Some losses break you. Until a second chance at love pieces, you back together. CHASE One fateful night, my life derailed in the worst way possible. I never thought I’d recover. Instead, I put one foot forward, biding my time until I was no longer walking this earth. That all changed when I found a home with the Crowthorne Chapter of the Crow MC. They understood loss and refused to let me drown in my grief. Without me even realising it, I slowly healed under their care. A chance meeting at an airport changed my life again—this time, in a way I welcomed. We’d known each other as teenagers. Experienced similar loss. Understood each other in a way that was hard to explain. She was my second chance at love. Now all I had to do was convince her this was more than a holiday fling.
Mature romance that is intended for readers of 18 years and older. This book includes loss of a spouse & loss of children. It includes sexual situations, strong language. This is not a standalone book.
Born and brought up in Mazabuka, Zambia. I love all genre's but I'm partial to Shifter, Paranormal and MC. I'm a Virtual Assistant by day and a wordsmith by night. I like coffee and cake, sleeping in and lazy weekends unless my husband drags me to a rock concert. My husband is my inspiration for all my male characters and why I'm a believer in love at first sight. We have been together for 29 years. I'm a big believer in family not always being blood but the people you bring into your life and that people come and go in your life as they are needed.
I liked how a random encounter at the airport changed everything for these two. Things might have seemed fast, but they knew each other, grew up in the same town, had that sort of shared history, knew of each other's spouses and what happened. That they both were in the same airport at the same time, then heading to the same African town and hotel, made it seemed like it was fated for them. Even then, they didn't really take things too fast. It was also great to see how the MC welcomed Vida, first as a friend and them more as they noticed the change in the relationship. Nice to see how this ended for the couple.
How does a book take you on a rollercoaster of a ride. Well, this one does. The sorrow & heartbreak at the start of this book has you wiping away the tears, to the end of the book where you’re cheering and wiping tears of happiness away. Later in life & falling in love are just what I like to read. After both Chase & Vida’s partners are killed in a car accident and a chance meeting in an airport, opens the door to one of the best love stories I’ve read in a while. The way Michelle Dups describes Zambia in written words you can almost hear the lion barking at night. I’ve never wanted two people to get their HEA as much as Chase & Vida. Loved it
What a fantastic love story. This book not only shows how grief affects people in different ways but also how the right people can help you find yourself living life again. Chase and Vida's story was so sweet and beautifully written. This is a later in live book where Chase and Vida who knew each other when they were younger get a second chance at love with each other and it helps them really heal. Have your tissues ready because you will be shedding the tears. Michelle you have written a beautiful book. I wish I could give more than 5 stars ⭐⭐
I'm a huge fan of mature characters finding love and this book does just that after some very emotional initial chapters.. Hard to read yes, but as a reader you'll need to appreciate what sets our main characters on their journey to each other. I loved this couple and as they reconnected after a chance meeting I was really routing for them. I'm not a reader that gives away storylines or even delves into lots of details, but suffice to say, this book will keep you reading through to the end especially if you're a fan of this series, and you won't be disappointed.
I recall when Chase was first mentioned in one of the books thinking something was off about him... And I was kinda right. I loved this novella where these two show us happily ever after loss and later in life.
I love this story, and I love the way the author dealt with real-life situations. She truly carries her readers on a journey. Chase and Vada's is a great story of healing, growth, second chances, and, ultimately, love. These characters and the challenges they've endured pulled at my heart in such a big way.
Michelle you did it again. I live to see what’s next for the Crow MC. Absolutely loved Chase. What’s not to love but a second chance to love. We all need a chase in our lives. Can’t wait for what’s next.
The prologue was poignant and required tissues for sure. But the story was absolutely so sweet and satisfying to read. Loved this visit with the Zambia chapter.
Loved this second chance love story between a couple in their 50's who've both had tragedies in their lives and came out on the other side. It was good to be back in Zambia with the crew. HEA.
I love that the Crowthorne Crow MC is growing. I was great that they found each other after they both had lost so much. Can not wait to see what happens next with this group.
If any two people deserved a second chance at love it's Vida and Chase. They grew up in the same town and their past is happy then heartbreaking as they share similar experiences. A chance meeting changes both their lives and I loved going on this journey with them.
Oh my! This is the mother of all second chance romances! I loved this book! These two come with damage as both have had horrible events in their lives. That they reconnect is nothing short of miraculous. These two have the sweetest romance ever and I love it for them. This was an exceptional read!
High school friends Chase and Vida have both endured unimaginable loss. It's been years since they have seen each other, but a chance encounter at the airport has brought them back together. Vida is crossing destinations off her bucket list, and Zambia is a big one. When Chase finds out where she is going, he offers to be her tour guide and show her around the place he now calls home. The sparks start to sizzle, and the more time they spend together, the more they realize they don't want this to end. This is a lovely, later in life, second chance love story. Set against the beautiful backdrop of Zambia. Michelle Dups brings this amazing country to life with her vivid descriptions, and this story is so lovely. No angst, just two people reconnecting, falling in love, and planning their happily ever after. With some help from some very familiar faces. Curl up with a fuzzy blanket, your favorite drink and snacks, and settle in for a cozy, lovely second chance story.
We're back with Crow MC, Crowthorne, Zambia Chapter! This time with Chase and Vida and it's a beautiful, emotional, age gap, second chance journey. This couple is utterly perfect for each other. There's so much they have in common and even though they share tragedy, there's so much more than just that.
"Life is short. And if you’re lucky enough to find love twice in your lifetime, then you should grab on and hold tight with both hands."
Their journey is heartfelt, it's about healing, returning to life and truly living after loss. A fantastic, one sitting read!
Have you ever started reading a book and knew you were going to be taken on an emotional roller coaster ride? Buckle up!!! Michelle Dups is putting you in the front seat of that coaster!!! Chase's story had to absolutely be shared just like this! Its a very scenic ride as we get to visit Zambia & some of our fave people! Don't forget to pack some tissues in your fanny pack before you get on this ride
I pick up each Michelle Dups book and tell myself - there is no way she can top my favorite book boyfriends of hers Liam, Dragon, Dog and a couple of others. But then I open Chase and it’s a second chance romance that pulls all the emotions from me. Each book she writes just gets better and better. As I turned each page, I got to experience Zambia as if I was there with them. 5 stars is all they allow but this book is a 15 star book.
I really enjoyed this one. I've been intrigued by Chase since he first turned up to help out at the Vet hospital and this is his story. I love an older romance, and one where they have both lost someone. This was cute as the couple knew each other from their younger years and I loved watching Val find herself again after losing herself and her husband. Also loved catching up with all our Crowthorne friends. Another amazing story, Miss Dups ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was a sweet insta-love story. This story is old friends turned into lovers. This book shows you that you can have a second chance at love and happiness. It is a very romantic story.
