A tale of star-crossed lovers bridging worlds, space, and Frankenstein
Hailey was my high-school crush, and I never gave up on us though we went our separate ways. Bleeding out in a chopper downed in battle, I spend my last moments thinking of the night I shipped out when I kissed her and marked her.
Tick, tock…Tick.
I wake to find I’m a monster in a stitched-together body and I cannot remember who I am.
When I climb the balcony of a house, I find a woman called Hailey grieving over the death of her father. I think I know her, and her father died months ago, yet he’s the man I was sent to murder.
Memories spin and click into place. This is my Hailey. Somehow, I’ve slipped between worlds and zigzagged past my own death.
I will not lose her again. I carry her out of the rain, pressing kisses on her, everywhere, until she begs for more of my rough handling.
Nothing will keep me from claiming her. Not even the demons whispering in my head.
This is a spicy, lighter-dark romance where a frankenstein monster slowly awakens to his true self.

This was such a fun read it was also seriously filthy but in the best way. There was the usual vein of humour with all of Hailey’s wacky new friends. It all takes place in Revenant where our girl has come home sometime after her father's death. When Kail is sent in on a mission he goes off plan managing somehow to ignore his programming. Something about Hailey is familiar and calls to him. So instead of hurting her he decides to protect her.
Hailey wants answers regarding her father’s death and Kail is determined to assist her. He’s a mish-mash of various parts put together to make what he is now, an experiment from the very company her father worked for but an alternate timeline and there are certain individuals out there that will stop at nothing to acquire him.
This was a story told in true Cari style it’s a wacky kinky mystery with a hot monster romance at its centre. Kail Stone and Hailey Tarrant are true star crossed lovers ripped apart but will come together in this life or the next. Here both manage to find each other again but under the most unlikely of circumstances.
Stitched together, torn apart, and bound by something deeper than memory.
Kail wakes up scarred, hunted, and trapped in a body made from others. Flashes of memory pull him toward Hailey, the woman he loved in another life, in another world. But she doesn’t know who he is, and her past might be tangled in his own.
Hailey’s grieving, guarded, and done being used. When a brutal, broken man crashes into her world, the truth she thought she knew begins to slip. She doesn't trust easily, but what sparks between them is raw, magnetic, and impossible to fake.
As Kail digs into who he was and what he’s become, they uncover the Institute’s twisted secrets: stolen lives, erased minds, and bodies turned into weapons. Their bond deepens, shifting from fear and control to something darker, fiercer, and real. Together, they’ll face monsters in suits and in themselves.
Kail’s journey from weapon to man is jagged and full of blood, but it's love that teaches him who he is. Hailey finds strength in the wreckage, fighting to take back her life and the truth. What starts as dangerous tension turns into a connection built on trust, vulnerability, and heat they can't ignore.
A dark, ultra-steamy, second chance, monster romance with touch her and die heat, broken memory, intense power exchange, and extreme kink, exploring identity, grief, trauma, obsession, control, justice, and love. It’s about reclaiming yourself after being broken and rebuilt, trusting someone with the sharpest parts of you, and choosing connection in a world that wants you erased. At its core, it’s a story of survival, twisted intimacy, and a bond that defies death, power, and time.
The Elevator Pitch: A resurrected soldier slips between worlds and finds the woman he was never meant to touch again. Their connection is dark, electric, and laced with obsession as they unravel buried truths and fight the forces that built him to destroy. It's a monster romance where memory twists, love burns, and nothing stays buried for long.
Wonderfully imaginative, fascinating and beautifully complex novel that completely captivated me. I was immediately swept into the author's superbly imagined world that was unique, original and darkly compelling. Superbly skillful writing that wove me into the intriguing intensely suspenseful plot. A plot peopled with a MMC that broke my heart and had me rooting for him for the very beginning, hoping for him to succeed in any way possible, by any means available. With a FMC who was intelligent, determined and beautiful as well as brave against ever mounting odds. Supporting characters that fleshed out the story, that added to the plot vs distracting from it. Villains that were deadly, powerful, loathsome and increasingly desperate to destroy the MMC/FMC. A darkly intense and sterling tale that superbly blends science, sizzling smex, mystery, suspense, danger; that effortlessly kept this reader on fascinated tenterhooks from the beginning the the end. A perfect read skillfully written to pull the reader deep into the story, make the reader care about the characters and outcome, that gouges their heart and wrenches emotions. A stellar read that enthralled this reader and I absolutely loved.
A fantasy monster romance with an ode to Frankenstein. Hailey is dead set on finding out what really happened to her father. She knew him well enough to know he didn’t go out on that boat. He’s left her clues around the house for her to figure out, as was their game when she was little. Kail, who was most definitely the highlight of this book, starts out trying to figure out how he knows the things he does. But feels like they’re from different places, which makes his character depth so intense. The opening chapter really sucked me in to this story. The descriptions to the characters and world around them were highly detailed, making you feel it through the pages. Mysterious institute, dark, dangerous and twisted things they were doing, and the suspense of what was going to happen next really kept me teetering on the edge. The special type of romance that developed and the spice were the perfect addition to the main plot.

This is like Beauty and the Beast at the start. Hailey and Kail knew each other from the past, but life goes. Hailey is back home after the death of her father. The next thing we know is that a man has been sewn up with different parts to make a huge man. The man doesn’t remember much of himself and in this new life, he is trained to kill. Unfortunately, he is sent to Kailey’s, house. He balks at the order when he gets there and sort of realizes she is special and then kills his handler instead. He doesn’t have all his memories. It’s like an erotic Beauty and the Beast. Hailey is just looking at this large man, and she is drunk and that doesn’t help. Instead of being afraid, she becomes aroused by him taking care of her. Together they try to piece together how her father was killed and why, as well as what is going with the secrets in the town. If you like spicy monster erotica, this is it.
Kail Stone is sent to Revenant to remove a threat named Simon Tarrant and maybe his daughter Hailey but something glitches and this monster goes rogue! The author has created Revenant, a town with “odd things” and equally odd characters. I really enjoyed this story. It captured my attention because I was thinking about the world & events the author was creating. Hailey was pretty burdened by her life and I enjoyed her stroppiness. Aside from the MMC being cobbled together from various body parts, he’s also amnestic. I liked the bits of memories that popped up & Kail trying to reconcile their origins. A fine story of secrecy, corruption and greed versus weird characters (who may or may not be alien) who will do whatever it takes for love. Now, about that dog—I’d love a sequel!
He awakens to find himself stitched together, a monster and he can't remember who he is, just bits and pieces of past memories. Hailey seems to be someone from his past, she is grieving over the death of her father, but something seems off to Kail. He defies his programing and instead chooses to keep her safe and the attraction between them is undeniable. Can he keep her safe from those who killed her father and those who want him back under their control? Entertaining take on Frankenstein with plenty of drama, suspense and sizzling chemistry. I liked the characters, and the twists and turns keep you hooked from beginning to end. I loved it!
What a cracking read for a gloomy January - a 'hero' who is really good for the libido! The book has Cari's trademark steamy spice - and importantly a really strong and enthralling storyline. If erotica and pure escapism had a baby it would be this book.
Kail, frankenstruct lost, afraid of what and who he was/is and whether his thoughts are truly his own. He also suspects he has somehow stepped into an alternative world. Hailey, grieving for her murdered father seeks revenge against a truly evil and despicable CEO. Together the pair must navigate the world they are in and find their happiness and justice (sort of) helped by their friends the 'weirdos' and maybe, just maybe by a squiggly alien!
I feel like this is the perfect mix of Beauty and the Beast meets Frankenstein. Dark Monster romance w/a touch her and die MMC. Storyline was original even though it was a sort of "retelling"… The adventure was top tier and the twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat. Great characters and wonderful storytelling. And the spice woooh yes pleaseeee. Definitely a win and must read.
If you love morally gray Monster MMCs that will kill for their woman this is the book for you.

The pieces Have to say no one could spin, the story of Frankie like Cari. Warped in a delightful way. So much happenings. Hearts from the past and a monster on a mission. then as they say 'best laid plans' Oh daddy what you been into. Our starts snoop a bit and uncover the dirtiest of dirt. A fab mix of drama and adventure. Throw a wee bit of dark and fold in the heat. Again standing "O" to you Ms. C
This is one of the most original books that I have ever read. The characters are so complex, compelling, and captivating. The storylines intersect and weave together with chilling subtleties. There are numerous tropes that enhances the storylines. The writing style added to the suspense mad this book addictive yet repelling at the same time. If I could I would give this book 10⭐️’s!
WOW... I thought I had the gist of it, but Cari Silverwood threw in a few surprises in this one that I didn't see coming. I thought it was a pretty straightforward sci-fi romance, but it's more complex than that. And if you know anything about her or her writing, you know you'll never be disappointed with her storytelling and especially not the bedroom tango. Hailey and Kail coming together was just FIRE!!! There is definitely a lot more to explore, so I hope she'll give us more!
Other than ending on a cliffhanger, this book is GREAT!!! Cari Silverwood writes excellent stories and combines it with very sexy scenes….what’s not to love??!!!
I hope there will be another book in this series soon.

Cari is a genius at several things: character building world building concept creating sensory description tension building conflict resolution scenes so erotic that I orgasm just reading them HEAs and killing off beloved innocent characters. I should have seen it coming and am surprised every single time she does that. Damn it, Cari.
Hailey comes home to deal with her father’s estate, confident that he’s been murdered. Kail has been programmed to kill Hailey, instead, he kills his handler and protects Hailey. And thus begins the story of murder, mystery, taboo spicy scenes, an odd cat and the Weirdos. I loved this wild ride - it’s equal parts completely familiar and a little bit bizarre, and the extreme heat between Hailey and Kail certainly raised my temperature! A terrific read.
Live,Death and Frankenstein was great!!! I haven't read many retellings of Frankenstein but if this is an example I will start now!! 😊😊So many mysteries to uncover in this small town. Hailey and Kail are guaranteed to find answers for the murder of Hailey's father. With Kail as her personal Terminator and sex🥵🥵 machine all that was lost will be found. I received an advanced copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I received an advanced copy of this book from the author through Book Sirens, and I am leaving my review voluntarily. For fans of monster romance, this one is a home run. Cari Silerwood does a fantastic job of grabbing the reader from the beginning with this Frankenstein-like retelling. Kail, the morally gray hero in this book, is our Frankenstein. I loved him. If you read this one, you'll see why. He is so bad, but it's not his fault. He is only the product of what so-called friends have made him.
Hailey and Kail were once so close to a relationship. But life happened. He thought she was with someone else, then he had to ship out with his military unit. Then Kail was injured and remembers very little of his previous life. When he next sees Hailey, he's been turned into an assassin sent to kill her father, and her if she gets in the way.
Great story with wonderful characters, terrific twists and turns, villains you'll love to hate, and plenty of steamy romance.
What attracted me to this book is the Frankenstein theme, which I have always found facsinating. Love, Death and Frankenstein is a fun and spicy read. I loved Kail and Hailey. Their bond grows deeper and stronger the more they work together to stop the people who are after him. The world building is incredible and very imaginitive. The plot is intense and the spice is hot. I loved every minute of it!
After her father's mysterious death, Hailey is determined to investigate the clues he left behind to get justice. When a dangerous, mutilated, monstrous man with a familiar name saves her from an apparent attacker, Hailey decides to trust him with her life and her body. Kail's mind is riddled with disjointed thoughts, memories, and directives. But deep inside he knows Hailey is special to him, and he refuses to stay away from her. If that means he has to confront his past, so be it.
Hailey is fairly certain her father's death is due to his work for the mysterious Institute. He's left lots of papers and notes eluding to a cache of information. And while she doesn't know who she can trust, Hailey is surprisingly open to a relationship with a strange man held together by suture and surgical staples. Her investigation is shockingly short, and she depends on other townspeople to help get true information about the Institute. Meanwhile Kail and herself largely hide and engage is spicy relations. Surprisingly, these spicy relations seem to actually solve some problems in the story. However, I struggled to emphasize with Hailey for the majority of the book, as she doesn't do much on her own, until the end.
The writing from Kail's perspective was very well done, with the occasional jarring thought and changes in behavior. The interplay of different pasts, sudden knowledge of skills, and dark urges made an intriguingly nuanced read. I just really struggled that he almost immediately determined he was from an alternate reality, as it seemed to be a weird assumption early on in the story.
Love, Death, and Frankenstein is a dark monster romance with themes of control and what exactly makes one a monster. A very spicy read.

No one writes such interesting books as this author does. That is why I enjoy her books so much. They are unique and do not seem to follow the same cookie cutter style genres that many authors write – mafia, billionaires, etc. Ms Silverwood’s books are different and refreshing for someone who is looking for something a little different. This book does not disappoint. Who knew you could make a suspenseful romance that included a Frankenstein?
There are lots of little things written/hidden within the story line that build to make a different story. If you read fast, you might miss some of them, but they are important to the story itself. But what is most important, it that the love between Kail and Hailey had for each other in the past, transcended the alternate timeline they now find themselves in. And the timeline they find themselves in together is fraught with danger and evil. As Hailey and Kail, dig deeper into the mystery surrounding the death of Hailey’s fathers and Kail’s creation it becomes clear that there is much more going on in Revenant that first thought. Enter the Weirdos Club meets regularly to figure out all the strange things that happen or are seen in and around Revenant. Who better to help Hailey and Kail? But the deeper they dig, the more they risk and it quickly becomes a question of whether any of them will live long enough to figure everything out. Even the love that Hailey and Kail have for each other might not be enough as Kail’s memories grow because his memories are not his alone.
This is a story of love lost, and love found in a place that defies what is normal. Very enjoyable.
The blurb of Love,Death and Frankenstein looked most delicious, but that’s usually the case with Cari Silverwood. Finding a review copy in my inbox gave me the opportunity to find out if the story really was that good…..and let me tell you,it was!! It has all the ingredients that i love about Cari’s stories….a solid storyline filled with enough twists and turns to keep you on your toes, wonderful characters as well as evil ones, and enough kinky stuff to get your rocks off. And there are mysterious, and to some loveable, pets that aren’t what they appear to be. It feeds into your fantasy with everything that happens, and holds you in it’s grip long after you finish.
The short explanation of this beauty, without giving away too much, is this: Kail lost Hailey in one life,Hailey lost him in another. They “find” eachother again when he,in a “newly constructed body” is sent to kill her father, and her,but ends up saving her instead. She initially may have seen him as the enemy, but it turns out he’s anything but. The real enemy is someone they know, though….and before they know it,they’ve got help with finding out what’s going on. Hailey,Kail and their friends then manage to expose some very nasty business. Business that cost her father his life in this time/world. They may think their sleuthing is done quietly, but the villain knows what they’re up to and will do anything to stop them. Does that mean they’re doomed to fail? Or will they find a way to defeat that villain, and his evil plans??
When I say twisted, I mean in more than the kinky, sexy way. Hailey's father was killed months ago, and yet an assassin has been sent to kill him and his daughter. Yet the assassin is a man/monster made up of parts and pieces of many others, and he has memories of Hailey, the girl he had a crush on in high school. But as Hailey dreams of revenge for her father's death, and secrets come into the light, the experiments that created Kail Stone, man and monster, took place in a world parallel to Hailey's, and the powers that be in her world want nothing more than to achieve the same results. Yikes, this is one heck of a thrill ride from start to finish. Kinky, sexy, and disturbing you will find it all in the pages of this book. I adored Hailey and her determination to avenge her father and put a stop to the experiments taking place and being performed in a local company where her father once worked. The fact that she is strong enough to go forward with her plans no matter the cost to herself makes her a very strong FMC. The MMC in this book is not only made monstrous in the way in which he was created, the fact that he is from a parallel world, and the fact that he won't and doesn't hesitate to kill anyone who would harm Hailey, the woman he loves, is a startling twist in the plot. I highly recommend this sexy, kinky, twisted, and quite dark urban fantasy romance to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary ARC provided by Book Sirens.
Cari is a new-to-me author, and the blurb intrigued me, and I'm now a fan of Frankenstructs. Hailey has returned to her hometown of Revenant after her father's death. Kail has been sent with his handler to Revenant to target Simon Hailey's father and Hailey herself. He finds they are too late; her father has already died. But memories flash back to Kail, and he cant bring himself to eliminate Hailey. The town of Revenant is full of secrets and strange people. Will Hailey and Kail find out the secrets and what is going on in the town, and bring the people at the top down. Will Kail's memories come back? Will Kail and Hailey ever get their HEA? I recieved an arc from Booksprout for my voluntary honest review for NN Book Blog. If you love a dark romance between a girl and her Frankenstruct, with lots of twists and turns, then you will love this book. I love the witty banter between Hailey and Kail have at times. However, this book may not be for everyone; therefore, please heed the author's trigger warnings before reading or purchasing.
Author Cari Silverwood is one of those storytellers I find to be an acquired taste and she became mine quite a few years ago.
Now with Love, Death and Frankenstein the reader can be certain the author has hit her kinky stride yet again.
Injured in a helicopter crash MMC Kail Stone wakes to find his memories are gone and that he is now a monster of cobbled together parts, used as a weapon to deal out death to his master’s targets. Where he once loved his MFC Hailey there is now only darkness until fate takes pity on him and they are brought together again.
A well written tortured hero narrative where Kail may or may not be existing in another timeline, but wherever he is Hailey has become his again in an erotic, violent, intriguing, twisty monster romance that will heat up those late nights.
An amazing standalone story that delivers an intoxicating, wicked naughty read with a few surprises along the way.

I found ‘Love, Death, and Frankenstein’ to be original. Refreshingly so. It won’t be for everyone. But, it was definitely for me. It has blood, guts, gore, sex—the yummy kind with kink, amnesia, major body modification, I mean the list goes on and on and on. That last chapter is just divine. Check out the triggers, if you’re good with those, read the book—it will not disappoint.
This is a monster, dark romance, mystery with fantasy aspects. Hailey is investigating her father's death. Along the way, Hailey meets a huge, Frankenstein, patchwork man/being who calls himself Kail. Everyone else called Kail a monster. Hailey accepted Kail from the start. Kail wants to protect Hailey. Kail doesn't know everything or who he's literally made out of. There are a lot of unusual things going on in this town. Hailey and Kail seem familiar to one another. Kail is like a monster who is very into kinky sex and BDSM. There is a particular scene involving spectators. I wondered did Kail go too far? I liked how posessive Kail was of Hailey. I absolutely adored the elderly neighbors who owned a bookshop and of course the squiggles.

All the fabulous filth you expect from Silverwood stitched together in an epically fun romance with a solid plot that kept me engaged and flipping the pages. A bit of a second chance at love romance 😏
Loved the little twists and "HOLY shittake" moments Strong supporting cast that brought so much to the storyline Had a blast spending time with this gang of misfits. Don't forget the evil villains that will have your hair standing on end and a desire to wield a hacksaw or two
Hailey was a strong female lead (as you come to expect from Cari's work) with a little streak of mischievousness Kail was so many levels of devious in his desires while still being wholly devoted to Hailey. Even if our girl didnt always see it that way
This is an adult read with some triggers Highly recommend!
In two seperate worlds, Hailey and Kail lost each other but in this alternate reality they found each other again. Destiny is pulling them together by the love they share. But in this version of life, Kail is pieced together with staples and sutures, like Frankenstein's monster.
Hailey has lost her father, Kail was sent to kill him. They both end up investing what's going on. Kail's memory is foggy and distorted but pieces slowly come back, he knows that Hailey means something to him and he stays with her.
The story has mystery, suspense, romance and spicy scenes.

This monster romance took me a while to get into, mainly because the world-building is quite complex and throws you right into a fully developed setting. At first, that felt a bit overwhelming, but once everything started to click, it was absolutely worth it. The story is intense, immersive, and very engaging once you’re settled into the world. The plot kept me invested, and by the end, I found myself genuinely enjoying the journey and the romance. This is also definitely a spicy read and very much not safe for work, so keep that in mind going in. If you enjoy monster romances with layered world-building, high intensity, and plenty of heat, this book is likely to be a great fit for you.

Ms. Silverwood has once again blown me away with her creativity, imagination, and willingness to think outside the box. This isn't your typical romance, and it's not overly dark. It's a mix of sci-fi, urban fantasy, thriller, and romance. It's original and engrossing from beginning to end.
I've been in a reading funk, but this just kicked me out of it. I read it in one sitting because I couldn't put it down, and I could have read more. The characters are amazing and complex, and even the Monster is believable in an unbelievable sort of way. The pace of the story is perfect and there were enough twists to keep me guessing. I would love to dissect the story, but I'm not one for spoilers, so I'm just going to say everyone should read this!!
