You've Got Alien Mail #6

Hazardous Materials

Rate this book
Some hazardous materials may cause dizziness, euphoria, and uncontrollable desire I came to document safety violations—not get biochemically bonded to the galaxy’s most accident-prone courier. But Crash Maxone doesn’t match his file. His reflexes are lethal. His survival rate is impossible. And every piece of my equipment panics when he’s nearby.

I suspect contamination. I’m not wrong.

When his past catches up in the form of a seven-foot Exoscarab gladiator, Crash’s combat secretions collide with something far worse—Velogian mate-recognition pheromones. Now we’re bonded, unable to be more than ten feet apart without severe physical consequences.

My objectivity is shot. My instruments think he’s a compatible partner. And my body is learning exactly what “hazardous materials” means when it craves an alien warrior who moves like liquid death and smells like starlight and sin.

The safety inspector was not part of the plan.

For three years, I’ve stayed ahead of Thek-Ka—the gladiator hunting me across the sector to finish our championship death match. My “accidents” aren’t clumsiness. They’re survival. My biology is designed to repel humans.

Zola doesn’t recoil. She studies me. Challenges me. Stays.

When my defenses fail and we bond, she thinks it’s temporary. That she can science her way out of fate. She doesn’t understand that when she chose me—when she saw worth instead of danger—she sealed it.

I will protect her. I will claim her. And I will show her exactly what happens when a Velogian warrior finds his mate.

Mine to guard.
Mine to keep.
Mine.

Hazardous Materials is a high-heat alien romance featuring a deadly Velogian gladiator hiding as a courier and the competent safety inspector whose equipment keeps trying to warn her—but maybe for the wrong reasons.

Another installment in the OOPS intergalactic courier series by Lara Roth, this novella centers on Zola, an extremely by the book human OOPS inspector, and Crash, an alien OOPS courier who spent years as a fierce gladiator but who just wants to be left alone. Crash earned a visit from Zola after numerous other couriers had literal toxic events occur while in his presence. He immediately recognizes her as his mate, but resists as much as he can until an old enemy threatens them both.

This was such a cute addition to the series! The twist about fated mates who actually try to break the bond was a nice change of pace from the usual frenzied, “oh well” sort of approach, and I was here for it. Also, who knew an anxiety blob creature would steal the show? Zola’s staggering competence as well as Crash’s insistence upon her maintaining autonomy over her life and being are so appreciated.

I was fortunate to have received an advance reader copy from the author, and I’m pleased to share my honest review.

Hazardous Materials, is another installment in the OOPs intergalactic delivery series by Lara Roth and this Novella with Zola and Krash, instead of the status quo the author decided like most talented authors do to mix it up what a great result it made. Zola is a steadfast inspector and does her duty and due diligence but from her first meeting with crash she immediately knows something is different. Krash is a fierce warrior and feels it as well but unlike other books in they are mating will not go as smoothly as others the loss have to fight off a gladiator who feels slighted because he never finished his battle with crash so there’s that. I love this author’s books so much I don’t even have to read the summary when I see her name I just know it’s going to be good and I haven’t been wrong yet. This is part of a series but the book is definitely a standalone and it’s one I definitely recommend.#BookSprout, #TheBlindReviewer, #MyHonestReview,

This was hysterically, sarcastically, chaotically brilliant!!!

If you wanted fluffy spicy nonsense alien romance???(absolutely nothing wrong with that btw) but you’re in the WRONG place🥰🤗
However, if you’ve ever worked in a bureaucracy and found yourself translating your whole life into sarcastic versions of bureau-speak….AND you love a snarky, brilliant and feisty FMC….AND you love steamy alien/human romance, sexual-tension during life and death battles…. Sentient emotional support blobs that are invested in your happiness…. AI systems that are also seemingly invested in your personal romantic success… And a MMC who is hunky, golden, scaled, secretly sweet, and a chaotic disaster…. Then THIS is your JAM!!!

I received an ARC copy of this book from the author and this is my unbiased review.

I absolutely LOVED this story!!!

Another story by this author of this series (they are stand-alones, so they don't need to be read in order) that I thoroughly enjoyed. Loveable characters, a dangerous journey, accidentally bonding with the subject/client in the middle of a fight to the death, sassy AI, and a cute little sidekick/pet.

Our MMC is an ex-alien gladiator turned courier with a list of safety violations, while our FMC is a stubborn safety inspector coming in to check why every other safety inspector has said the MMC is a biological hazard.

The whole story has a funny light feel to it with plenty of sexual tension and quite a few spicy scenes. This is an ARC I was fortunate enough to receive directly from the author, and I'm so happy I got that chance. I think my favourite part of this series is that the courier company's name is OOPS. Fits quite well.

Book six of the "𝑌𝑜𝑢'𝑣𝑒 𝐺𝑜𝑡 𝐴𝑙𝑖𝑒𝑛 𝑀𝑎𝑖𝑙" series by Lara Roth.

Zola, our FMC, is a safety inspector working for the Orion Outpost Postal Service (OOPS). She's never the one to break the rules, who follows instructions, and documents everything. This is her last chance to succeed in her next inspection, or else she'll be transferred to a Core World Post. A position she wants to avoid as best as she can. She doesn't approve of the courier she's meeting to inspect, Crash. His file is troubling. But upon her first meeting with him, her reaction is anything other than professional, and it doesn't help that he also reacts strongly to her psychical proximity, her scent. Suddenly, a past enemy ambushes Crash, indirectly involving her as well. With no choice but to fight Thek-Ka, they stick together and try to fight him. But in the process of doing so, he accidentally bonds her. How will he explain himself, and will she accept him? Will they escape the threat unscathed? Will they at last face their love for each other?

Zola's character at first is bland, but as we get to know her, we find out that she's got in depth. She has strong will, doesn't judge a book by its cover, and is brave, even when her own life is implicated in Crash's dangerous situation. Her reaction at times is understandable: she wants a calm and predictable and safe life. There is nothing to do with danger and risks, but in comes this alien man who turns her world upside down. It's a lot to adjust to, but she does her best. And when she opens up about her past, you finally understand why she is they way she is.

Crash is our MMC, and for the OOPS as a courier, who used to be an ex-gladiator. The way he tries to hide his attraction towards her is endearing and funny. The man is sweating profusely as if the sun is hitting him directly - and there IS no sun in sight. Stuttering his words in a panic! Bless him! He's possessive, caring when he needs to be, and at times incredibly protective and ferocious. Especially when he is ready to sacrifice everything for her bodily autonomy, absolutely. (He has extendable fangs and claws and used to be an ex-gladiator. SO HAWT.) He also shows rawness, vulnerable moments that make my heart break for him...

“Please.” The word comes out rough, almost desperate. “Please do not fear me.” (Oh, my shaylaaa!😭💔)

Jitters, the alien sentient blob is absolutely adorable and the star of the show! I think it's a perfect addition and brings such adorable moments in. Surprisingly, it goes through character development, too. How cute? He deserves a 🧸! Such a fascinating li'l blobby thing and full of personality. KiKi, the ship's Ai, is such a pleasure to have and the commentaries by it, especially the matchmaking aspect of it all. Mother Morrison is a scream: such a fantastic addition also.

The only thing I don't like is the overflowing of details from the start. It's just overloaded with words, too much all at once, and find it confusing to follow along, but that's just a me thing, so don't let it deter you. I find myself having to return to the first chapter a few times to get a strong hold on what is being said. By page twenty-one, I finally get into it.

Overall, the supportive family aura is absolutely heartwarming in the courier system. The unexpected/unpopular twist about the FMC and MMC not just 'going-with-the-flow' regarding the accidental bonding, which actually does makes sense considering the circumstances, and how they try to actually study/learn more about it. The forced proximity is something else here.

Oh, and I never want to face an Exoscarab. Ever. I will, however, accept a cup of coffee by my bestie, Jitters.

From somewhere nearby comes a pleased warbling sound, and we both look up to find Jitters oozing across the deck toward us with determined purpose. He’s carrying two cups of coffee balanced carefully on pseudopods, glowing happy pink and vibrating with what I’m beginning to recognize as satisfaction that his matchmaking efforts are bearing fruit.
“He made coffee,” Zola observes. (JITTERS! WHAT A CUTIEBOO!☕🥹❤️)

Expected release is on the 3rd of February next month, so not long to go. If you like an alien romance with a sci-fi twist, fated mates bond and forced proximity, action and adventure thrown in with high stakes, love and healing, and more, then this one if for you.

Embracing the chaos!

Zola Cross is former military. On her last mission, her entire squad of six was killed after the top military official decided the risk of the death of the squad was acceptable. She blames herself for not refusing the mission instead of following orders.

That experience is the reason why she's now such a hard-nosed safety inspector. If the rules state exactly how something is to be done, she wants those rules to be followed every single time exactly as written. There will be no shortcuts resulting in a death on her watch! This was BEFORE meeting Crash.

Zola has been contacted by Madge “Mother” Morrison from Junction One's dispatch center. Mother's in charge of OOPS, Orion Outpost Postal Service. The company excels at delivering all sorts of packages, even the dangerous ones, anywhere, including war zones.

Mother reports that three top-notch inspectors have had to be emergency evacuated due to an "imminent threat assessment" due to "hostile biological contamination" after boarding Crash's ship.

If Mother personally recommends a specific somebody for an assignment, it means it's worse than officials have indicated, and she trusts you to not make the situation worse. Zola hopes that this will hold true this time, too.

All three inspectors were seasoned inspectors. They lasted six hours at most after being exposed to Crash Maxone. All of them declared Crash's ship to be “an uncontained biological hazard requiring quarantine protocols.”

Most unusual indeed, but Zola has developed a theory. It's a combination of the other inspectors being male and their equipment having too little data on Velogians. She must do research!

Crash Maxone is a gorgeous Velogian warrior who once fought as "The Golden Viper" in the Nexus Pits, an illegal gladiator circuit. His last opponent was Thek-Ka, an Exoscarab with four arms, natural armor, and jaws that can crush steel. Their last fight was interrupted, and now Thek-Ka, a death warrior, is there to kill Crash in order to redeem his honor. That is the way of his culture. Now because Zola has accidentally bonded with Crash, Thek-Ka is duty-bound to kill her, too. He'll even kill Jitters, a Junglix, which is a sentinel blob-like creature that's Crash's companion—almost like a therapy companion.

Crash has never known any species to react as quickly to Velogian pheromones as Zola did. Velogian exposure to humans is almost nonexistent. He's very ashamed of his lack of self-control that caused her to be bonded to him without her first giving her consent. Velogian courtship traditionally has three parts. First is a formal presentation between the possible couple. This is followed by careful negotiation of the couple's compatibility. Then, and only then, is there proper medical supervision of the bonding process. Nothing like the flying by the seat of their pants "courtship" between Zola and Nash.

Research. She must do research, lots and lots of research. He admits that Velogian-human bonding is so rare that there is no data. Being ten feet apart is enough to cause great physical pain for both of them, but even more so for Zola.

KiKi, the AI navigation and communication system aboard Zola's ship, The Precision, is more than happy to be a couples therapist for Zola and Crash. Later, she even starts a betting pool concerning them. Jitters, the Junglix that Crash rescued and adopted as a hatchling, is also dedicated to bringing Zola and Crash together and keeping them together.

Thek-Ka's sense of honor may demand the deaths of Crash, Zola, and even Jitters, but he has to adhere to the rules of honor, too. He must allow Zola to be given an opportunity to break the bond with Crash before he kills her.

There definitely is a code of honor concerning Zola and Crash's romance. But a bonding of a human and a Velogian is so rare that it will be talked about for ages to come. They just hope they can stay alive long enough to enjoy the bond and make many more memories! If Thek-Ka doesn't kill them, Mother may.

Hopefully, by the time Thek-Ka does return, they will have discovered a way for their bond to have developed enough to defeat him instead of the bond killing them. No matter what happens, Mother is NOT going to be happy!!

Hazardous Materials by Lara Roth is the kind of sci-fi romance that grabs you by the lapels, shoves you into forced proximity, and then cheerfully announces that science, fate, and pheromones have all decided you’re not leaving untouched.

Zola is a by-the-book safety inspector for the Orion Outpost Postal Service—competent, cautious, and hanging onto her career by a thread. Crash Maxone is a courier with a suspiciously catastrophic track record, a file full of red flags, and a body that reacts to Zola like she’s a walking system override. From their very first meeting, nothing behaves as it should: her equipment panics, his control slips, and reality starts flashing warning signs neither of them fully understands.

What begins as a routine inspection spirals into chaos when Crash’s past comes charging back in the form of a deadly gladiator enemy—and an accidental biochemical bond neither of them wanted, planned, or is prepared to accept. The resulting forced proximity is deliciously intense, equal parts hilarious, stressful, and sizzling, especially as Zola insists on studying the bond instead of surrendering to it, and Crash fights every instinct telling him she’s already his.

The character work here shines. Zola initially seems all rules and restraint, but her depth, bravery, and refusal to judge Crash by appearances make her an incredibly grounded heroine. Her need for predictability and safety feels earned, and watching her world tilt off its axis—without her losing herself—was deeply satisfying. Crash, meanwhile, is a standout MMC: lethal, vulnerable, adorably flustered, and fiercely respectful of Zola’s autonomy even when every biological instinct is screaming otherwise. His mix of possessiveness and restraint is chef’s kiss.

Add in found family vibes within the courier network, a matchmaking ship AI with opinions, a scene-stealing sentient alien blob (Jitters deserves all the love), and a plot that gleefully balances action, humor, and heat, and you’ve got a novella that’s both wildly entertaining and emotionally grounded. The pacing ramps up fast, the stakes feel real, and the bond—once accepted—lands beautifully.

Hazardous Materials is chaotic in the best way: smart, steamy, action-packed, and unexpectedly heartfelt. If you love competent heroines, dangerous alien heroes who fall hard, accidental bonding, and sci-fi romance that doesn’t take itself too seriously while still delivering emotional payoff, this one is absolutely worth the risk.

Deadly alien courier. Rule-obsessed inspector. Neither planned to fall. ‍

Zola follows protocols. She’s here to document safety hazards, not lose control. But nothing in her training prepares her for Crash, an alien OOPS courier whose file is a walking red flag. Her scanners glitch. Her AI warns her off. Her body? It forgets the rules.

Crash has spent three years surviving alone, keeping his instincts locked down and his past buried. He never planned to bond, especially not with the sharp-tongued inspector who challenges him at every turn. But proximity ignites something stronger than biology, and instincts don’t wait for permission.

Now they’re linked by a bond that punishes distance and rewards contact. The ship’s small, the tension’s tight, and what starts as survival starts to look a lot like something more. They’ll dodge asteroid fields, confront old enemies, hack bureaucratic nightmares, and rely on one twitchy shapeshifting blob who’s not emotionally ready for any of it.

Zola learns to loosen her grip, trade control for trust, and lead with instinct when the rules fall short. Crash learns that strength isn’t just survival, it’s letting someone in. Together, they build a bond that starts with chaos but grows into choice, respect, and something they both have to fight to keep.

A high heat, forced proximity, grumpy sunshine, alien human romance packed with accidental bonding, secret identity, touch her and die tension, and one extremely anxious blob. It’s about identity, trust, control, adaptation, intimacy, resilience, and choice. At its core, it’s about a courier who never expected to be seen and an inspector who finally lets herself fall for the one person she was warned to avoid.

The Elevator Pitch: A steamy sci-fi romance where a rule-obsessed inspector gets biochemically bonded to a lethal alien courier with secrets in his blood. Their connection is dangerous, their chemistry explosive, and staying apart isn’t an option. Packed with heat, chaos, and tension that turns into something real.

Safety inspector Zola Cross and alien courier Crash Maxone are forced into a permanent biological bond when a combat encounter triggers intense "mate-recognition" pheromones. Though Zola initially views their attraction as a hazardous biochemical accident, she must grapple with an irresistible physical craving for the lethal warrior. Meanwhile, Crash abandons his life as a lonely survivor to fiercely claim and protect Zola, turning a scientific catastrophe into a primal, fated connection they can no longer escape.

In the sixth installment of Lara Roth’s You've Got Alien Mail series, the high-stakes world of the Orion Outpost Postal Service (OOPS) gets a spicy, pheromone-fueled upgrade. The story follows a by-the-book safety inspector who meets her match in a legendary courier—a man known for taking suicidal routes and delivering the galaxy's most "untouchable" packages. While he usually scares off even the most seasoned inspectors, this duo is thrown into chaos by a pheromone overload that turns a professional evaluation into a "mine forever" soul-bond. Featuring Roth's signature detailed world-building and a charming companion who communicates through shifting colors, this is an irresistible ride for fans of the fated-mates trope.

The Conflict: A rigid inspector vs. a fearless OOPS courier.
The Charm: A lovable color-communicating companion.

Zola is a brilliant and competent safety inspector who finds herself accidentally bonded to Crash, a lethal and fiercely protective alien gladiator whose biology has forced them together. The forced-proximity trope is in full effect with a literal ten-foot separation limit that makes even the most mundane moments—like bathroom breaks and sleeping in a one-person ship—complicated.

Zola isn’t just a damsel in distress; her scientific mind and piloting skills make her a true partner to Crash. Crash is sweet, caring, and determined to let Zola choose him on her own, not just because of his mating pheromones. Watching him try to navigate human courtship and do right by her was completely endearing.

The story is creative and fun, including anxious shapeshifting sentient blobs and matchmaking AI. A great read for anyone looking for a sci-fi romance with a solid plot that still brings all the heat and that 'he falls first' energy. Even though it is part of a series, Hazardous Materials can be read as a standalone.

Another spectacular read from You've Got Alien Mail.
Zola and Crash's story is a very wonderful journey through biochemically bonding. During a stressful situation with Exoscarab gladiator wanting to settle a debt.
Crash is so cute, he is a well known gladiator from his past. But he is gentle and shy and slightly clumsy in the cutest way. And very protective when it comes to his mate. Love his pet Jitters he is a totally adorable blob who vibrates, purrs and changes colors with his emotions.
Zola is strong, determined and very good at her job.
And now Crash and Zola are stronger together bonded fully.
This story is exciting, suspenseful, full of danger and action packed with twists that kept me turning the pages. And their connection is undeniable and steamy with a bond that is so strong and beautiful.
I enjoyed this book very very much. The HEA is fantastic.
Lara does not disappoint.
I highly recommend this book and this series. And now I'm excited for Dove's story next.
I love these Alien Romance stories. They are definitely must reads.

This story is dual POV, fantastically written and edited, and a fast-paced, rollicking, action focused, steamy and intense, sci fi romantic comedy between Zola, the female human safety inspector lead, and Crash, the male alien space courier lead who she has been sent to investigate. I laughed at the absolute craziness of this plot, including one very steamy and absolutely insane intimate scene that left me both giggling and interested in trying it out… I empathised with both characters’ historical trauma. I enjoyed Zola’s genuine focus on safety, and her capacity to accurately analyse situations. I enjoyed Crash’s physical competence, and his willingness to sacrifice everything for Zola’s autonomy. I adored the steamy scenes that contributed to the relationship building. I found the sentient alien blob companion cute and enjoyed seeing character development for it too. I enjoyed the supportive family found in the courier network. I adored the ending.

Zola and Crash . . .

As part of her job, Zola Cross is tasked with an inspection in order to document safety violations. Apparently the attention is on Crash Maxone who appears to be seriously accident-prone. It's not actually lots of "accidents" but rather his intention to avoid capture by a huge Exoscarab gladiator named Thek-Ka who has been chasing him in order to complete their "unfinished business", a championship match the enemy hopes will lead to Crash's demise. But Zola's unexpected presence instead activates Crash's Velogian mate-recognition pheromones and he becomes biochemically bonded to his mate... Zola. It is of course permanent, and they are forced to remain no further than 10 feet from each other at all times. In theory, his kind should repel humans, but she is instead fascinated with him, and now it will last forever.

The story has humor and delightful characters, a definite fun read! Grab your copy and see whether Crash can survive a human without losing his mind!

Leave Mother to get Zola and Crash together - she is a genius! (sidenote - Mother deserves her own book)

Zola is a safety inspector and after several worrysome reports from several traumatized inspectors, she is assigned to the most successful carrier in OOPS, Crash.

Jitters stole the show, he is my new Olaf.

The chemistry between Crash and Zola is the best I have read in a while.

Kiki was just the best, cracking me up the whole book - if the future of AI is like that, sign me up!

Overall, You've Got Alien Mail gets better and better - introducing Dove at the end left me counting the days to read her story

-------spoilers now ------------

I really enjoyed and loved this book because apart from the great reading experience Lara Roth delivers, the bonding is accidental for both of them, happens early in the book and the plot extends from there.

----------end of spoilers ---------.

This book is another delightful addition to the You’ve Got Alien Mail series and a joy to read from start to finish. It keeps the light, fun tone the series is known for, while still telling a story that feels meaningful and emotionally grounded.
The romance develops in a sweet and engaging way, and the interactions between the characters are both entertaining and heartfelt. What really stood out to me, though, was the underlying message: how empathy, openness, and understanding toward other beings can quite literally make the difference between life and death. That theme is woven into the story in a natural way, without ever feeling heavy-handed.
Overall, this was a lovely, uplifting alien romance with humor, warmth, and a surprisingly thoughtful core. A great read for fans of the series and anyone who enjoys feel-good sci-fi romance with heart.

Another lovely HEA from Lara Roth. It is quick paced and the characters are well developed, funny and thoroughly enjoyable. You will want a front row seat to the combat scenes and you can almost taste the scents of romance on your tongue.

Mother must be getting tired of telling her couriers to behave themselves but this time its one of her most straight-laced safety inspectors that falls to cupids arrow. And the courier in question is horrified that he has bonded to a human unwillingly and will do anything to free her - even if it kills him. Honour, duty and decency demands it.

This is a sexual explicit novel and it should be read best by those 18+ and there are scenes that may offend people. Also, please be aware that there are giant bugs in this novel - so if you have an aversion to insects this may not be triggering for you. Don't worry I'm sure there is a muscle bond alien somewhere that will happily protect and sooth your concerns - somewhere in the galaxy!

I love the OOPS stories. Each one is it's own complete story. But reading the other books gives you the a wider picture of Mother and the operation of OOPS. This couple is night and day from each other. She is an inspector that will settle for nothing less than perfect. He is -was a gladiator death fighter. And Chaos is his middle name. Together they are oil and water. But.... it is that combination that makes for an interesting story. And one of the hottest claiming scenes ever!!! Jitters- oh I love him !!!! And the ships AI has her own personality as well. Together this group is funny, chaotic and yet they get the job done. The fighting scene was a turning point in their relationship and it was touch and go there. Mother was well Mother- her gruff self yet that kindness still shone. She is the one character that is in every book.
Great story looking forward to reading the next one!.

Mother Morrison has done it again. She has sent Zola to do a safety inspection on Crash, the disaster courier. The accidental biochemical bonding of these two has to be his greatest disaster yet. The sidekicks, Jitters, Crash's anxiety blob and Kiki, Zola's romantically intrigued AI. These two take this story to another level. The discovery of love and respect between zola and crash is just so much fun. The way they discover how they sync and work together is a joy to read. These two are fantastic, honestly each and every book gets better. I think I cant possibly love the next book or the next couple more than the last and proven wrong every time. And it thrills me. I am so looking forward to Dove and Cetus, I know it will be amazing.
Lara Roth, please keep these stories coming. I am addicted.

The OOPs Series Continues to Highly Entertain!!

Every book in this series is exceptional. They each have their own eccentricities - so are not cookie cutter, other than the main character works as a courier. This is my new favorite - it happens every time I read one of these.

The “hazardous material” the other couriers experienced, is actually a perfect match for main character Zola. Before she knows it, she is bound to Crash Malone. Turns out that’s not all bad. Crash has been evading a duel for years, but now his pursuer is closing in.

We have the snarky AI, and in this case a delightful “blob” who adds so much to the story. Always original, always entertaining, always scintillating, these are the best!

Hazardous Materials is a flirty, fast-paced sci-fi romance that delivers heat, humor, and alien charm in equal measure. Lara Roth continues the You’ve Got Alien Mail series with a story that’s fun, imaginative, and easy to devour.

The sci-fi setting adds a playful twist to the romance, and the chemistry between the characters sparks quickly and convincingly. The story balances steamy moments with lighthearted banter and just enough tension to keep the pages turning. The pacing is spot-on for a shorter read, making this a perfect one-sitting escape.

I’d highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy steamy sci-fi romance with humor, creative alien elements, and a strong focus on chemistry. If you’re looking for something sexy, entertaining, and delightfully escapist, Hazardous Materials is a great pick.

first and foremost this book requires at least 2 brain cells. I got like 30 pages in and was so lost. I had to restart and slow down. Actually take the time to process because it is wordy. The story is compelling and engaging. It's just very detailed oriented. The spice was medium not as spicy as you would think with a telepathic bond but nonetheless delightful. There was plenty of plot back story/world building. it did say it could be read as stand alone but it gave vibes that I was missing something. I haven't read the rest of the series. I received this as an arc and am under no obligation to leave a review. Instead of going back and reading the whole series I thought I'd test it by jumping in here. Little details I noticed but nothing huge that would take from the story.

Hazardous Materials is a You’ve Got Alien Mail story and the sixth book in this fun Sci-fi romance series.
MFC Zola has been sent to perform an inspection where all who have gone before have failed. The reason is Crash Maxone an accident prone courier.
But when she arrives for her assignment Zola has to reassess the mission because Crash is nothing like his reputation, and this Velogian warrior just might have found his mate, in her!
Enjoyed this newest book in the series which has been good reading with fun romantic adventures, spicy naughtiness, lovely writing, wonderful characters, surprises, danger, action, chaos, and all around captivating reading.

Book 6 of the You've Got Alien Mail series. Can be read as a standalone.

'Hazardous Materials is a high-heat alien romance featuring a deadly Velogian gladiator hiding as a courier and the competent safety inspector whose equipment keeps trying to warn her—but maybe for the wrong reasons.'The characters drove the storyline and they were so very appealing and likeable and quirky and perfectly steamy together. Plot was intriguing and well paced. World building continues to excel and be solidly drawn. Another great addition to the series. Enjoyed immensely and highly recommend.

“Hazardous Materials: A Steamy Sci-Fi Romance” by Lara Roth

-This fast-paced OOPS installment pairs ultra-competent safety inspector Zola with Crash, a deadly ex-gladiator courier who falls hard and fast. I received a free copy and am voluntarily sharing my honest thoughts.

Their resistance to an accidental fated-mate bond is refreshing, layered with forced proximity, danger, and genuine emotional growth. Jitters the sentient anxiety blob, the sassy AI, and the found-family vibe add humor and heart.

Smart, steamy, and action-packed, this standalone sci-fi romance delivers strong characters, big feelings, and satisfying heat.

Another pleasurable story in the OOPS you got alien mail series. I'd loved this story that is about the noted Crash Maxone a Velogian warrior who's been marked as biological hazardous by three previous inspectors but comes out clean and healthy and his ship is tiptop worthy and Zola Cross our safety inspector whose been assigned to look into the matter. What occurs is an entertaining story that captivated me in this fated mate romance adventure story. Loved our characters and their chemistry simmers upon meeting with Zola's AI KiKi trying to match mate them. I'd volunteer to read and review this enjoyable copy I'd received

Book 6 of You've Got Alien Mail story of Zola and Crash. This one had me giggling and laughing at the shifter, the ship computer, Zola and Crash as they find themselves in the wildest and craziest situations that had me turning the pages to find out what happened next. This is definitely an adventure worth reading. I so want the next book if the sneak peak is anything to go on I will find that one just as entertaining as this one was.

Hazardous materials in more than one way is appropriately named but I’m not gonna give away why because where’s the fun in that… it’s about discovering it for yourself !😉

Zola and Crash’s story is one of the better You’ve Got Alien Mail books ! We have an unexpected bonding, an homicidal scarab type alien on the warpath and the cutest little sidekick in Jitters. The sex is also hot as the sun and the dialogue is good and snarky ! We get our needed dose of Mother Morrison ( she’s a hoot ) and a quick look at the next book , which I can’t wait to read ! 5✨’s.

ARC review:

Instant bonding, under duress, with a squishy sidekick.

Jitters is probably my favorite character ever, everyone needs a jitters on their side.

This installment of OOPS was really good. The characters were lovable, he was very much not your traditional alpha male, trying to let everything go at her pace. He even looked up human courtship via human romance smut novels which was amazing.

This installment also sets you up for the next book in the series with a glimpse of what’s to come.

Hazardous Materials is a fun space adventure featuring golden scaled male Crash and human female inspector Zola. He gets turned on by her expert ability, starting an involuntary bonding and astounding mating as they are fleeing from his old arena opponent through a dangerous meteor field. These two drive poor Mother crazy with their rule breaking and expert package delivery.
