But she just got out of her relationship. The timing works out best for Owen... her best friend. He's wanted out of the friend zone for years, so when she needs a husband for the game show, who better than him. She's thinking its a fake marriage with an end date, but if Owen has his way they'll be no end in sight. But they've been down this road before and Brooke doesn't want to risk her friendship with Owen for a romance that she worries could end up like her mother's. Can a little forced proximity, a teeny, tiny camper, and game show challenges convince Owen and Brooke their marriage can last beyond the show? Or will cold feet and fear force them back to the friendzone once again?!

Loved this! I knew the moment I started reading, these two would be entertaining to watch! The chemistry, kisses, and just all round respect and love for each other, just pulled me in! And did I just get a sneak peek at Dinah and Jack again? Thank you, thank you! Book 2 in Happy in Honey Hills does NOT disappoint and the chemistry and friendship is oh so perfect and oh so swoony, and the feelings they two have for each other -> priceless! I think I even see some potential future couples introduced in this one and I am oh so excited!

I gave this one a 4.5 star rating rounded to a 5!

I received a complimentary copy, this review reflects my honest opinion.

Owen has loved Brooke for years. Thanks to a reality TV show that Brooke applied to be on, Owen gets his shot at making Brooke his wife.

I didn't want this book to end. So many mixed emotions! The patience and respect Owen showed along with the real challenges Brooke faced when acknowledging her love for Owen had me tearing up. Contrasted with so many moments that had me in stitches!

This is an honest review. Grateful to be part of B.R. Goodwin's ARC team so I can promote her work even more! Her books are so wholesome and refreshing to read. Thank you, Brianna, for the light you shine, and for letting me be on your team! Never stop writing.

This was just adorable. Owen was top-tier MMC. The way he loved Brooke and was so patient with her as he waited for her to let down her walls. Their banter was so much fun and I loved all the side characters!

If you love an unique take on marriage of convenience, then you'll want to grab this sweet book!

If I only had three words to convince you to read Head Over Wheels by B.R. Goodwin, it would be these – Owen. Owen. Owen. (Confession: I was actually going to go with “breath-stealing romantic tension” but Owen is the reason for that so I called an audible at the last minute. Yes, I know that’s football and not baseball. Sorry, Owen.) We also all know that I love friends-to-more and marriage-of-convenience and forced proximity romances, so when a book combines ALL THREE tropes into one delicious story, I am in reader heaven. And what a marvelous job the author does with the yearning and the romantic tension between Owen and Brooke!

Which brings me back to Owen – talented baseball pitcher with a dream of playing in the Majors; incredibly patient in his love for his best friend, Brooke; truly a good guy with a big heart. And, shallowly on my part, he’s super swoony too. I adored him in every way. But especially his faithful, tender, and steady pursuit of the woman he loves. He understands why she’s got him firmly in ‘the friend zone’, but he keeps hoping nonetheless and keeps being her friend in the meantime. Getting his POV throughout the story was my favorite because it sizzles with attraction to Brooke and a deep longing for her heart. Whew. I’m fanning again just thinking about it. And Owen Jones shall henceforth and forevermore be in my book boyfriend Hall of Fame.

I loved Brooke too, don’t get me wrong. Her POV is just as delightful as Owen’s, and I couldn’t get enough of her witty commentary on the situation they’re in. A situation, by the way, that was absolute perfection for this story. Goodwin sets it up so well too, bringing all the needed elements together so the marriage of these plot devices makes sense. Marriage being the key word there. Sticking Brooke in a tiny travel trailer, newly married (platonically) to her swoony best friend who wants her whole heart, and making it against the competition rules to step foot outside the trailer for two months… Storytelling genius, right there. The chemistry and the yearning generated by this forced proximity made it nearly impossible for me to breathe sometimes, but I also really appreciated that Goodwin puts other things in place that help them work through the deeper issues that they – particularly Brooke – need to unpack in order for their relationship – friendship or otherwise – to be emotionally healthy.

Bottom Line: A reality TV show competition. A marriage of convenience between best friends. One tiny travel trailer that they can’t leave for two months if they want to win. Off the charts chemistry. Unforgettable characters. Head Over Wheels by B.R. Goodwin fully consumed me, heart and soul, from beginning to end. I drank in every word as quickly as I could even though I didn’t want it to ever be over. If you love romantic tension so thick you can feel it in your own chest, a hero who loves deeply and waits patiently, witty humor that lifts your spirit, and a plot that maximizes every ounce of ‘will-they-or-won’t-they’ yearning, this book will hold you captive like it did me. While this is not marketed as Christian fiction, per se, there are still elements of faith folded gently into the framework of the story, and I loved that too. Head Over Wheels will be a must-read recommendation from me – accompanied by much enthusiastic flailing – for a very long time.

Release date 2/2/26

Book 2 in the Happy in Honey Hill series did not disappoint. The light heartedness of this one balanced well with the more serious moments. Brooke is deep, and Owen levels her out so well! He is such a great support for her and she learns along the way that she can trust him.
There was a big moment in this one - sort of like a “finally” moment. It was a very big deal to Brooke and when the moment arrived I didn’t realize how intimate it could be. It was like tearing down another layer of Brooke. Owen is the biggest golden retriever and I think these two are perfect together! The fact that these two were best friends first made this story that much better for me!
I loved seeing the Cotten family and also the Remillards!
Brianna - you write the most amazing rom coms! This one was adorable!

*No foul language, kissing only

Favorite quote -
It’s a thought I’ve never dared allow myself to truly consider, but the desire to bicker and laugh and make up with this man forever, consumes my soul so fully, I feel my heart pang with longing.

Head Over Wheels is a heartfelt, emotionally rich friends-to-lovers romance that blends small-town charm, long-standing devotion, and life-altering decisions.

At its core, this story is about timing, loyalty, and the quiet fear of losing the person who has always been your constant. Brooke and Owen share years of history, inside jokes, unspoken feelings, and mutual sacrifice. Their dynamic feels authentic and layered, and the emotional stakes are real.

Brooke’s internal struggle—between staying rooted in Honey Hill and chasing something bigger—adds depth to her character. Meanwhile, Owen’s baseball dreams and unexpected injury create vulnerability and urgency. His steadfast love and willingness to fight for their future make him a compelling romantic lead.

The reality game show element adds a fresh twist to the story and serves as a catalyst for growth and commitment rather than distraction. The romance is closed door, focusing on emotional connection.

Although the book is marketed for ages 14–18, I personally would not recommend it for younger teens. In my view, it is best suited for young adult readers and up.

If you enjoy:
• Friends-to-lovers romance
• Small-town settings
• Sports romance elements
• Emotional growth and commitment-focused storylines

Head Over Wheels delivers a satisfying and swoony read with heart and maturity.

So stinking adorable and heart felt. Owen and Brooks story is swoony, sweet, moving, hilarious and so much more. I adored their journey from friends to love so so much.
B. R. Goodwin always has an amazing cast of side characters as well that really bring her stories to life. Gretchen is definitely my favorite in this book 😉.

B. R. Goodwin’s books are must reads for me, and I find myself getting giddy with excitement when I know I have a new rom-com of hers to read. They are all so fun and laugh-out-loud hilarious! But the fact that this one has my favorite romance trope–marriage of convenience–had me even more excited than usual LOL!

Brooke and Owen’s best friends-to-more romance was SO CUTE. 🥰 Brooke has a lot of baggage to work through, and I sometimes wanted to shake her and tell her to just tell Owen she loved him already LOL, but how it all plays out in the end is perfectly satisfying. The reality TV/game show element was a fun twist and another thing that had me hooked on this book because I’m a sucker for a good competition show. I thought I knew how everything would turn out, but of course, Brianna threw in some curve balls here and there (HA! No pun intended, since Owen is a baseball player ⚾️) to keep things from being too easy or predictable!

Overall, a HOME RUN read for me (that time, the pun was intended 😜)! It should be automatic “add to TBR” for all rom-com lovers!

PS: the sushi incident was probably my favorite part 🤣👏🏻 “Marriage is beautiful” IYKYK

Wow… what a book! This story had the perfect balance of romance and comedy. I laughed out loud so many times while reading—it was such a joy from beginning to end.

I especially loved the marriage of convenience, friends-to-lovers, dual POV, and the small-town gossip elements. All of those tropes came together beautifully. The story is closed-door, faith-friendly, and incredibly engaging.

I received a complimentary copy, but all thoughts and opinions are entirely my own. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys clean romance with humor and heart.

I am an absolute sucker for a best friends-to-lovers story, but Head Over Wheels completely stole my heart. From the very first pages, B.R. Goodwin has this incredible ability to bring characters to life in such a natural, believable way that you feel connected to them instantly. Brooke, especially, was so easy to love—her journey felt tender, honest, and deeply relatable.

Watching Brooke’s character arc unfold was the sweetest part of the story. Seeing her learn not only how to love someone else, but also how to love herself and accept being loved in return, was beautifully written. It never felt rushed or forced—just genuine, emotional growth that made every moment of the romance even more meaningful.

The friendship at the core of the story gave the romance so much depth. The history, the comfort, the quiet understanding between them—it made every small shift in their relationship feel significant and swoon-worthy. This is the kind of story that leaves you smiling long after you finish.

My only complaint is I needed more of Owen and Brooke, it was over far too soon!

First I couldn’t put this book down , it has dual point of views , best friends plus more , marriage of convenience and golden retriever man.
Owen and Brooke have known each other since for forever and she signs up for a game show but she has since broken up with her current boyfriend she was going to be on the show with, then steps in her bestie Owen who loves her and offers to help. One thing they have to be newlyweds on the show, not a problem for Owen he always knew they would be together . I love the chemistry and the kisses in the book and the banter .
This is book two in a series but you can read it as a stand alone , I would go back and read Forget me Knot it’s cute too. Hoping there is book three around the corner .
I loved this book and I finished it right before 12am on New Years Eve .
I highly recommend reading this book . All opinions are my own I got this as a copy to read for arc thank you B.R. Goodwin

What a delightful, perfect book for lovers of the best friends to more trope! There’s chemistry, there’s banter, there’s so much yearning… this story sucked me in from the very beginning and did not let me go until the end. Owen and Brooke demonstrate how being best friends only made their relationship stronger (once it became “official”). Having the premise of a reality game show force them together more quickly was a fun and fresh take on the marriage of convenience trope. I loved the forced proximity it created, and the green troll Gretchen. IFKYK. We got to see Jack and Dinah again, and we even saw cameos from Roman and Chloe. All in all, a lovely story that gives you all the best warm and fuzzies.

Probably one of the best marriage-of-convenience rom-coms I’ve read. It was so refreshing in that it didn’t have any of the non-communication issues that’s often a pitfall of the trope even tho I love that one. It was brilliantly the opposite, and the reality show gave it such a fun backdrop.

"It’s just me and Brooke. Babe and Ruth. Always, just us."

This was actual perfection. The best friend, familiar banter was great. The married tension, banter, & flirting with their spouse? Delicious. The game show? Loved! The clear communication & facing fears? Two thumbs up, baby.

📖: 1st person, dual POV
🌶️: kisses only, alludes to marriage bed activities but nothing detailed or on page
🤬: no foul language
⚠️: parental abandonment (past, off page), injury, anxiety

I was given an eARC of this book to read so these words and opinions are my own. ☺️

I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
It was so sweet to read Brooke and Owens story after getting a small taste of their connection in Forget me Knot.
Reading how patient and intentional Owen was with everything he did quite honestly had me melting.
I love everything Brianna writes. Her books always capture me and the characters she creates I am always falling in love with and this was no different.
I loved seeing special guest appearances from some of my previously beloved characters from Brianna's other Romcoms!

What a unique spin on friends-to-more AND marriage of convenience in this quirky and swoony RomCom! I was glad to read Owen and Brooke's story after meeting them in Forget Me Knot, the first book in the Happy in Honey Hill series.

These characters have depth. Hearing their struggles and inner thoughts, you're cheering them on or sometimes wanting to give them a stern talking to. They deal with their "stuff," they learn and grow.

My favorite friends-to-more quote, from Brooke thoughts: "...as I look back, every touch, every lingering, secretive gaze, or tender kiss to my head, my cheek, my hands... affection that never felt like anything more than the norm between Owen and me, I'm now seeing as the precursor to something more. Almost as if he's been planting tiny seeds of affection for years just waiting for them to bloom into a great big flowering tree...."

This quote also perfectly shows how patient Owen has been. The man is the epitome of self-control. And love.

I appreciate the importance of family and friendships in this story. The larger cast of characters are relatable and lovable, and I can't wait for the next book in the series!

4,5, rounded to 5

Head over Wheels is the second book in the Happy in Honey Hills series and is as sweet and funny as the prequel.

Like every other Romcom I’ve read by Brianna it is full of witty banter and wonderful characters and has a rather unique plot.
I am NOT a fan of reality shows. Like AT ALL. I find them to be stupid, cringe worthy, second-hand-embarassing-inducing, exploitative… should I go on? But as it happens I read two Romcoms in the last month where the main characters took part in a reality show and I’m surprised to say - reading about a fictional reality show is quite different and can even be really fun. ;)

So this game show “forces” best friends Owen and Brooke to marry so they can participate. Sounds a bit unrealistic, but we’re talking Romcom here, where every reason for a MOC is valid and we’ve already established that I know nothing when it comes to reality shows.

I already loved Owen in Forget me Knot and he is just adorable. He’s sweet, caring, kind and oh so patient with his best friend Brooke, with whom he has been in love with for ages.
And yes, I really liked Brooke too. They made such a cute couple!

The one thing that I really didn’t like - maybe I’m petty here - but I don’t think you should constantly call your best friend of the opposite sex, who is or could be to your knowledge dating other people, “babe”. Urgh. I’m from Germany, so maybe it’s a cultural thing, but I really hate the nickname babe/baby in general. But how Owen and Brooke used it, while especially Brooke was adamant they were just friends and she thought Owen to be with other women kind of gave me the ick… They were in general too physical with each other for my personal taste. I know this was built up to their sizzling and simmering romance, but I always wonder in these (fictional) scenarios how this would play out IF one of them eventually found another partner. I for one would definitely not feel comfortable being this physical with a male best friend and would not appreciate my husband calling a female friend babe (or a German equivalent of that nickname).

There were also a few things a bit over the top in the joke apartment. But this is personal preference and some people find puking fun while I always wonder why so many romcoms include scenes where someone throws up (preferably on the love interest it seems, even though this is fortunately not the case here.). I digress. The humour in these books is just not of the subtle sort which admittedly makes for some really funny scenes, but doesn’t always hit the mark for me personally.

I recommend Head over Wheels if you love friends-to-lovers romances, MOC and forced proximity mixed with light faith themes.

* Thank you to the author for letting me read an advanced copy of this book. I leave this review voluntarily and the expressed opinions are my own.

Head Over Wheels by B. R. Goodwin is a delightful Christian romcom. This book delivers everything I want in the genre with charm, humor, and heart.

Brooke McBride is a hairdresser desperate to leave her small town, and a game show cash prize could be her ticket out. The catch? She needs to be married to compete, and she just broke up with her boyfriend. Enter Owen Jones, a baseball player sidelined by a potentially career-ending injury who has been pining for Brooke since high school but never escaped the friend zone. Their marriage of convenience setup launches a story packed with tropes I love: best friends, game show contestants, and the slow burn of realizing what was there all along.

B. R. Goodwin has a gift for balancing laugh-out-loud moments with genuine emotional depth and faith struggles. Brooke and Owen's chemistry crackles on every page, and their banter had me grinning constantly. The nicknames "Babe" and "Ruth" are absolutely adorable. I also loved "Tink" (IYKYK). Watching them work through their worries and differences felt authentic and satisfying.

My only hesitation at first was whether the setup seemed too impossible to pull off believably, but Goodwin handled it brilliantly and had me rooting for this couple from page one.

Highly recommended for Christian romcom fans who love creative tropes and swoon-worthy friendships turned romance, irresistible chemistry, clever trope combinations, and the perfect balance of humor and heart for fans of small-town romance.

Another trip to Honey Hills... and a romance so beautifully written that it already has me looking forward to the next! Simply put, Brooke and Owen were the cutest. Best friends entering a marriage of convenience to compete in a reality TV show forcing them to share a tiny camper, unable to leave? (Talk about forced proximity!) I'm not a reality TV fan, but...I found myself wanting to watch this one just the same! This was truly such a fun idea for a story... and the execution was even better. More importantly though, I loved these two together... their long friendship gave us all the history and pining and the chemistry between them was so good. She may have entered the marriage for a game show, but it was the perfect push for them to cross that line from friendship to something more. As always, B.R. Goodwin delivers a story that will make you swoon and laugh out loud... this is exactly what a friends to more should be! If you love a little marriage convenience between friends, this is one not to be missed.

Head Over Wheels is a closed-door romance with kisses only on page and no language. There is some very vague implied intimacy off page between a married couple, but it is so vague/non-detailed that I hesitate to even call it that. It is the second book in the Happy in Honey Hill series, but I do believe this could be enjoyed as a standalone as well.

Bri has done it again.
How far would you go to prove to your best friend that you're meant to be together forever, even if she's refusing to see it? What about getting married to compete in a game show, her favorite show, and win some big money?
Well, Owen's going for it. Despite the warnings and Brooke's refusal to acknowledge any form of forever, Owen is ALL IN. Operation win Brooke's heart is on. One day at a time. And maybe, just maybe, she'll give in and cut his hair too.

Brooke's faced the leaving kind one too many times. With a whole lot of hurt in her heart, she's not willing to risk Owen and what they have just to watch him leave her for his dreams in the end. No way josé is she going to be left heartbroken and alone again. Even if it means denying little green Gretchen's wishes and losing it all.

Head Over Wheels left me wanting to flip right back to the start and read it all over again. It is so dang sweet, swoony and downright hilarious. I will happy be adding it back onto my TBR shelf for another read this year, because man, it's that good! I loved this book and I fully will be recommending everyone pick it up and read it this year. It's sheer perfection on a balance of swoony, serious, lighthearted and laugh worthy. Brooke and Owen might just be my new favorite bookish couple. They for sure will be a hard one to beat this year. 💕

4.5 rounded up to 5 stars!! I just love Owen and Brooke. Head over Wheels is the best of best friends to more, marriage of convenience, and close proximity. When Brooke gets cast in Suite Hearts (a game show for married couples), her best friend Owen decides she must be on it and marries her. Brooke has always planned that to be on the game show, she would quickly marry, do the game show, win, and then quietly divorce. Little does she know (or maybe she does) that Owen is in it for the long haul and wants to prove to Brooke that they are meant to be. Brooke's abandonment issues get in the way of her being all in on her relationship with Owen, but Owen is tender-hearted and aims to show Brooke that true love endures all things.

This book is a closed-door romance with lots of tension and swoon-worthy moments. The faith content is very mild, and there are some things that are red flags for me like Brooke's nonchalant view of divorce and her living in the guest room at Owen's house. But I think Goodwin does an ok job with balancing this out with Owen and his desire to respect Brooke's boundaries. While not explicit, in a way, I guess Owen's steadfastness and promise to never leave Brooke is the picture of Christ's relationship with the Church.

And as I like to call them, the Triple G Team (Gretchen, Gram, and Gloria) have my heart. They had me cackling at their antics.

This has got to be one of the sweetest marriage of convenience stories ever. Owen was just a gooey cinnamon roll who did nothing but care for Brooke, even when she took forever to come around to the idea of being his wife. He was exactly what she needed and she was exactly what he'd always wanted. It was just so good. I feel like my words can't do their relationship justice.
I loved the humor that filled this story. The marriage game show was ripe with hilarity and craziness. It was so fun to see some characters from previous books. It's not necessary to read those books before this one, but knowing some of the other contestants on the game show does add a fun dimension.
I also liked that this story exhibits Christian values. Brooke and Owen kind of got married on a whim, but that didn't keep them from doing the counseling that normally comes *before* marriage. I loved seeing them work together with their pastor and his wife to understand their new relationship, and to understand it through a biblical world view.
I highly recommend this if you like your romance with a healthy dose of humor and faith!

If you're looking for a spice free, swoony, laugh out loud romcom look no further. Head Over Wheels ticks all the boxes.

This is book two in the Happy In Honey Hill series by @authorbrgoodwin. It can be read as a stand alone, but don't do yourself the disservice. Book one, Forget Me Knot, is so good, and whenever I recommend it to someone I have to say that it's got the biggest plot twist and it's right at the start!!

HOW is one of my favourite ARCs from last year, and made my top 25 list. The story is engaging, the characters are relatable, Owen the MMC is a new favourite and I was cracking up at FMC Brooke's inner monologue, affectionately named Gretchen, and at Owen and Brookes adorable banter.

This book is perfect for fans of
📚 He falls first, pining, and a MMC who's determined to win his girl over
⚾ Accidental post op confessions of undying love, complete with serenades
🩵 Books with Faith
📚 Long term best friends finally getting there
⚾ Literally anybody that like to laugh. Seriously.

Also if you enjoyed Forget Me Knot, 'Charlie Savage and her sweet escape' or 'Before you were mine' (because Dino shirts lol), you'll like this.

Goodwin's books are a pleasure to read, and she's as funny to talk to as she is in her writing

♡Head Over Wheels♡

•5⭐️
•Spice: 🌶️* (kisses only. Implied intimacy between married couple)
•Language: none
•TW/CW: parental abandonment. Struggling relationship with parent. Fear of abandonment.

My thoughts:
I thought book 1 was my favorite but this is so amazing! It’s almost too sweet to handle!
Owen and Brooke were just the absolute best and I loved them so much! I loved their marriage of convenience and Owen seeing it as his opportunity to get her to fall in love. Even though she was already in love 🤭
The reality show was so fun and all the challenges and them living in that tiny camper was so cute! I loved how sweet Owen was to Brooke during the show and how he cared for her. When they were sick and he crawled to her just to comfort her was so sweet! And his “my wife” lines were pure perfection! All books need a yearning man 👌🏻
I loved seeing Jack and Dinah again! I just love them so much and seeing them as parents was so sweet!
I’m really hoping for Winnie’s or Emory’s book next because I NEED more of this family, their friends, and Honey Hill!

Head Over Wheels by B.R. Goodwin completely swept me off my feet in the softest, swooniest way. This is friends-to-lovers romance done right - tender, emotionally rich, and brimming with that quiet longing that sneaks up on you and refuses to let go. Brooke and Owen’s connection feels lived-in and real, layered with years of unspoken love, small-town roots, and the kind of chemistry that crackles in the pauses more than the declarations. Add in a marriage-of-convenience setup (my absolute favorite), witty banter, and a reality-show twist, and I was all in from page one, heart fully unguarded.

Love, fear, and vulnerability collide just when life throws its hardest curveballs. Owen’s devotion is steady and swoon-worthy, Brooke’s hesitations feel achingly human, and together they deliver all the feels. Sweet without being saccharine, romantic without being rushed, this book is a sigh-inducing reminder that sometimes the biggest risks are worth taking—especially when forever might be closer than you think.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
