Benjamin Burke left small-town Serenity Point—and the heartbreak of his teenage romance—behind for a successful life in New York City. Years later, with his father’s health in decline and an invitation to help run a basketball clinic, he returns home for the first time in ages.
Amelia Madden once sacrificed everything, including her high school boyfriend, to chase Olympic figure-skating gold. She reached the elite level but never the top of the podium. Now chronic pain has ended her career, forcing her to rebuild a quieter life in Serenity Point, the only place she’s ever known.
Ben barely recognizes the vibrant girl he once loved in the weary woman he meets again. Neither is looking for romance—yet an unexpected friendship forms. Different fears hold them back, but as their feelings change, they must decide whether to risk their hearts a second time or to let the constraints of their lives get in the way of a future together.

It is sad to be at the end of another amazing series (or two series) but I haven't read a book that I haven't enjoyed immensely yet! Ben is the type of man you dream that your daughter will find to marry one day so to any guys reading this be sure to read and learn! ;) I felt like I could relate with Amelia so well as I'm going through some of my own health issues but it made me thankful for the health I do have despite the struggles. I find these books always so relatable and encouraging! I couldn't recommend these books more to those who enjoy sweet romances, real life trials and keeping God at the center of it all.
Wow! Quite the book to end the Halverson/Burke family series! It will make more sense if you've read at least the first two Burke books and understand who all the characters are and their relationships with each other.
I really appreciate Jordan's sensitive and careful depiction of what it's like to live with a debilitating auto-immune disease, as well as what it's like for those who love the person with the disease.
And I always enjoy her relatively slow-paced stories that are contemplative and deep - a nice change from some fast and furious books I've read recently.
I have read every book by this author, and she is definitely one of my favorites! I love reading series of books where we learn more about each character. This book has encouraging lessons of faith and trust, especially in the dark times of trouble when it's hard to see God's hand at work and to trust He is really in loving control of our lives. I highly, highly recommend each one of this author's books! She tackles real problems of today with understanding & compassion.
This story hit home . I have a mussel problem good day and bad days . I refuse to let it rule me which is good became a doctor said most people like me don't live past 21 well at 34 I was re tested same thing . weight is worse on me and as you get o See its harder to lose. But keep moving . at 61 years old and working on 40 years of marriage . I thank God everyday I wake up and before I go two sleep , been bless 3 sons , 3 grandkids.
Great ending to this series. It's helpful to read the first 2 books in this series to know who all the characters are. In Benjamin, Jordan gives readers more about their backstories now that Benjamin and Amelia, who shared a history, are adults. Jordan also tackles the topic of autoimmune diseases. Great read.
As someone who deals with mystery pain and fatigue, this book hit very close to home. I can't say enough about how well this story handled a delicate issue and the emotions involved. Well done! I would love to know what Amelia's diagnosis was...
The story shows how you can overcome struggles in your life with the love and faith in God and love of people. Also shows even when we distant ourselves from God He doesn't leave us. Life isn't simple or easy but with God you can get through and thrive.
