After suffering such a great loss at the hands of Jasper, it is questionable if Ava will fulfill her destiny and bring order to the supernatural realm. Here in what is her final battle we watch as 21 year old Ava, rebuilds life as she knows it and trudges through her fragile emotional state in order to complete the journey she started months ago.
Jasper must be killed, but will Ava and the crew have what it takes to do so. Will she and Caleb thrive in the aftermath of chaos? How will Blaez shake the hold of Jasper and Elia's spell? With so much at stake, all hands are on deck and no one will walk away the same.
I am a wife to my high-school sweetheart and mother to two rambunctious boys. I love writing titillating stories about gorgeous sexy men and women. Aside from being an outlet for my creativity, being an author gives me the flexibility to be the mother and wife my family deserves.
I love to read paranormal romances as much as I love to write them. Paranormal romances are my favorites, but I'm into all kinds of books. In fact when I'm not writing (or carpooling and such) I will normally have a nice cup of coffee and my head buried in a book.
For Ava to fulfill her destiny and restore order it will take all hands on deck and no one will walk away the same in the thrilling conclusion of The Marked One serial.
Ava’s life has changed dramatically and before everything is said and done it will change even more and the emotional struggle might be more than she can handle and the reader can’t help but get drawn into the story as she captures the heart and had me wanting to stand up and cheer her on. The fast paced and smooth flowing plot captivates readers with all the suspense and excitement that flows throughout all of the books but this one really grips the heart as it brings home the weight of responsibility Ava has on her shoulders not to mention the sadness that permeates each page from Ava’s loss. Spine tingling anticipation builds as we learn that Jasper still has more tricks up his sleeve and Ava and her friends will have to decide what their best course of action will be.
Once again, I was completely enthralled by Ava and Caleb’s story and the author continued to surprise with some interesting twist…of the very happy kind…that I didn’t see coming.
I was gifted this book by Author Jocelyn Thomas for an honest review.
With the loss of her mother Ava is very withdrawn from everyone even herself, but Sarah is always watching and once again comes to the aid of her daughter.
Now Ava, The Marked One has come into her full power and is ready to rid the world of Jasper, the monster responsible for the death of her mother and threat to her new family.
Lots of action as Ava, Caleb, Blaez and their pack finally put an end to this scourge of the earth, the vampires and Jasper. But Ava is aware of the need for Blaez to be the one to end Jasper, so she gives him the honor of doing so.
Caleb has proposed to Ava and she announces to Caleb that she is with child. Blaez finally gets the nerve to kiss Kelly and all is safe again.
I am very sorry to see the end to this great series, but I love happy endings and this one certainly is..I have a feeling we might be reading about Blaez and Kelly, I sure hope so!
Keep in mind I read the entire series and this is my review of all of it. I have Finally finished this book and I have to say its terrible. This book could not keep me I had to make myself read it like it was an assignment. I paid for the series and I though that after the 1st book it would get better and more interesting and well, it DID NOT! ***SPoilers****
The romance in this book was terrible, I had my eyes rolling and everything. I don't mind insta-love books but these two never had and never developed a connection. In the first book the Alpha meets Ava and imprints on her. OK I get, i like this but then later he saves Ava from a near rape and right after that they have sex. WTF? You almost got rapped and now your going go to bed with this dude that saved you? hu? Oh yeah and she just saw him change into a wolf, and she was completely OK with this immediately. No. After this the Alpha just vanishes, he bangs her then he vanishes. Its like the author just decided she wanted to write about something else and dropped the subject all together.
Then the story goes on and a she finds out she is the marked one and blah blah blah....(this is how i felt as I was reading). Well within this time she discovers her powers and the villain (Blaez) comes into the story wanting to destroy Calebs's pack (the Alpha) and become alpha himself. So, Blaez kidnaps ava and takes her blood (her blood is suppose to be the cure for the wolf gene, and the author clearly points this out). He orders some doctor to synthesize her blood so he can poison the towns water and he does it in like a week or less, or something like that. (this had me rolling my eyes, it was stupid).
Caleb finds out she is gone and goes to rescue her with her mother Sarah, her friend Kelly and his pack. In the mean time we find out that Blaez is being control by a vampire (Jasper) and his really not that evil. We are introduced to Jasper, a crazy vampire that needs Ava's body to raise his dead Bride that was killed when she attacked Ava's mother and drank her blood (which is poisonous to a vampire). So he wants revenge for something that was not Sarah's or Ava's fault and he wants Ava's body. Caleb rescues her and they have sex and he leaves the story again. The author keeps doing this, she pulls Caleb into the story and then she drops him like he was never there and its annoying.
Ava finds out a lil more about her powers and start training with her mother. Her powers included: visions of past and future, she could do spells, she could make her spirit walk out of her body, her blood had the cure for were gene and was poisonous to vampires, and she was the oracle (an oracle is suppose to bring balance to the super natural world and also guide the supernatural one through the spirit realm to their final resting place) I probably missed something.
Anyway so, Blaez plants a mole in Caleb's pack and that mole taints the water supply with the synthesized blood . Caleb finds out and and orders his pack to go get the remainder of the synthetic blood. But by the time that happens half of his pack is not able to turn anymore. YAY! They are cured of the wolf gene like the author said right? she said it was a cure! But no. Its not a cure, because she decides now that Ava's blood is a poison that cures the wolf gene and she needs an antidote. So in the story Ava has her friend Kelly, her mother, her grandmother, and kelly's mom work on an antidote to cure the werewolfs of her poisonous blood! YAY!!! WTF? What is this what am i reading?
So in the mean time we are also introduced to Sarah's tribe (Ava's mother). They want revenge because Sarah was not supposed to have had a child. When she was 16 Sarah saw a vision that she was going to have a child and she ran away from her tribe of shape shifters (they are not weres they are human shapeshifters i think. they can chage their appearance... idk I was super confused at this point.) So anyway, they attack Ava and don't succeed, so they drop from the story for a while too.
So Jasper kidnaps Ava by hypnotizing her into going with him, he does not treat her bad at this point. He puts her in a comfy bed and dresses her in a transparent gown that she is naked underneath. When Ava wakes up she sees Jasper and she is slightly attracted to him and she gets wet and everything. WHAT IN THE ACTUAL F***!???!!! She sees a vision and finds out they have some kind of connection in the past 100 years ago or something and that is y he needs her body to bring his Vampire bride back. Whatever... at this point I wanted to light the book on fire and throw it out the window.
Blaez kidnaps Kelly and makes her help him remember that he is being controlled. Kelly helps him then she escapes.
Later everyone is planning to rescue Ava, Blaez comes in has a fight with his brother Caleb but in the end they decide since Blaez wants revenge they are going to team up. (Don't ask me I am confused too)
Ava's mother and friends comes in and rescues Ava, but Jasper decides he is going to bite Sarah and kill her. So he does. ummm... ooook? During this Caleb was hurt really bad and could not save Sarah and Ava was put to sleep by Jasper. So Ava Does not see her mother die. Blaez is there too because since he found out about the spell he wants revenge. Caleb's sister is also there and she carries Ava out. Caleb and Blaez Help each other and LEAVE JASPER SITTING ON THE FLOOR BECAUSE HE IS GOING TO DIE ANYWAY... SO Y FINISH HIM OFF RIGHT???? RIGHT? NO.
So Ava deals with her mother death and blames Caleb for it. Ava's friend Kelly start to like Blaez and have the hots for him. Blaez drinks the antidote for his controlling spell and he becomes a decent fellow. UGH!!! UGH!!! UGH!!! The werewolfs are cured with the antidote for Ava's blood.
Ok so Caleb and Ava make up. And then she is pregnant!!!! YAY! And Caleb asks her to marry him! She says yes. YAY!!!! YAY!!! YAY!!!
Then they all the characters team up and go kill the bad guy. THE END. Finally.
Did you see how confusing this review is? My point. DON'T READ THIS BOOK. RUN far far AWAY.
The end of a great series. So sad to see it end. This last book starts off sad with Ava trying to deal with the death of her mother, Sarah. Her grief is consuming her and she's pushing everyone away, including Caleb the werewolf who's "The One" the love of her life. Kelly, Ava's best friend, is trying to deal with her feelings for Blaez, Caleb's brother and fellow werewolf. Blaez has feelings for Kelly too but because of his past he's afraid to rush and Caleb is afraid Blaez is just going to use Kelly and break her heart. We also find Jasper, the vampire, who drank Sarah's blood...which was poisonous to him...slowly dying and trying to come up with a plan for revenge upon the wolves and Ava. In the midst of all the turmoil Ava is having to deal with feeling sick and soon discovers a surprise. The end of the story comes too soon with some very sad parts and a climatic ending. I really hated to see this series end and could have read another 200 pages and wanted more. I recommend this series to anyone liking witches, werewolves and vampires with an interesting story
Good, good, good! That was I thinking when finished the last page. This third part was so full of emotions and things that make you change your expectations all the time. After her mother’s death Ava was blaming Caleb. Things changed between them but Ava still missed him. Meanwhile, Jasper was weak but plotting for revenge. This series was very interesting, not predictable and very good written. I found myself almost nailed to my sofa until I finished it. The Marked One books are the first books that I have read from this author and I’m grateful that I received them for an honest review and certainly, my review is very honest.
I thought that Author Jocelyn Thomas did a wonderful job with writing and telling of her story and I enjoyed reading it very much. I just loved reading and reviewing the whole Marked One Serial for her, for it was an honor for to do so and I enjoyed her books so much. I got to know a lot about her characters and what they went through and felt. For I felt like one of her characters and was in the book myself. I recommend this book if you wish to be entertained for you won't be disappointed.
This is one of the best series. I really enjoy each character and the story line can't get any better. Ava is one of the most delightful characters while Caleb is standing beside her the entire way. With such a huge loss for Ava and her surrounding family, I was very happy for the ecstatic news toward the end. I cannot wait to see what happens next.
