What Darcy's Dog Knew is a charming, delightful Pride and Prejudice variation! This well written variation is short enough to read in an afternoon and perfect when you need an escape. Caractacus, Darcy's enormous Irish wolfhound, immediately claims Lizzie as his person. This 168 pound dog makes an excellent matchmaker. Caractacus captured and kept my attention while I enjoyed this version of the timeless tale!
It was so enticing that I couldn’t put it down, this book grabbed my interest from the very first page. I couldn’t put it down, I had to know what happened next. The story is well written with a very good storyline. You will see the most beloved characters in a whole new way. This is a Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice variation. This is part of the ‘Darcy and Elizabeth Forever: Pride and Prejudice Variations’ series. All books are standalone reads and can be read in any order.

Also, Elizabeth must ask herself an uncomfortable question, if a creature who cannot lie sees something worthy in Mr. Darcy, might she have been wrong about him all along? So with all that and more this story pulls you in and holds you tight. It’s a must read. I highly recommend to everyone.
Whenever there is a dog involved there is always hijinks, loyalty and love. This novella has all those great aspects to it and proves once again that the love an animal can share will ultimately bring two people together. A very nice quick read for a cold day. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This novella is written for a lover of P&P and dogs. Large ones. Short as it is, the story was complete and had a satisfying ending. I listened to the audio version which was done by virtual voice. That is never great but this female voice is one of the better virtual narrators. I liked the low angst story well enough to enjoy listening to it despite the mediocre narration.
Why ever did Jane Austen not think to add a wolfhound to Pride and Prejudice? The dog is just what Darcy and Elizabeth need to overcome their multitude of misconceptions.
Very cute. At Rosings, Darcy's Irish Wolfhound decides that Elizabeth is His Person. Then they just need to get over their misunderstandings to do what the dog wants - namely for his two favorite people to get together!
Loved how Darcy and Elizabeth bond over Darcy's dog- an Irish wolfhound with a mind of his own. He is really the star of this book but it makes for a wonderful read.
